After a long day of wvw we finally made it north to yaks keep! after blood, sweat and tears we got the keep with 500 trebs hitting SM! good fight today in ebg! really good opponents! (this was our day crews doing)

I personally will never understand why in a game people fight for second place. When 3rd helps 1st to take down 2nd. 3rd and 2nd should Always team up to beat down #1 as far as possible then fight it out. 2nd place is the #2 loser. Every time I see Ehmry attack Yaks, while DB has easily takeable objectives.. it boggles my mind. You take more of #1 than us, then not only are you gaining on 1st, but second as well. Not complaining.. I like barreling into you guys and being killed by a few well placed strikes.. it is a game, but I don’t understand why you guys are not playing to win rather than place?

So either we realize our servers limitations and hold to that…or we concede to the other. Im sure nobody on either server is willing to concede 1st place.

perfect fix for the massive zergs: anet implement a no more than 5% population advantage on a map. That way regardless of time, maps are always basically even populated. Longer queues, maybe…force players to stop stacking on one server and spread out on them all.

By your own logic.. you already conceded first place. Now you are just fighting for first loser (second). By double teaming the number 1 team in their off hours, and beating them back, you narrow the distance between 1st , 2nd and 3rd. Then, once you see a chance to actually overtake them, you begin to maneuver to be the one to do so. Right now, Ehmry is fighting to be the 2nd place team that loses by only 30k, by attacking YB so much during the day instead of against a dominant night time server, aka the team that is kicking your stuffings out.

Neither YB nor Ebay combined can field a late crew like Drag. Drag can field huge numbers no 3 maps, we’re lucky to field a decent team on 1 map late night but try to push on 2. Again…fighting a brick wall = wall wins so why do it? Just gonna bruise ya knuckles. The key is to know this, hold 2nd and let Drag move outta the tier and into a bracket more balanced for them. Short of either Ebay or Yaks getting some strong transfers in for late night…there’s nothing either of us solo or combined can do vs those zerg numbers from Drag.

Oh..not complaining mind you. Just simple truth that with Drag’s transfers in, Ebay losing, and Yaks dunno….Drag needs to move up and outta here.

Oh…and careful bout the “loser” comments mate. If you or Drag was such awesomeness you wouldnt keep getting pushed down. My comments based on logic adn whats going on late night, not calling names and puffing. Im going to enjoy the Drag/Kaineng matchup. Almost tempted to move an account just to watch the late night fights. Dont think Drag stands a chance on whats coming, but we’ll see.

When Mag faced Yak’s and DB, we won. The reason we won is that DB would waste so much time in our BL trying to take our stuff that they would go after Yak’s first. The points during the night that we kept from DB helped push us over the edge. This is what you need to do in order to win. You don’t have to keep everything from being flipped, but if you can make it painful to cap, they will start with another server first. Then it’s just a matter of getting your stuff back and getting it upgraded to hold it for the next night. The entire day was spent getting yaks and supply and siege in keeps and towers to hold off the next round of night capping as long as possible while taking DB during the day. Anything we got from Yak’s was just a bonus.

Worst part of that whole thing: winning the round and losing a spot in ranking. That really hurt our server’s morale.

/agree with what ur saying. pushed during primetime but problem yaks is having is EB BL is every color but theirs yet they have a larger zerg in Yaks BL than they do on their own homeland. EB pushing one side of the map while Drag pushes the other. Its Wv3, got it, no problem. But some strats being used dont make sense, almost as if EB is helping push points to Drag. Cuz anything EB takes Drag is flipping shortly after cuz its all paper. And watching Drag zergs run right past EB folks without attacking, then rolling 2-3 Yak folks in the same spot is also funny.

I’d agree with you there to a point. In balance fighting in open field or sieges..Ebay by far is tuffer to take down than Drag. (based on my fights with both that is) Drag has the huge numbers advantage late night, but it’s pretty even fight NA primetime and Drag typically falls to the bottom in PPTs and struggles to hold on to stuff.

Now wouldnt say yaks is a roll-over to Ebay either. Seen some pretty nice scraps Yaks vs Ebay that i just watched while i was eating, drinkin, etc. I’d say both servers are about balanced for the most part. Good solid fights. Props to yas!

Btw – nice thread postings in here so far. Seems even toned and challenging but not trolling/flaming. Some good natured ribbing in some, but the tone still seems all in good fun.

In that case, I need to FRAPs the next encounter between Rawr and FTF. We had some good fights so far! Our guilds appear evenly matched, though it’s so kitten hard to see exact numbers because I never know if culling is happening at that exact moment :/

We aren’t worrying about Kaineng until they get here.

Also I would point out you lost SM and your garrison to our NA crew. No night crew needed. We love those guys from the oceanic time zone and there’s no doubt they threw us on their back to get here. But personally I think our NA has been brought up to T4 material with our transfers. When we hold 90% of our BL and everything we in EB should own. With additional points from other BL. I haven’t seen below +200 in a while.

I was over there with the EA crew at that fight. It’s funny because we were wondering what EBay was doing there as well. We fought them and you at the same time. There was no 2v1ing going on in this instance. It was some good old fashioned 3 way action.

Ebay was just there to fight. I mean they didn’t have the camp or bay and there were plenty of other targets on the map. I guess they just wanted to fight which is always cool with me.

It was definitely not directed at you, it was a general statement about leadership (both in WvW and in life). I know you wouldn’t blame your zerg for doing what they’re supposed to since I’ve run with you dozens of times. I also know that you understand that if a zerg fails it’s the leaders fault because … that’s what leadership is.

Personally I don’t care about the score or who holds what % of the maps.

I’m just saddened by the zerg mentality of DB/Yak. Hard to find a solo/roamer at all……o well we’ll move down next week mayhap I’ll find a better crew

Was on EB for a couple weeks and would roam solo as a Guardian with some success. Some nights all I’d do is run into groups and zergs, but I found my fair share of 1v1 or v2 that made it worth it.

As I said, the rest of my post was under the assumption it was just a statement.

As long as there’s like 5 people in my zerg that read teamchat and somewhat listen to me, I have no complaints about how things go usually.

Only times I ever get annoyed with the people on the map is when I know we have a population present but no one’s communicating on teamchat and no one shows up to places under attack even when requested. Usually I’ll just head to another BL when that happens, I definitely try not to be the commander getting kitten off on teamchat. :P

No sarcasm here. By all means, feel free to double team us. I prefer for us to move up to the next tier by overcoming such a challenge. That way we will know that we definitely belong in the next tier rather than barely making it and getting hammered down fast.

FTF is def a good guild. But dont get a big head. Krew has fought you guys plenty of times open field and have won. Theres alot of good guild groups on all 3 servers that are very good in open field combat. big shoutout to Grindhouse{GH} Krew always seems to run into you guys and the outcome is 50/50 so far from what i can see.

I posted this in the T3 thread, but it is relevant for this tier as well.

This would never work… Then servers like DB that like to tick 500+ points when the NA servers work and sleep wouldn’t be able to play.

I dont claim invincibility. I die plenty of times throwing myself into your zergs lol FTF, along with GH, came from t7 and have weathered Ehmry Bays ups and downs. Unfortunately as of late, other guilds of EB have been shaken (some not all) with recent events regarding our server.

But you mistake my arrogance for solely my guild, i talk about our server as a whole. Theres alot of smaller guilds out there doing alot of work out there too, and are straight vicious about it. FTF aint alone.

And you’re also correct in that they’re good guilds on DB and YB. Most notably from Yaks Bend, [HELL], [HATE], [OF] and yes i do remember a skirmish between [Rawr]. Always down for a match or organizing a fight club, feel free to drop me a message.

From Dragonbrand… its hard to tell sometimes. I’ve had good fights with both [BS] and [Krew]. But your servers massive size combined with the steady mix of guild tags often masks if they’re many small group ops that you run. But yes [Krew] is definitely been spotted running smaller groups…. But you guys are near the only ones that or the rest are focusing on DB.

What your facing at 12AM-4/5 AM Eastern are those that haven’t gone to sleep yet from the NA time zone. Same as you guys.

Is NNK NA? Looks like different names than we see in primetime. So doesn’t seem like NA, unless your NA team doesn’t start playing the game in earnest till like 11 PM NA. We rarely get pushed by DB prior to that.

But seems like a lot of these groups are not used to being hit back at all, other than maybe by a token force that its easy for them to overwhelm. Having 50 man groups routed by maybe half of that when they do actually meet organized resistance.

Shouldn’t be surprising really if that is all one is used to facing. It takes consistent competition to force you to improve tactically. But its definitely up there beyond this tier. We have played IoJ, CD, TC, these teams that are used to having to battle intensely off peak, and they are very good at it.

Nah, NNK are some of our Asians.
But I tend to see a few NNK during NA daytime/afternoon still, and a steadily increasing number of them until their primetime.
You’re probably seeing groups of them come online before the fullest of our Asian force gets home from work/school/whatevertheydoduringtheday

ADDED: I really hope by now though, at least since this is the second week of this matchup, that we’ve proven that our NA crew belongs in tier 4. I think we’re past the days where we should be getting ragged on as being carried by our Asian crew. They certainly make a difference and they are also definitely the reason that we /win/ so solidly, be if they all left right now we would still be competitive where we are.

Absolutely. What YB has noticed is DB’s NA crew is much different than what it was weeks (month?) ago. Were see more resistance now during YB’s prime time from DB and this is evident with the point ticks between DB and YB being closer together.

not true, can set a minimum number allowed on a map before the 5% rule kicks in. Can still queue and Wv3, just cant field those massive 3-4:1 odds that’s going on now on some servers. If you’ve ever been on a zerg 24/7 server you’ll know they pretty much blow chunks. once the maps all the same color…Wv3 = dead. Other servers just go do PvE so it ends up a boring week.

Oh wow…we, [HELL], got a kudos! We’ve only been on Yaks for just shy of a week and there’s less than 15 of us with 6-8 online during our peak times. But I’d like to think we’re pretty vicious in the field and darn near unbreakable on defense. We always love a good fight, you’ll find us on the map seeking map objectives for points or shutting down points of another server. Oh…and we LOVE to ninja! You’ll almost always find us not at the tip of the Yaks spear…more often than not we’re already knee deep in the center of the enemy zerg when the spear shows up.

So k mate…dont let DB PvDoor night crew get you wound up. They’re enjoying the fun to see their colors on the maps. Fun will end soon enough when they run up into a server that can field a night crew like them. As we’ve already seen on daily matchups during NA primetime, when its balanced teams DB tends to be defending/losing more than gaining. It’s only when they can field those 3-4:1 odds on late night they make headway.

let me say some of us are very indifferent to the score as of late. we play for the love and the fun

plus ehmry bay is still the server i’ve found to be almost unchallenged in open combat effectiveness. i always see ebay push and successfully slaughter your zergs with significantly lower numbers on a regular basis. Too bad it does nothing for your score.

Why does it seem like that most ppl feel that the DB NA Night crew have never vsed servers that have the same night crew number as them. We stayed when guilds like Tsym ditched us for sea of sorrows. Oh yea, and it was after we vsed servers like jade quarry. We have vsed those servers and we have gone up against their night crew. Not saying we will definitely win, but the Night crew of DB have been here in Dragonbrand for a long time. We didnt always just PvDoor, it was only when we dropped down the tiers when our big NA guilds ditched us for sea of sorrows.
