Glad that paid transfers are getting put into place as well.
But to get back on topic: i’m actually enjoying in some regards the boost in numbers SF is seeming to have. Gives me and my guildies on FC time to learn how to combat larger numbers.
Others may disagree with me, but when ever we are against a larger server i see it as a good time to train in new tactics {like capping around the enemy zerg, hit and runs, diverting a zerg. or attempting to divert lol if we dont get run over in the process }
And i’m sorry ET that you are losing players. I always had fun dueling some of your D/P thiefs in EB.
Oh well…..At least one week of a even match up was good.
Was hoping for another, but looks like the transfers are in at SF.Whaaa?? O.o
The score as of this posting is currently:
SF: 164,806
FC: 145,723
ET: 97,322If you compare that point spread with the point spreads of the other tiers, you’ll notice that this is still a relatively even match and SF is NOWHERE near dominating (if you want to see domination as a result of server transfers, look at those point spreads in tiers 5 and 6). (http://mos.millenium.org/matchups#NA)
I myself haven’t noticed much in the way of server transfers, but that’s not to say it hasn’t been happening. But I personally don’t think server transfers is playing much of a role in SF taking the lead as much as ET loosing even more WvWers (sorry to hear ET ). SF has always had the numbers to do well when they’re against one strong population server and one weak population server. Now that we’re not fighting a two-front war nearly as much, SF is able to cap more assets and put a lot more heat on FC. We also have a lot of “fair weather” players on our server. When the going gets rough in WvW, our players retreat to PvE. When the going gets good in WvW, our players decide that WvW is fun again and return to WvW. Also, I’ve been hearing stuff about a new alliance on SF that is trying to get our WvW organized and populated, which may be playing into things.
Just because SF has taken the lead doesn’t mean the match isn’t even anymore or that we’ve gotten an influx of server transfers. The point spread is still relatively competitive and there are plenty of other reasons that could explain the lead. If we start seeing a point discrepancy of hundreds of points, then we can start pointing the finger at server transfers.
Keep up the good fight and don’t let that morale dip!
Well we went to nice even battles in EBG to SF having 100% EB and 50 ppl outisde our spawn all day, overnight. It’s not even anymore, don’t kid yourself.
yes there is a very large night presence on SF, but during the day it’s pretty even I love hopping on the map and causing some havoc it’s been fun fighting you guys
and as far as ET losing people, that’s not entirely true, we seem to be losing ppl as the week goes on in WvW however we have a lot of large guilds … they just need to be motivated to do something in wvw as opposed to sitting in front of queensdale with their commander icon on… lol

Believe me when I say that I feel for you guys. I’ve been in Ferguson’s Crossing since the game’s release – and I’ve been participating in WvW from nearly the start.
We’ve certainly had our good times, and we’ve had our fair share of tough times too. It’s hard losing again and again – but we’re fighters, and certainly bull-headed. That’s why we kept pushing week after week while getting stomped by first DR and then Kain.
I’m sure that every single one of us has experienced the flash of annoyance (and perhaps anger) that comes with losing a strong WvW guild, or when hearing that an opposing server have been gifted with a strong WvW guild transfer or three.
It’s certainly disheartening at times to watch territory that was “easily” controlled at one point, now nearly impossible to defend without heavy losses of resource and money due to guild losses/enemy transfers/better time coverage.
All I can say is – I’ve been there. I know you’re there.
With time, especially when all these stupid free transfers stop, you guys will be able to organize yourselves into an effective and lethal team. Just be as tenacious about that as you are in the field.
I’ve got a lot of respect for your server. You guys push hard and fight well. You are certainly tenacious. Keep up the good work. I hope to continue seeing you guys on the battlefield. We haven’t given up – and we still hold out hope that one day we’ll start making our move up the tiers. You guys will too.
In my opinion, the situation at ET is just going to keep getting worse as more people get frustrated with poor performances, transfer causing poorer performance thus frustrating more people and getting them to leave. The only people that seem to be staying are those that want to hop into WvW, run around killing things for an hour and log off, which is pretty unfortunate (well besides our patient ET patriots xD). It seems that this cycle is almost impossible to break at this point, and likely it wont until we hit rock bottom with a completely new set of players, get our new players good experiences (not the current terrible performance we’ve had) and basically build up from scratch.
Ferguson’s Crossing
I was baffled the other night when an Invader passed me with very high speed and wondered which class had a new skill or trait which allowed them to fly with super swiftness.
Your opinions about ET aren’t exactly true… sure some are getting demoralized, but there’s a growing number of us building upon the fact that we are outnumbered. Take today for instance, by midnight est we typically lose everything in EB
Now we’re outnumbered and still going strong. The only way to become better players to to rise up to the challenge and fight those numbers. It is an opportunity that many of the ET guilds that I have talked to are bonding over. We have a rather large population just not wvw, and like I said, a lot of very large guilds that aren’t very active in that wvw. We can build, and it’s not a problem. If you feel demoralized about it and choose to get frustrated then maybe you are playing on the wrong server or the wrong game. Games are meant to be enjoyed. Go out there and enjoy it. Seize the moment.
Anyway, it’s been fun in EB today guys. I really appreciate the challenge you guys gave us. The 50 man rush on our keep from the underground passage was pretty dicey!
Time to hit the sack.

For the love of god, if you see someone exploiting/glitching/hacking from our server or any server or even exploiters from your server, report them, we cannot do anything if we don’t see it, and no I personally don’t accept that kind of attitude towards a game, we will win/lose fair and square. Please dont judge a server from a couple of bad apples.
Back on topic, we are having a blast this week, keep up the good fights ET and FC.
Eredon, We know the feeling of losing a lot of fair weather guilds, we lost a lot of guilds last month. But also means that the pve players may get interested in WvW which seems to be the case with SF. So dont lose hope, the people that stays after they stop the free transfers, are the real citizens of Eredon and will fight for their server as their home.
Hope I don’t sound weird but that’s how I see it.

Why the kitten is the PvP guild on SF still not banned? kitten your bullkitten rules about not calling out this crap while you sit around doing nothing. They just wall jumped into bay and then greenlake right after while we couldn’t get there in time. Best part is they have followers helping them outside of their guild. Seriously, Anet, wtf. And who the hell of SF is ok with this?
Yeah – Anet called me out on that post, btw. Warned me for “Guild Assassination”.
shrugs I honestly didn’t think I was guild assassinating. I thought I was pointing out a problem and asking that the server keep an eye out for it. I’m certainly not going to call out an entire server on the poor decisions of a minority of people – and I certainly didn’t call out the entire guild.
Ferguson’s Crossing
So I wonder, is there anybody on that Envy guild that isn’t a thief or mesmer?
So I wonder, is there anybody on that Envy guild that isn’t a thief or mesmer?
Well I was playing my thief today but I have 4 geared 80’s that I play on a regular basis. Ele, Thief, Necro, Mesmer, in the order in which I play most frequently. But yeah a large percentage of the guild is Thief or Mesmer.
ET did decent tonite, and Row keep in mind we ALMOST had that gate down lol!
And lets be fairly honest, ET players that stick around are just going to get better. I am looking forward to the paid transfer system. I will say this though, if you come to ET and say I am from this server I want to help, you will get a lot of hate off the bat, some of the ET guys are here since they were doing really, really well, and are loyal, so they see some people transfer in, and think they will just leave later on. That said, we have had a few recent transfers, even 1 commander that has won us over and I am slowly seeing some group cohesion again.
ET is always competitive in our on hours, and if we can get the newer players to keep playing and keep learning (including myself), I don’t think we will have an issue.
ET is a great community, and we have some really good commanders, we also have a lot of people who are pure zerglings and won’t do anything but follow the other green dots…

We have about 15 active players in Envy, 10 of which are on Ferguson’s Crossing. We have a limited group of characters to choose from, so it’s likely that you see the same faces over and over. We’ve had greater diversity in months past, but a lot of people have either quit the game or are inactive. I personally play a mesmer, but I’ve been playing this character since the game’s launch, when it was the least played class in the game. And like Dank said, a lot of us have level 80 alts. Which class a lot of us plays has a lot to do with the situation we are usually in.
As I am guessing you have seen by fighting us, we are usually massively outnumbered. Not all the time, but a very good majority of it. Don’t get me wrong, I prefer a challenging fight, but we’re lucky if we can get a full guild group going on a given night. With some of the numbers we have to face on a daily basis, there’s a reason a lot of us play thieves and mesmers. When it’s 3 on 20, we’re going to run with whatever gives us the best chance to hold off that many numbers. There’s usually more thieves attacking me in a fight than I will have guildies online. I don’t really feel bad with whatever group composition we choose considering what we constantly go up against.

I can definately see Skarloc’s point. My guild’s usually lucky to field 3 people at a stretch.
Don’t get my wrong, we’ve got some pretty chill folk – but RL takes its toll, always. As for type of char – depends on the person, honestly. I went Sylvari Mes from day 1, love it.
Funny part is: I was a server-hop. Started on SoS for like a month, my guildies were all Fergs. Of course, I swapped over to join ‘em. Love it over in FC. We’ve got some straight-up pitbulls, as far as the regular WvWers. I kitten well respect that mentality. Now, to see what happens, with the advent of paid transfers … should be interesting.

I can’t imagine that the initial question was asked as a criticism, and you certainly shouldn’t feel bad. The question came up simply because, the last time we (or at least I) encountered your guild as a group, we all asked ourselves afterwards, “wait, was that an entire guild of thieves and mesmers?”

[tl;dr: I’m in the safe and secure Cliffside for 2+ hours. Portal appears on top of wall and invaders start coming through the portal. They took the keep, then we killed them as they attempted to leave.]
This may answer the question I had, but first a disclaimer: I am fairly new and very inexperienced when it comes to WvW. Sometimes I do poorly and sometimes I do well (aka: get lucky).
Late last night, I was in Cliffside for at least 2 hours (straight) on my thief and there was also a ranger (you were a pretty pleasant fellow btw. sorry I can’t remember your name atm). We chatted about the game a bit, compared gear, etc. I built a few arrow carts, upgraded the cannons and did some other things. Occasionally, a small force (maybe 3-6 invaders) would show up and we would repel them. Someone built a ballista on the ground and it was awesome “bait” for the invaders. Sometimes a single invader would run by and I’d jump off the wall and attack them. Some might think 2+ hours is excessive, but I learned quite a bit from watching the map, listening to map chat, upgrading, etc. It was pretty awesome.
Suddenly, right next to me on the wall above the gate, a portal appears and invaders began appearing RIGHT ON THE WALL next to me. It really caught me by surprise. I tossed out a few rushed attacks and went down. I think I managed to bleed someone to death because I revived. The attackers moved north along the wall and up the cliff to attack the NPC’s in the tower. I made a beeline for the opposite end of the wall and took a couple of seconds to recover while map chatting the situation. I then ran towards them and tried to be a general annoyance and then jumped off the wall out of the keep when their attention turned towards me. They persued and the real fight started on the ground. I held my own as allies began trickling in and we dispatched them pretty quickly. Then we retook Cliffside.
Is this how the mesmer portals work or was I witnessing something else?
Also, I was in another location and watched a Veteran guard take damage from an unseen source. The Vet made no attempt to fight back and never moved from his spot while his life was slowly whittled away. It eventually died. Another ET guy watched it too and stated that the Vet was being attacked by someone “underground with water weapons.”
What’s up with all that? (and sorry for the rambling. I had a pretty good time last night and I’m kinda excited about it.)

That, my friends, was a beautiful assault on Stonemist.

Were you that basilisk venom thief hanging out around Durios poking out past the bridge towards SM fairly late last night? I had to hand off my treb to someone else just to answer a cry for halp.

Not gonna lie — outnumbered fights like that are the ones that feel the best to win. Some mix containing thief/mesmer + a couple of anything else pretty much has capacity to wreck the green upscaled people in that group fast to even out the odds.
