For servers with a massive WvW bandwagon it is.

Everyone else is screwed.

Screwed how?

Over time the Tiers will finally start to even out and we’ll end up with good close matches. You don’t need to be higher ranked to have fun in WvW. A good close game is where the fun comes from.

In my opinion obviously..

all depends on whether the gem fee is high enough to discourage those weak sauce transfer guilds.

I think the point is that if your server was on a current upswing and popular with a lot of the transfer crowd it is a good time for them to put in paid transfers. If you are a server in a slump, then you will likely stay in a slump.

I think it would be super funny to transfer everyone back to their original server selection, and then allow for paid transfers. Can you imagine the chaos of their glicko system

Because success in WvW is determined by two things:
1) Timezone coverage
2) Having more players than the opposition

Those that don’t have that now, will never have it once a financial barrier is put infront of server recruiting.

All this change does is close the gate after the horse has bolted.

Then you will drop to a tier with people who have the same 2 things.

Not every server can be in T1 and you can still have plenty of fun in other tiers.

This will do nothing but good for WvW players.

It’ll take time for rankings to adjust though. Probably a month.

Thats why your own post doesnt make sense, that was the main problem constant jumping ship, nothing else nothing more and when it was free and instant people used to use it as a node gathering method.

So that means everyone will transfer to SoS before Jan 28th to join the #1 NA server rite? (Note: I am not from SoS and would never plan to be.)

‘Everyone’ don’t need huge numbers and 24/7 coverage tho, you just need similar coverages and numbers across the 3 servers in the same tier. Not everyone wants or cares to be t1.
Some of us enjoy the lower tiers but are just sick and tired of the upjumped servers who get weak sauce transfer guilds who can’t hack it from up high and transfer down low to show how ‘godly’ they are by bringing up a low tier server (and then jumping ship soon as the going gets tough again).
