WvW fans, this week we have a very exciting Tier 1 match-up between Jade Quarry, Stormbluff Isle, and Isle of Janthir.

Jade Quarry — Last week saw JQ dominating the T1 bracket, but with that level of domination comes the curse of attracting hordes of players who have discovered the fastest way to win at WvW is to hit the “Transfer Worlds” button. Will this influx of new players help or hinder?

Stormbluff Isles — SBI fought hard through last week’s weekend battle but just could not maintain any progress in the long run. During the week SBI switched to a focused strike strategy, bringing some great weeknight battles (NA time), but no significant gains in the overall score.

Isle of Janthir — IoJ has been charging its way up the ladder and it will be interesting to see what this server brings to the T1 match. The questions is, will IoJ aim for 2nd, putting the squeeze on SBI, or will it go for the gold, leading for one entertaining match-up.

Please post any scores, screens, and commentary to this thread, but keep it civil.

I’m IOJ and I hope we do well but realisticly we have little experience fighting T1 servers and logic would indicate us not doing so great. I’m going to be there friday but out of town all weekend so I feel kinda bad I wont be there to help out my server. Good luck to all.

I believe SBI lost WM this week which doesn’t bode well for them

Apologize in advance for not being able to give you the true “T1 experience” of two weeks ago, when JQ was at its peak power.

But it should still be entertaining.

As a member of IoJ I really hope we can do good. I personally do not think we can match the coordination that JQ has with 80% + of its members on TS but I really hope that we can put up a good showing and prove that we deserve to be in T1.

The sad fact is that the server with the most 24/7 coverage will win every week regardless of strategy. The best that you can hope for is a good fight and to have fun while you are on.

I personally will not be participating or promoting any offensive strikes on IoJ. Defensive manuevers and retribution strikes absolutely.

I don’t represent a large guild, but I will do what I can to guide SBI towards pure unadultered destruction of JQ.

WvW is a joke and will be until ANET comes up with a solution to the free transfer band wagon issue.

What? You guys fought SBI last week. Oh wait… nvm…. IoJ only attacked Blackgate and worked with SBI.

It’ll be an interesting matchup to watch. I hope IoJ loses so we can face them in T2 next week.

If IoJ stands up and shows against JQ, it’ll be a 3-way battle, although SBI’s main target will be JQ as it was this past couple weeks. Looking forward to having a populated server joining into the battle.

IoJ actually does have experience fighting t1 servers, as we were forced to fight them week after week as the 5th ranked server, the “gatekeeper” in t2. We have better coverage now so it should be a good fight.

No outer gates were broken, only the inners.

Well if IoJ keeps using exploits we are boned.

funny thing is.. north eastern gate was broken.. and no one checked.. no one checked when there is silver cross marks on your keep for 3-5 mins when we are cata-ing it..

where is the evidence that it was by exploit? 30 mins go by.. hell you couldve repaired it afterwards and blame exploits this exploits that..

Well if IoJ keeps using exploits we are boned.

No exploits were used. We broke down your northern gate and waited inside for about 20 mins. You guys didn’t even bother checking your keep after that gate went down. After that, we slowly began taking down the keeps inner wall with a cat and called reinforcements to escort the orb. Don’t call exploits just cause you guys got outplayed.

chill guys ….. lets work this all out :P no point arguing over what is done.. as long as its explained n its not an exploit, lets move on

Looking at score for the past 2 hrs. looks fun but I was also setting in the queue for those 2 hrs. (at a minimum) and finally gave it up for today.

IoJ here…. I’m secretly hoping we get crushed this week. Get rid of the massive influx of band-wagoners we have received.

Waited in queue for 2 1/2 hours when my PC crashed when trying to zone in at reset.

Tier 1 – WvQvQueue

This does not mean I will be giving up in any way, shape, or form. We at IoJ always fight to the bitter end.

Yes, there will always be some bandwagoners whenever a server heads to T1 since some people want to experience the t1 fights (I’m even guessing some blackgate are transferring since their matchup is less than stellar)

But this complaining is getting out of hand, the queue’s (albiet a little longer) were almost as long last week on friday during primetime, fridays at this time right after reset are ALWAYS long, before judging the queue times on IoJ please wait at least until sunday.

note I have been on IoJ since the 3 day headstart, so yes I do know a little bit of what I’m talking about.

I’ve been on SBI since the headstart and HoD during beta. This is the longest I’ve ever waited in a que.

But this is also the most hyped T1 match since HoD was in their prime, everyone is coming out to WvW for this one which could explain the longer queue’s and even diffuse the argument of “bandwagons” (like I said no doubt they are there but not in such a force as blackgate or JQ just be patient and over the weekend the queue’s are sure to die down)

And it will continue to happen over and over and over again, until free transfers are abolished.
SBI is probably next, and then I’m thinking IoJ possibly.
I personally think they’re doing it on purpose to scatter all the guilds. But that’s just my opinion.

What massive transfer? All of these assumptions in this thread are baseless arguments without proof. Yes JQ was loaded with pug xfers but to start saying SBI had massive influx of xfers (as well as IoJ or us “next”) because they are in first for the time being is just ignorant… not to mention it discourages and people from actually transfering there if they DID want to

And yes, SBI does still need transfers contrary to what most people think they have a rather large EU gap (as does IoJ if you are thinking about transferring!) and these kind of posts could possibly sway guilds on the fence away.

Its been a pretty even match tonight, great fights being had by all. I am proud to see IoJ holding their own in T1 so far!

Well hopefully things keep going as they are, but it’s a shame how long these ques are.
