Prescribed [Rx], a guild on SoS, will be running a special raid in WvW on Thursday, October 2nd on mostly rangers wearing rose ice dye for breast cancr awareness month. This is an invitation to those of you from other servers who would also like to join in on the event. Organize your guilds to raid on rangers with pink moas or in pink dyes!

• Our Thursday raids normally start at 10:30pm EST/7:30pm PST, however, feel free to start your pink ranger raids anytime this month as October is breast cancr awareness month!
• Prior to joining WvW, we will be going to Frick Hall in Rata Sum to each pick up a juvenile Pink Moa to run with.
• I will personally be handing out 50 rose ice dyes to guildies first, then SoS members who want to participate, then anyone who whispers me asking to participate. We are hoping people will also run their raids in some kind of pink dye.
• I will also be streaming the event on my twitch at http://twitch.tv/virulent and adding a donation button for anyone who wants to contribute to the Susan G. Komen fund for breast cancr awareness. Do not feel the need to donate, but drop by and say hi!
• I will also be raffling off some pink in game items for $1 donations, bought with gold donated from Prescribed [Rx].
• I will have a ticker on the stream with shout outs to anyone who has a loved one who has been affected by breast cancr.

For those of you on servers that we might be vs’ing that week JQ, BG, TC, FA, Mag – we are on SoS], I want to invite/encourage you to run around with the pink moa ranger and if you spot an [Rx] member, wave or salute at him/her! Then, whisper them asking for a free rose ice dye!

Great idea. My wife does the 3-day almost every year. Sadly, I am not in that tier any longer. However I will don my Ranger in a Rose hue at that time in solidarity.

I used to do something very similar. When I used to play Runescape I would do the whole pink awareness thing too, believing in my heart of hearts that I was doing something good.

And my mum has been through kantser (why is this word blocked?), however after doing research into the whole pink ribbon thing we found a lot of ugly stuff tied to it, and neither of us support it anymore for good reason. When you think about it, isn’t it ironic how billions of dollars have been raised, yet there doesn’t seem to be a ‘cure’? I find it a bit odd. In fact, extremely odd. Anyway I’ll just leave this here. It’s up to you to decide what you want to do, but for me personally, I don’t support it anymore.

Ah, large organizations are more reliable/less likely to scam due to reputation, but I understand why you would think it’s ironic. There may not be a ‘cure’ yet, but if we don’t help fund, there never will be. Again, I’m not pushing anyone to support financially, but I’m glad you’ll be running pink!

We as individuals from whatever Tier, Server or guild can together try to raise awareness just by putting on pink colors for the entire month of October

theres no need to be all conspiracy theory about breast cancer organizations.

science works at its own pace. if we do not have the tech for a cure, we will not find a cure. it is not odd. it is not ironic. it is simply us being not clever enough yet.

the issue with some of the Breast Cancr Awareness charities, is the word ‘awareness’. The Susan Komen charity spend less than 10% on looking for a cure. It is about raising awareness. Who on earth isn’t ‘aware’ of breast cancr?

I challenge you to give to places where you’ll make a bigger impact, rather than paying for the admin costs of a breast cancr awareness org.
