No, he did announce it in voice chat to GODS after we broke off, then later in Lions Arch on FA. Guess he’s had a change of heart.

I’ll just have to point out my opinion, I really think being concerned with the status of “win” at all is going to heavily hinder your ability to have fun. The ONLY tangible reward for WvW is the Power of the Mists, which is something that can only go up. And with how close our scores are, all three servers are pretty equally “winning” the Power of the Mists.

SMC has changed hands many times, and all sites in general have been contested multiple times. The end fact is that the scores of all of us including TC are far closer together that the majority of matchups we’ve had otherwise. The fact that we’re not having to communicate “Use the side exits of spawn!” (nor our opponents) makes this set up preferable to me. Even battles are more fun than “stomping” anyone or locking in ownership of SMC.

I disagree! Your server has more control over its fate than another server. If you believe it is a population issue that is preventing your server from better performance do your best to foster a community that people want to be a part of and people will come to you.

TC hasn’t had any mass transfers (that I know of) but I have seen a slow trickle of new names and faces. Most of the people that come in here stay for the wonderful ERP and our “warm and inviting” WvW community.

Well after an afternoon first capping back our borderlands and then paying a little visit to Yak’s looks like we were pretty successful.

I was kidding about the ERP. Those people avoid WvW like we’ve all got the plague.

In particular the concern of the current and growing non-competitiveness level in this tier resulting in apathy and lower participation as time goes on.

I’ll never understand why people seem to lose their competitive edge against people they already “know”. The most fun I’ve had in previous years playing various games has been when we do FFAs or in-house DotA matches with only friends. Knowing subtleties can add some spice to the match and give it more flavor than crashing against anonymous faces.

Plus, I’m not sure people would have more fun up against servers with lower pops/coverage (lower tiers), or those with much higher pops/better coverage (higher tiers).

So who do these folks want to play? I guess this always comes back to the incentive problem. People can’t seem to conjure up the desire to just compete en masse. There always has to be some carrot to make sure various folks get their bodies into the maps to give it some semblance of population.

I could rant for days on this, so I’ll stop. As long as the battles against these two servers maintain their rockitude, I’ll be happy as a clam.

Bah! You’re right. I misinterpreted on account of related reasons for people losing interest pressing some of my buttons, so apologies for that tangent.

However, server dynamics alone do not dictate that TC will continue to win. FA and YB being content and fighting over the scraps from TC’s table are a large contributing factor. Both find weakness in each other and seek to exploit it in order to gain second place, fearful to clearly assault TC because they do not have the numbers or coordination or what-have-you to press while retaining enough defense to accommodate advances from the other server.

I wonder what would happen if, instead of pushing back to Yak’s side of the map after an advance, FA pushed towards TC’s. I wonder what would happen if, when FA goes to defend against TC, Yak’s pushes TC, and FA presses further.

I wonder what would happen if our two servers stopped settling for second place and sought to crush first.

I wonder.

Adi and I have a theory that you’re starting to enjoy work so much, that you’re doing overtime instead of being here… with us. And we are heartbroken. ;~;

I dont think that FA is going to be hurt significantly by the transfers, last week we(yaks) lost Foo probably our biggest wvw guild to BG, did it hurt? probably less that most people expected, they had very good commanders and players, but that’s the nature of the beast with the transfers.

I just had an amazingly fun 1v1 with a TC thief between Garrison and Bay on TCBL. It went for like 7 full minutes.That was a heck of a lot of fun and I salute you if you are reading this!
