Can you let this Charr (me) get through the EB jumping puzzle without killing me? I just want the badges, I couldn’t care less about the siege blueprints.

ULTD is only hackers in the sense of when people cry after they skillfully beat them. There are no “hackers” in that guild, just good players.

If I see you in there, I’ll leave you alone. Can’t speak for anyone else, though. There have been too many counts of broken temporary truces in the JP from all sides at this point, and I think people who go there regularly might be a little tired of non-aggression pacts at the moment.

Had a ton of fun with last week’s matchup, hoping to have more fun this week. Thanks and good luck to all three servers.

Today was great fun… Started out on FABL with the SM like garrison but it seemed like once one of our commanders left that half the people we had there left as well. So we just tried to hold that SW corner of the BL but that Bay Keep is really hard to hold compared to the others. We ended up being sandwiched between FA & TC – TC took briar and FA the keep so we headed over to TCBL to try and see what we could do there. It was completely green when we got there apart from 1 camp we had in SE, we took lake without any swords popping until we hit the lord and then tried to take Hills. We got in but took to long to try and cap it in which time TC turned up and kicked us out. It was about this time that i had enough of losing so i headed to YBBL and participated in taking that SW corner.

All in all it’s been a fun reset day. We shall see what the rest of the week brings though

I’d like to apologize for those among us who were hard of hearing last night at our TCBL ram picnic. Our Commander ordered us to NOT attack investigating invaders while we relaxed in front of the keep with our shame rams. Some people have the bloodlust, they can’t follow orders.

EB was pretty fun last night. Lot’s of fights, with coordinated TC and YB attacks on our supplies. Ended up with both of them turtled up in their areas and us holding SMC.

Was nice fighting [GODS] last night, then whole server showed up at NE Tower YB BL. Had to log after. Did you guys take our Garrison as well?

You should edit out that first line. It isn’t true and it only drags down the dialogue in this thread.

edit: Yes FA tends to “zerg” large and hard. (hi, GODS, hi OBEY!) The trick is to have defensive siege and people willing to defend. Usually when they are zerging that hard you can send a group of 10 to cause hell in their other borderlands since the vast majority of their server’s BL presence is lumped in that one BL of choice.

Shame on you for logging! Stay up till 4:00am like me!

Frankly, when it comes to “zerg” movements, those assaults simply stand out more than any other type of attack. Also you’re more likely to be more “acquainted” with enemy zergs than ally zergs.

My point being I think all servers have a pretty equal quantity of zerging. Also I think all servers peak their zerging during afternoon hours, the period of time with highest GW2 population throughout which correlates to the highest raw probability of untactical players gathering together.

Things get more tactically escalated as those types of people conclude their session or go to sleep. So my favorite hours are night, when I cease referring to them as a “zerg” and conferring the term “army”. But you are right about the borderlands populations, the commanders of [PRO] are good at rallying players and bringing players with them across maps. But I’m hoping this week population will be better, and all borderlands may become more exciting.

I must note that there’s been an increase in commanders lately (again during the noon to afternoon hours), and that’s not helping strategy during those times. I saw 6 commanders at one peak, and 4 of them failed to earn any of my respect. I imagine that’s happening on all servers, as I’ve also killed players with the commander tag that were hardly coordinating strategy. But I don’t hold high expectations during those hours, WvW is still fun outside of those bits.

I loved last week, scores that close equal a good match. Especially that climax in SMC. I do hope for higher population this week and more excitement.

Yeah, will agree with you there about the increase in commanders. 100 gold doesn’t make a commander. Getting results and reputation does. Quite honestly, I’ve seen a bunch of poor commanders wonder where everyone went when they make some incredibly stupid mistakes, not realizing that people simply stop following you when you make poor decisions. Ex. When FA turned the tide in their BL last night.

Nice comeback though FA, looking to be another close week.

I sure hope we can get more US West coast prime time active players here on Yak’s ( would that be oceanic? EU? both? ) I love this server matchup when we hit that magic hour and numbers are fairly consistent for all 3 servers but it’s a very small window before we’re back in Yak defense mode and outnumbered on both sides. Nature of the game for sure and I’m proud of the tenacity my server mates show but it would be nice to have a little more population to keep up the battle against our opponents.

Again though, I enjoy this server matchup far more than the others so far and our opponents are very fun to play against.

If I’m doing the Mesmer ports for TC (I do many—so so so many), you got it. I usually port with instructions on which server is on friendly terms at the moment.

“Do not attack such and such….. for now.”

We been having many unspoken truces at times. Fragile things. It only takes one to ruin it for the whole server. Then every player gets killed no matter how often they /wave /cry /whatever.

YB has had a few players wait until they outnumber the enemy players, then decide to get free kills when it is “safe” for them. They backstab the players that literally saved them earlier. A minority, but still there.

If I see any Asura Mesmers from YB, you will be killed on sight. Sorry, but I had too many instances with them being very shady. Also, you have a guild that hangs out at the chest waving and dancing, and then attacks people. I just need to pay more attention to guild tags (and lack of them).

Can’t control etiquette of others, but if you are being killed, chances are your teammates did something bad and used up the 3 strikes rule.

I was the Norn Mesmer.

You guys were getting far (hitting the very top of the Arena), FA and YB acting together. You both were about to break through (so close, so many times). But then we saw FA turn on you YB folk. We were laughing, but in sadness.

Sorry for the very very very long camping session (about 10 hours), but we needed to keep it clear for our folk. FA was hostile and kill on sight for all the fighting/camping. YB was allowed to pass for many hours (off and on). Until 3 of them turned on us at the top. They thought I was the only one still there, but I had stealthed friends in case I was pushed or yanked off during porting. Shady indeed (they were acting all friendly while TC outnumbered them by large amount).

After that, truce was off for a while. Then later back on, but a male YB Guardian (honestly couldn’t tell if Human, Sylvari, or Norn) decided to attack our siege set in place for FA (twice). Truce was off again until FA pushed through with a stealthed Mesmer and cleared us out.

If it is any consolation, I got a lot of badges from the FA group that killed you (not an insult to FA. FA was just always so close they didn’t want to give up, and I thought they’d wipe us for sure, yet they kept dying and rezzing hoping their Mesmers would make it). Not so many badges from YB (since YB were either allowed to pass, or just not as numerous during the fighting periods).

On that note, in my opinion it’s really enjoyable to see peace in passing. Just today while passing through one of the borderlands, I was on a newer character of mine and was headed for one of the combat skill challenges. No allies were near, but an “enemy” happened to be near, who I ran up and stood next to then headed forward to engage peace mode. Our teamup made getting the skill point much easier.

There are plenty of situations where there is more to gain from instances of peace like that than what could be gained doing the opposite. In particular, “time” is the main reason I ever engage in peace. It’s pretty wasteful spending time in a battle that’s not going to lead up to your world gaining more points. I wish to be fast to get back to the real battle, and peace does achieve that speed.

The battle of redvale! Was crazy for about 4 hours! used about 45 blueprints today defending that place

A thumbs up to the Yaks Bend players who persisted for so long, and so hard, in FA BL to retake Redvale from us. That siege at Redvale supply camp went literally for hours, longer than most keep sieges!

Yes, a good day for battles in FA BL. We spent all day reinforcing and supplying, and it’s all coming down to these few moments. TC took the AH keep and mounted a massive golem rush on our Garrison, we managed to push them out but they keep coming back for more, we’ll see where it goes from here.

I’ll give it to TC they like banging their heads against the wall.

I like the blatent 2v1 day in and day out against FA quite classy however against all odds we will see who is the victor and if FA wins im gonna laugh so hard…. good thing there is no Lost Shore stuff this week so we will be rolling during the night hope you like spending 4g reupgrading keeps TC and YB : P
