Spacelord you crack me up man! We got caught way out of position and had some issues getting back inside to give you guys your due and proper defense… I’d cry about rendering but I won’t beat the dead horse as we both face it at different times. Our split force was kinda bleh, and yeah the pugs wiped fast along the way. I’m gonna have to add you to friends so I can flame ram you next time you’re out, I’ll scream out number 41 in map chat just for you.

But last night around 10pm EST there were around 30 or so Kains between wood and garrison. DR had about that many as well.

Kain had taken Wood (and most of the rest of DR BL) and was attacking our Garrison as well.

Not saying you were there, but there were several NOQQ there. It was an awesome 30 minute battle. We had the advantage and probably won because we spawned much closer to the battle.

As for top 10 on 10, I would not qualify, but you tell your number 41 ranked player I am waiting any time

That fight at Wood was fun, but our communication broke down and we lost some folks early on, but was still a great fight. You guys really brought it and took the tower!

We moved south to Briar after that and had some killer fights and managed to hold it for an hour or so. By then our people had logged and we were down to around 7 or 8 total (a few came and went) and PRO started running in force.

We were lucky to split your forces or it would have been curtains for us. Then we are catapulting the side wall of Woodhaven and half of the randoms decide to auto attack the front gate too….wow. All the while you guys were killing them from the flank.

We finally get the wall down, you guys have more AOE raining down on the opening than I have ever seen, and we have to scream in /s to stop auto attacking the front as the WALL IS DOWN ON THE SIDE…

I am inclined to disagree here. Being from DR, I can attest to the fact that Ferg has done an incredible job defending their borderlands from invaders. DR has attacked and Ferg responded multiple times. Granted, I feel like the general feeling on DR is to beat K into dust now. That bout of bad blood in this thread has settled in and many members of DR have taken the gloves off.

Fergs in-house communication must be amazing. AMAZING! and I don’t mean the kind of amazing that consists of A-team thinking they are the stars of the show and require their fannies to be polished. They respond pretty fast and with good numbers. The defense of Ferg is something that should be remembered. Look at their southern keeps and the Eyes crawling around the southern edge of the map. They came into this week with what appears to be a server wide plan, and stuck to it. Their efforts and team work are to be applauded and more importantly: Learned from.

They deserve some recognition.

I want to invade Ferg because I think that’s where you are going to get the best fights atm. Now I wonder how long it will be before K shows it’s true colors and attempts to invade Ferg at the same time as DR to weasel out of dead last.

Kain has no real choice but to attack ferg at this point to attempt to get second, which is mostly entirely upgraded thanks to almost a week of being ignored (except for yesterday as you guys decided to rip one of the keeps from ferg). So we probably wont try, and instead do what we do best is make a meatgrinder out of something, and cheer in victory at the hundreds of lootbags dropping at my feet.

Lol at “a week of being ignored.” That post about fighting an army of never-ending zombies is more like what was happening there most of the time. We just stay in our BL and actually upgrade as soon as possible (BTW, thank you to Chris, for spending so much on that).

If you read further into my post you will see why I like to fight ferg, and if you read back you will see further reasons, posted by me, that I enjoy Ferg.

Have I been in K? yes. just as I have been in Ferg. If K had a greeting party at its borders one fraction the size/skill/effectiveness of Ferg, K may be doing better.

Bottom line is that most people who want to match skill against other people and not AI will not long tolerate being stomped day in and day out. I thought there was some sort of balancing mechanism, but obviously whatever it is isn’t worth spit. This is why ppl transfer out. This is why people don’t log in anymore. No one likes to lose every single match on every single map, 24 hours a day. Add to that free transfers, and you get what you get.

idk, i don’t necessarily mind losing, i just don’t like uneven matches. I love great fights, but been too busy to play much, will be on this weekend but not for wv3, for SoS events. Also for the record, Kaineg has lost 99% of it’s matches, but we’re quite still proud.

I’d just like to give a shout out to Chris A. He and [NP] have really held the server together. We tried our new strategy this week thanks to him and it’s working incredibly well, and compared to the last few weeks of us getting destroyed it’s amazing how far we came. Of course their are others, Chris just happens to be the most active when I’m playing. Also Arachnophobia for life man.

Ferg definately has their kitten together this week, and holy crap are they fielding numbers! How that guy is managing to maneuver with a zerg/guild groups that large is amazing… We were facing 20+ to our front to get hit by 20+ behind, they fought us and DR off at Briar in their homeland tonight… Bad night for us to try new tactics lol. Bravo

We’ve always had a lot of good followers, but until recently there wasn’t much leadership. Having a few commanders, especially ones that are inclusive and patient with people, has really focused everyone. It’s all about setting the right goals — holding our borderlands feels like winning regardless of the scoreboard, and if morale stays good the numbers to do more will follow.

Well I got my butt kicked from 2 Envy Mesmers in 1v1’s early in my playtime today.. I’ve never been beaten 1v1 by a Mesmer (on my mes) so that was a learning experience. GG to both of you, Andromeda and whoever the other one was.

Later on in the night TRx fielded 7-10 guys and had a lot of epic battles on Kain bl which was a blast, thanks to all Kain/Ferg involved in those (even some 3 ways).

I really like this server matchup and really am not tired of it like some people have posted about being. I do hope Kain and Ferg can grab a few more guilds to make it more competitive in general but honestly I’m (and most of TRx) really in it for the open world PvP and we don’t really care a bit about the match scores. Kain and Ferg both really bring great PvP to us, so this is great.

I believe you are the guy I started a 1v1 with that ended up getting interrupted during our great battle then I /w’d you afterwards.. If this is the case, then yes he is a great Warrior and quite decent against Mesmers.

Ferg fighter here, i also want to give props to Chris and the other commanders. In our bottom tier matches with the limited numbers of players, a good leader makes all the difference.

Envy has some insanely good Mesmers, one of which runs solo protecting Ferg’s side of EB. I’m leveling a new Mesmer myself. I find myself going to Ferg’s side of EB now just to learn from this guy (usually at my own peril).

I’d also like to give props to Fergs this week. You guys are working together the way Kaineng used to, and it inspiring to watch. Server wide communication and teamwork is key. Or maybe, it’s the color red.

It’s taxing on a server to go down in rankings. You lose guilds, you lose players, and people lose their fighting spirit. DR went through this about 8 weeks back when PTX and FIST left the server, and they rebounded nicely. Kaineng’s going through it now.

It’s almost circular in nature, like a log caught under a waterfall. Some guilds are lucky enough to break free and keep on floating upstream (Northern Shiverpeaks, Borlis Pass) but others get stuck in a rotating pattern, sometimes being on top, other times being pushed back to the bottom.

Ahem. I haven’t had my coffee yet.

Anyhow, nice to see Fergs coming together after your recent losses and playing together as a unit. It’s inspiring to watch.

A bit more on how badly we needed leadership:

1) Here we are in September all jumping to our deaths because someone else did.
2) Same thing a month later, except the guy that jumped first had a commander icon. Only saw him once.

I finally see you and RevC in Eb last night. I think it was near ogre, I was running by some randoms and saw a fight under an archway, looked to be about 10 on 15 or so. I see the NOQQ tags and start checking for names, sure enough there are you and RevC.

Both sides kinda aoe the archway awhile and I was like OK thats enough I have to get atleast one hit on them lol

I charged through the archway and died of course soon afterwards, tabbed around and you guys were gone

I was so hoping to get my treb lol

I’ve had some great times in WvW this week. Mad props to both Fergies and Kains on being great opponents. We’ve had some pretty gnarly zergs completely wiped out by great defenses and a whole lot of “wtf just happened.” I’d like to share a couple of my favorite moments in the last couple days.

A little Asuran Thief (I think Kain, though he could of been a Fergie) harassing our zerg like nothing I’ve ever seen before. It was incredibly frustrating, but man did he pull it off like a champ. He’d appear, down someone, and bounce. Recovered from multiple stuns and immobilizes just to slip away and come back minutes later to repeat the same action. At first it was just a nuisance, but over the course of a half hour or so it really started to take its toll. Eventually, we were just outside a tower and were killing that Champion grub, and still this thief was relentless. Other enemy players came and went, most died, but not this little guy, you could only even see him when he was mid-gank. At some point during this fight that thief managed to pull 5-10 of us away from the zerg, still harassing, still impossible to catch or kill. And then for some reason we see him over the hill, staring at us. At this point, we wanted him dead. Beyond dead, we wanted to kill him so hard his toon un-leveled all the way to level 1 – I’m pretty sure he knew this, we advanced on him hard. As soon as we give chase he turns and runs, not stealthing this time mind you, and leads a good half of our force right into a large group of invaders across the bridge, right in front of another tower. We were decimated, our forces didn’t have the strength to take either of the towers (though we did take out the grub eventually), and it was all due to the efforts of one incredibly annoying Asuran Thief. Props to you, nameless invader.

The second story happened last night, and it was a moment of personal pride and fail all in one. Our zerg just stopped an assault on Durios, and recapped the Umberglade Supply Camp just east of it. All but myself left the supply camp, and I stuck around to try and fortify the camp with a Ballista that had just dropped off the Guild Supervisor. I drop it next to the supply and start building on my own. It was around 60% complete when I look up and see a horde of Kains looking at me menacingly. I keep building, but it doesn’t take long for the first Kain to charge in (naked with a greatsword, I might add) and start attacking my precious ballista. It’s about this moment when all hell breaks loose, it’s just me, a few NPC guards and a half-built ballista verses 10-15 Kains hell bent on wrecking my face. I’m going in and out of DS like a boss, I see someone fall and manage to pull off an execution, trying my best to fear people off my ballista and still try to build it all at the same time. I knew if I could get it up I could rain down at least some death, and I wasn’t about to give up that mission. The next kain falls right at the feet of the ballista, and someone was already trying to rez, so I fearbomb and execute. I know I won’t survive much longer, but the fight goes on. Finally I see a third down, try my best to get the execute but fall short and get put down myself. I’m promptly executed and swarmed, only to see my precious ballista destroyed before it could ever be born, as I lay lifeless on the ground. So while I held out longer than expected, I ultimately failed horribly, but for a few amazingly glorious minutes I soloed a Kaineng Zerg.

I appreciate the mention Going without armor has been liberating – it gets rid of that nagging self-consciousness I had about repair costs, and that’s worth more than any stat benefit to me. I don’t think I’m ever putting my armor back on…

You know I play on Kain and I must say, yes we are seriously outmanned but doesn’t that keep it interesting. I really hate the fact that people from our server have to trash talk DR and fergs, it makes us all look bad. I’ve noticed with Kain the problem is people on our server rather argue with each other, talk crap to our commanders saying their plans suck, their terrible commanders etc etc then try to put up a good fight. There is a select few guilds that keep at it and don’t want to give in, which I love that I am a part of one. Our problem at Kain is that we cant join together and put up a fight. Another issue is people in wvw start loosing on Kain and they give up or they transfer out. With that attitude you can go to the best server and I’m telling you now your not a winner. Your a loser who gave up and went to a server where you don’t have to really work for it. My point is sorry DR and Fergs were not all like that in Kain, and to Kain’s shut up and play! Stop arguing and stop giving our commanders a hard time who are trying!!! I don’t see you people coming up with any ideas. We in Kain really need to group up. We should take a lesson from ferg and DR and work harder as a server!

Not quite sure who really trashes FC in our server, at least publicly through map chat, but ok? I haven’t really encountered alot of the problems you have listed up personally so I can’t say, In fact instead of transfering out of Kaineg, I transfered into kaineg from a higher tier server. The only thing i agree on is, we are divided, more than i would like. I honestly don’t know alot of the commanders during our offshifts, if we even have any, and the only one’s i really know are from KAIN and evermore alliance. There’s only one commander i’ve had a problem with in Kaineg, but besides that, no real issue.

Also please take note that Kaineg was built on the foundation of players who came from higher tiers, and also new players who couldn’t get into other servers due to their max population. There will always be some who leave, but the main ones who are here, will probably be permanent.

About arguing with the commanders, that’s obviously a bad thing. It’s better to have one bad general than ten good ones making different good calls. But having a commander not listening and acting on information can be very frustrating.
I want to apologize to Sbullet who we had a little dustup with the other day and say that I respect anyone running around with that commander thingie trying to make a difference. We love being on Kaineng and we’re not going anywhere.

SoS. As far as ENVY is concerned (and i’m pretty sure the whole server), we wouldn’t ally with DR for —anything-- even short term. For example, I like all the members of [TRX] but the fact that they are on Devona’s is still abhorrent to me and earns them kos status like the rest (Except Dank and Ozzy bc they rock). If anything I personally choose to kill DR over Kain in any three sided fight. Don’t give up just because DR decided to demoralize you guys on purpose. You still have NoQQ rolling around like a wrecking ball keeping up the fight but it seem’s their support has waned significantly from their allies. As we’ve seen from Chris Ivey from NP on Ferg’s side, singular guilds can accomplish great things, even without huge numbers.

Fergs or Kain’s… or who you fought for… w3 has become a blur… i thought it was a great monment when we circled at first… about to do battle… then you just relaxed and sat down.. i laughed out loud… that was very kool of you… i was disappointed when someone charged up the steps at us and ruined that moment… that was the funniest thing since i was FlameRamed by [NoQQ] or since Elvis Keen said “Kitten that… im throwing down 8 Golems… lets go cap that Kitten” … so whoever you are… you have my respect

You guys hit us very hard I believe it was Wednesday, wiping everything but Garrison and we held you guys off there. So we did the same yesterday, our guild/server rolled over to Kain with golems and wiped all 3 keeps.

But as I stated, I don’t want to fight Kain. But I can’t sit there and tell my guild, and our server to bend over and take it when 50+ SoS are invading us and hitting 2 keeps at the exact same time with golems. But overall, if you’re complaining about people doing camps and so on, that is out of our hands.

Devona is the massive problem here, with their tons of skill/organization they’re flooding through every map with. Not each other.

Devona now has sporadic queues for eternal, I don’t know what the world has come to.

Third time I’ve encountered a queue in the two months I’ve been playing.

I know two groups of us were up around astralhome in Ferg early last night and some great fights against a ton of Ferg finally at one point. Took a while for that camp to be flipped back but was a lot of fun.

We went to kain for a little bit as well before heading to EB to play in one of your towers but unfortunately some of the pugs didnt get the memo that we wanted to play and so it was short lived.

Hats off to Ferg, no doubts there. An amazing defense and an even more impressive display of teamwork. I’m Envious. 1st, 2nd, or 3rd. doesn’t matter, you guys got a very big win this week. You over came the “number game” with outstanding success, imo.

Congratulations Chris, for getting out there and seemingly turning around the mindset of a server packed with people who almost gave up. Props to the folks who stepped up and supported Chris, I know he didn’t do it alone, there are a large number of guilds who fought tooth and nail to keep the boat afloat. And a heartfelt thank you to all those who gave up and came back to fight, without bitter excuses.

But I can’t sit there and tell my guild, and our server to bend over and take it when 50+ SoS are invading us and hitting 2 keeps at the exact same time with golems. But overall, if you’re complaining about people doing camps and so on, that is out of our hands.

Devona is the massive problem here, with their tons of skill/organization they’re flooding through every map with. Not each other.

problem is by wednesday Devona’s so far ahead in points that attacking them is pointless if we want second.

We have to attack you. I hope you don’t take that personally.

I know two groups of us were up around astralhome in Ferg early last night and some great fights against a ton of Ferg finally at one point. Took a while for that camp to be flipped back but was a lot of fun.

We went to kain for a little bit as well before heading to EB to play in one of your towers but unfortunately some of the pugs didnt get the memo that we wanted to play and so it was short lived.

You just came in at the wrong point :P Our golems were walking clockwise around the map and hit your tower just after you flipped it. Just bad timing.

Draygo, I won’t deny that attacking us is the tactically smart thing to do. But we may not have the numbers but we sure as hell have the skill and the will to protect our homeland!

I donno, about you guys, but I really enjoy fighting an enemy with more numbers (not like Darkhaven more numbers mind you). It makes it feel like a victory even holding your own borderlands. It makes it a challenge protecting your own fair weather players to ensure you have some residual defense when you log off. That said I still vote that more elite players join Ferguson’s crossing so that we may be the server of skill and will and let the numbers stay with other servers. Join the dark side, we have cookies.
