Sea of Sorrows, our server, our home, has been world champions of WvW for 5 weeks in a row now. This is longer than any server has ever held the #1 position. Our Legacy is secure. Our 2012 goal has been attained.

[MERC] values strong, loyal and committed members. However, we believe that for the long term sustainability of our guild, our members should also be encouraged to have stable and balanced lifestyles and strong bonds to their friends and families in real life. Only through treasuring those we love, can we draw the strength to fight during the hardest of times.

In the coming week, the leave applications of many MERC commanders, officers and players in the guild have already been authorized. In fact, we encourage it as an organization of responsible and mature gamers. So in the coming week of Christmas and New Year celebrations, [MERC] encourages all players of WvW to cool off from the blood daily battles. Christmas and New Year is a time we should all step back from our hectic battles and spend quality time with our loved ones so that we can reflect on and treasure those whom we love and have been fighting for so hard in life.

Let’s enjoy our well-deserved rest and tear them a new one next year.

Take it easy. He obviously wasn’t trying to offend anyone. It’s pretty amusing that you would call someone a cultural imperialist because they said Merry Christmas and Happy New Year on a forum for a game primarily catering to NA, EU, Australia and NZ.

Are you worried that if you lose and you don’t tell all of us ahead of time that you’re ‘allowing’ people to take a break, that we will all think your server died?

We won’t. We don’t care if you win 6 or 7 weeks in a row or 5 weeks in a row. You guys did great. Even if you lost full force, no shame in that. Why even put this out there?

I know that personally, if SoS were to fall from 1st place, I’d still think they were the best WvW server of this past month. Now, after reading what you wrote, I’m not so sure.

Sounds like you’re saying that you won’t have superior numbers next week and without that advantage you think you might drop from first. That sure doesn’t sound like a great ‘legacy’ to me. Sounds like you can’t win without your full force to overpower everyone…

Now, I can’t wait for next week. We’ll see how good you guys really are, player for player, without the 3 rolling zergs and 2 portal teams and 10 stationary defenders per tower.

In other words, we’ll see how well you do when your numbers are equal to ours. In many ways, this victory will be twice as satisfying because finally we’ll see how you guys stack up with OUR level of participation. Get ready for 2 weeks of 150 PPT, SoS. You’ll be lucky to have any pug players left come new years.

I’m sure all servers will have a decrease in numbers. Though apparently this will be the first time MERC will have a few offline for a couple days, judging by the “accepted leave applications”.

So like always SBI got 2v1ed. We were down to Veloka and our keep. While we were fighting JQ zerg in Veloka, the SoS zerg skip our keep and came attack us from behind. After killing most of us, SoS pulled back and let JQ finish the job.

Well played. Very well played. As if we being outmanned wasn’t enough.

I wasn’t there but its something I would do. Hit the team that is coming 2nd place. Especially since you’ve had that thief of yours constantly jumping the keep walls and flipping them. Seeing a SBI name tag just reminds me of him.

Props to StrikeForce (SF) because I believe they will not defend a tower he has flipped. I tip my hat to your sportsmanship.

Thank you sir, we do not promote any of that game play so much that we have actually relocated our whole team to different maps because of this. I want nothing near an SF tag that may give someone the thought that we play like that. We prefer proper kittening people, not backdooring with shady tactics.

other than that its been a good battle this week. People are feeling the drain of summer holidays (SoS being a oceanic server) you will not see many of us on next week. I predict we will be beaten extremely badly with most of us heading off on holiday to beaches etc.

It’s been about 2 weeks from a mass reporting. I am shocked his account hasn’t been banned yet. At this point, I don’t think Anet gives a kitten about WvW.

Based on his comments in /map the other day, I believe you are correct. The fact that he has been reported multiple times and nothing has happened yet is frustrating.

I find Anet’s concerns of my character names over that of exploiter/hacker to be sad. Brothel Babe was just too much!

If you look at the ratings of each server, we are ahead of the top European server. In fact, both JQ and SBI are ahead of VS.

Ratings only matter regarding teams of the same bracket. Since NA teams only fight NA servers, the ratings on NA cannot be compared to EU server ratings.

Stories of JQ’s morale faltering of late have been going around, and I just wanted to throw out an “AWESOME JOB” to all the commanders, strategists, and players who have dedicated their game time to JQ’s WvW effort.

Its been an honor working with you guys and building the community we love. We may not take first, but we’ve been in t1 longer than anyone else and with your guys’ help, I hope we keep it that way!

I’d also like to throw out a “well done” to SoS and SBI, I may hate your guts and relish taking your stuff in game, but you guys have given us more of a challenge than any other servers so far.
