Northern Shiverpeaks Vs Sorrows Furnace Vs Eredon Terrace
Good luck to all, have fun, and keep thread clean please (Meaning no calling out, saying this and that is a hacker etc. etc.) ^-^
Edit: Woops, got my dates mixed up, edited title to right date…hope nobody saw that >_>)

I can already say I am extremely disappointed with SF.
._.
SF, I am dissapoint.
Way to cap everything during an event guys. Too cool! lol
Show up then. Should we just sit and let your stuff stand there undefended?

Haha would have been nice, looks like SF’s PvE side wins again, this server seems less and less wvw friendly every week.

I know that feels bro. All that feels.
Score update? Is ET beating SF? The posts here make it seem like SF just died, lol.
Its pretty messy. It (this) is the closest its been since the first hour.

ET doesn’t even have more then 10 people bothering to fight as of a few hours ago. Sadly, I’ve made the difficult decision to move to another server in hopes of finding enough players who will enjoy WvW to make a battle possible. :/
Heck, if your looking for a server that cares about WvW come to NSP. We are recovering from a few guilds leaving because “they thought” they would do better on a night cap server. The couple guilds we have left that are serious about WvW are running this place.

We would love to have you on NSP. Would make sense we were both abandoned by the same alliance and forced to rebuild. Come on over, we have punch and pie.
And you SF guys gave us some great battles tonight, we were just way more coordinated, we planned for tonight ahead of time and came out the gates looking to paint the world green and for a short while we did. Who knows what will happen tomorrow, good luck to all during this match I hope to see some more great battles no matter the outcome.
And to ANET, please do not every increase match length over into two week matches, that is going to be too long for whomever is on the losing end of the stick.
Simply put after what NSP did to us last week (being they give blue team the win to the point of only come after SF players as they where trying to take something from DB) “I” (not sure if others feel this way) do not wish to play with you any more. Enjoy the free win.
Not sure why folks have their pants in a bunch. WvW is each and every night… forever, well as far as I plan to look into the future. Even someone who PvP’s as much as I do likes to explore new content.
This is what our third week with NS? ET seemed to be fielding even less then SF. All and all if you are going to have a PvE weekend, this one seems like a good choice. Besides if NS wants to pour it all on and show us they are tactical masters of empty maps, fill their boots. Enjoy tier 4
I can’t count how often we have been close to capturing something only to have team 3 come over the horizon and wipe us out and then take it themselves. Its a three way battle, that’s what happens. That happened to us last week from both DB and SF, its part of the game. It wasn’t like there as some huge conspiracy against anyone, its just the way the coin rolls in this type of battlefield. Its also not our fault that server x and y didn’t bring all their players to the party. During the Halloween event we got rolftstomped by the other teams, but hey those of us who enjoy it still come out for WvW and enjoyed ourselves, we event had some epic battles and wiped out 4-5 times our numbers several times just by playing smart.
Yeah, SF won’t be doing much this Weekend, and because of the new dungeon, there will be fewer players than normal for the rest of the week. Perhaps toward the later half of the week, we’ll put up fights, but for the time being, I’m hanging out in the new content. WvW will be there Monday.
Please don’t try to recruit people into your servers on here, take it else where, this type of “Sniping” Really disgusts me, especially when that “Sniping” is you taking it from a lower server and posting it all over the battle thread.
Thank you for understanding.

The smart thing to do would have been to deploy EVERYONE on a weekend like this because you can expect the other servers to be suffering, even though i could not field all 45 players online in my guild i got around 30 to come, sadly we were the only large guild on the battlefield (from what I saw I could be wrong) until 4 hours after reset, when people started to trickle in.
Reset happens once a week FoTM is now a PERMANENT addition to GW2.

Smart I suppose if your goal was the score board. I would guess that last night was rather boring for NSP play wise, not withstanding the odd good fight.
I play to have great fights, great defenses and to kill people, or die trying. Intentionally taking advantage of a servers down time to have a higher score is a false representation of our servers ability on the battlefield, imo.

I don’t know what else to say other than “Show up.” We have the same event. We have the same community that is doing pve all day. We DON’T have the numbers you think we have. We have 1 WvW group on a couple maps that have a few stragglers following them. Quit complaining and play imo.

Not sure what else to say but, ‘learn to read’? Seriously, read the post you quoted, the person’s response to me, and then ask yourself what your comment had to do with the discussion. The only thing I complained about was my own faction getting upset because people are PvEing this weekend. You can paint the server green for the entire week if you like, just makes it at target rich environment for me to play in.
http://mos.millenium.org/matchups#NA just updated some scores and while it’s still very early, it looks like there is a chance that the next match in this tier might be HoD/SF/ET. That would be interesting. I think it’s more likely that ET and BP swap places though.
An SF HOD ET matchup would be completely one sided.
Glad not to be getting punched in the face from both ends (DB/SF) like we was getting last week. SF can’t hide behind DB this week. Yes New PvE event, bla bla bla, what ever, same PvE event for eveyone. Come out fight for what you lost.
NSP4lif3!
Lol @ SF without DB

I do not think anyone from Os should be smack talking about anything PvP related.
I saw some South of Heaven folks on NS, same SoH from Aion/Lumiel?
I don’t understand the hard feelings in here towards NSP. Nothing new with the event came about in the hours around reset and everyone should be aware of the importance of the first few reset hours.
You say NSP doesn’t want good fights and that’s why they were in wvwvw at reset taking everything. I say the other worlds obviously didn’t want good fights if they didn’t show up for all the reset claiming (especially when, as I said, nothing new came out during that time and the rest of the weekend awaited for fractals).

I looked over the thread again and I do not see hard feelings towards NSP other then maybe one post.

My bad, I guess I just took your word for it:
Not sure why folks have their pants in a bunch.
That was to my server, responding to the fact that everyone was upset that folks were PvEing. Unless there are posts above by NS about their PvEing, I do not think it could be taken as anything towards NS.
Just to say about the people “complaining” that Eredon Terrace is not showing up: Last night we held 2 keeps and 2 towers. We held them for a long time. However Sorrows Furnace started to lose ALOT of ground on the other map in their Borderland. Soon, Sorrows Furnace had litteraly nothing, so then Northern Shiverpeaks more focused on us. We still held NS off well for a long time. Had some good battles defending our towers.
I’m really proud of how much NSP came together and out this weekend in wvw during the event, that being said this is going to be a long week hope we can get some good fights…and also as some have said but NSP please stop trying to take players from ET, they already lost a ton and are struggling, plus were playing against them let’s have some courtesy towards our enemy…SF you haven’t showed at all compared to last 3 weeks, Event is no excuse for the performance so far
More on the lines we are bored with playing with NSP you took us down with you last week and the week before that we do not want to play with you any more. Also there events going on and well we are a pve world so enjoy the free win live it up.

No, you lost because you could not be NSP and DB. We lost because we could not be SF & DB. No one brought anyone down.

I have to agree with the recruitment from our current enemies, please just don’t. Its disrespectful, and we were not too pleased when it happened to us.
As for what I’ve seen on the field so far this weekend….
ET: There just hasn’t been any pressence. I can’t judge your abilities on what I’ve seen of you, because I’m still waiting for you to show up.
SF: I have mixed feelings on what happened to you. Yes, I do believe you are having issue with folks PvE’ing, but there has got to be more to it. That made me go back over the strats I watched you preform in the last 2 weeks. I’ve seen you cap many locals using DB to your advantage. Whether that be, back dooring, or cross mapping after thier assualt is commited. I don’t think NSP is to blame for your drop in rank, sorry.
NSP: Coordination has stepped up a level, not a big jump, but I can say, I have seen an improvement. I see alot more people asking how to do things right now, rather then just doing randomly flailing around wildly.
All in all, every server has faults, and we need to look inward to fix them. We each have greatness waiting to explode onto the field. I for one, am looking forward to that day from NSP.

since when did we drop ranks? weve been in this tier pretty much since launch (and according to the matchup webiste, were going to stay in this tier).
i wont comment on the whole pve thing, but i will point one thing out: we played sanctum of rall 3 weeks in a row before, and we beat them the first time, and then lost the other 2 times by very wide margins.
theres any number of reasons why our serv is doing poorly this week, and i dont believe pve is the sole reason
Sorrow’s might be having a hard time right now but overall I have a lot of respect for you guys. My guild has been having some great 5v5/small group battles with you over the past couple of weeks and have really enjoyed it!
As to the “state of the realms”, I personally do not hold a lot of stock in those “ranking” numbers. Speaking from my entire past experience with WvW in GW2, I have never seen a match won by anything other than a server who can front a bigger zerg for the most consecutive hours…pretty much PvE raiding their way through keeps. To me, this type of “PvP” requires no skill and can be accomplished by anyone with enough bodies and catapults to overwhelm any opposition. IMO, the real skill in WvW is the small group fight that really test a players ability…especially when there isn’t a 20 man zerg behind you to back you up.
BUT, those are just my thoughts….either way its been good fighting you Sorrows and hope to see more of you out there this week!
In all WvW/FvF/RvR games, population balance is hinged on casuals, always has been. When you are losing, casuals are off doing whatever, when you are winning casuals are out in droves. Add in a new PvE event or an all <color X> map and the shift will move harder in those respective directions.
We have our main WvW guild moving, so they are likely not putting all their effort into things this week. OBEY looks like is playing both sides, if you ask them none of them have a clue what is going on, and I had to tell one of them to stop reporting NSP spy reports to chat. Few other guilds that were active last week, haven’t seen this week so maybe they transferred off.
Regardless, population shifts are what they are, getting worked up or worrying about them is pointless. Go out, have fun, kill stuff.
Come on guys, the last two weeks have been decent battles. SF beat us last week and we gave great praise to you. Sorry that your guys did not show up this week but don’t blame us for wanting to WVW. I can assure you we do not enjoy PvDoor.
There has been a huge amount of respect between SF and NSP. Lets not give up on that now. Fun jabs are just part of the game but this blame game sound like a childish tantrum.
Regardless who wins, lets have some great battles like we did last week!

I do not see anyone blaming NSP or assuming that they enjoy PvDoor. Why do you NS folks keep interjecting like your being put upon when the thread is more about us bashing ourselves? If you need to feel included I could toss in some trash talking?
Let me know.

This is pretty much what happened, imo. The turnout just wasn’t high enough at the reset because of the PvE. Frankly, the notion that “Oh, well NSP has the same event, no excuse” wasn’t the excuse. The excuse is that our population, which is different from all the other server populations, decided to PvE rather than WvW. Congrats to NSP for getting a large turnout (truly) on the reset. However, because of the huge blowout on the weekend, the casual players aren’t going to even bother and its even harder to organize since (as I’ve been told) we’re the “unofficial” Latin server. That’s just how it is. You’ll find the WvW guilds doing what they can to keep bettering themselves, but when it comes to server competition, it’s just not going to be there for this week. It’s why Terror will be leaving for more competitive play; it gets boring flipping supply camps.

This is sadly very true. But, NSP did not come out of the gate with the intention of taking such a lead. Last week we got trashed right off the bat and spent the entire week trying to catch up. Our attempt was to avoid this situation.
Unfortunately, this means it will not be a great week for WVW for any of us. Oh well, at least we have the event to keep us occupied!

So Terror is leaving because of the way this week is, or because this may indicate a lack of dedicated interest in wvwvw and future event weeks will probably be similar?
Niim, I would like to address a few things you have said.
For one, I would like to inform you that you are on another server and can not actually see what is happening on ours from the outside.
For two, I would like to know your reasoning behind saying Os has no right to talk about PVP, considering we are a WvW based guild and this friday we fielded about 45 people in preparation for a good fight in Eternal. If you were there at the beginning of the night, you would have seen similar numbers of us to you, although Eredon was non-existent.
At the SF keep, we used around 20 people to hold back forces from your spawn while 15 took the rest of the map and another 10 took care of other borderlands.
Now, this 20 people we had were sometimes, at the beginning of the week, holding off 30-50 people at a time from spawn until the morale lowered and the mass dispersed.
I saw similar numbers upon entering WvW, the difference is, 1. We did not have a third entity pushing into our lands (DB) and 2. we, as a guild, and in the Resilience alliance, have organized better and better each week.
Now, being a server that has lost a 1000 man alliance, bounced back with guilds entering from other servers, just to have those guilds leave last week due to losing or dying, I think we did just fine before the morale of SF was lost and the zerg dispersed.
Also, the under dealings of OBEY show us exactly what the SF server is made of. OBEY is one of the main and most populated guilds I have seen in WvW and it is clear to me now what NSP did wrong in the last few weeks, we used shout chat too much to control the pugs, and therefore, letting the obey spies (Whom we have seen and you have mentioned) know too much of the information and plans.
This week, we decided to keep our plans vent-side and OBEY had pretty much no clue what was happening. This also gave us an extra leg up on friday.
We do not go into our weeks expecting to win, as a guild. We go in, expecting competition and it is what we fight for. hacking, spying, and cheating is against everything we like to do in game. It would simply be unenjoyable if we did such and many of us can’t fathom why OBEY would be so desperate to win as a whole verses have a legitimately fun match.
This is why os guild, despite the population issues on our server, has never left. We have fun every week killing people, win or lose. NSP as a server is never “Desperate” to win. We think it is funny that SF gave up the first night and decided to PVE instead, sure, but we did not go in expecting that.
In fact, since Eternal battlegrounds had no que on Friday night, we went in expecting to be outmanned since SF was shown last week to be able to field more people than us. I am proud of what we did on Friday and how we handled the spy issues and I don’t think there is any validity to your statements about NSP and Os guild. NSP isn’t desperate for a win or points. You guys kind of just gave it to us willingly. Most of us didn’t expect to be able to leisurely enjoy the PVE content by monday, many of us planned to actually miss the events this weekend in order to WvW as we have planned, because we were looking for the fight SF had been giving us in the past two weeks.
So, I have concluded either it is in fact the casual and PVX players that compose most of the population of SF, or Dragonbrand, since we originally pushed them thinking SF less of a threat, which you are, got mad at us for the push and stayed on us very heavily most of the week. Not thinking of these things before Friday night and not originally realizing about the OBEY spy feed, we overcompensated taking these reasons above for actual server-wide population and prowess. Sorry if you are offended that we took Friday night too seriously, we did not know that WvW halted the minute new PVE content comes out, it’s not our main event as a guild.
I’m in between classes right now and am bored in the lounge, can you tell? XD Good job NSP, now we can relax for a while!
Also thank you all our new allied guilds, LOM and such, you did awesome!
Sheesh Toble. I think that is the most you have ever wrote in a single post! But, well said.
I would like to stress one point Toble touched on; NSP is not set on winning at all cost. In our last NSP Community meeting it was firmly agreed by the Guilds/Players that are still here, that we are looking to have a good time when we are in WVW. It was very heartening to hear so many agree on this point. Not too many servers can say they same. Win or lose, we will try to give the best challenge we can. I think we proved that last week.
HEY HEY.
That is most definitely not the longest, Rai, just you wait! (I have lots of boring and long classes next semester!)
I’m glad more and more guilds are getting the picture and are actually enjoying it here too. It’s nice to have a new alliance forming and getting back on track with what really matters, which is not winning, but fighting hard, fighting fair, and a little more fighting. (fighting)
Resilience!
I also have the ability to type 100+ WPM so that helps with the long posts too!
