Alright. I just have to say that GoM is doing a fine job of defending their keep thus far. We’ve [DH] been attacking it for 4 hours now. In no particular order…

1.) Trebs from Mendon
2.) Rams at Water Gate
3.) Trebs from Anz Hill
4.) Trebs from Island in the Lake
5.) Rams at Front Gate
6.) Catas at West Gate
7.) 15-Golem Rush (this one actually got us to the Lord Room)
8.) Second 10-Golem Rush
9.) More Rams at Water Gate

Clearly, you guys are determined to hold on the keep & Veloka Tower. Nonetheless, we will persevere. Good fight!

Edit: After a final 25-Golem Rush (Of which a few were Omegas), we were finally able to take GoM Keep! Well fought.

P.S. In the time we took to siege GoM Keep, HoD was able to retake their entire side of EB.

I wish I was there. That sounds like such a fun defense. Although, defending GoM BL last night was pretty crazy also.

So DH sent 50 Golems at GoM today, and HoD sent 30 at us yesterday. Here is hoping that you do not try to one up each other again… Wait, is there a golem slayer achievement?

Believe it or not, I think you forgot a golem rush. Between the 15 and the 10 I seem to recall an attempt with a single golem to break the damaged gate. There were so many golems in the first rush that they were culling and I thought there were “only” eight. I jumped up on the ramparts to see the 10 golem rush, hit the group a couple of times, but then had to log off to get to work.

This was what I had been wondering. A few weeks back it looked to me like you and DH were going to switch places in short order, then both our tiers seemed to tighten up a bit; we pulled DH back down a bit and you guys looked to have gained some ground in your matchup as well.

Then this week started with you guys taking a big drop, so it kind of got me wondering.

It’ll be interesting to see what next week brings…

Looking forward to it. Don’t think I’ve had the pleasure of fighting either server.

Several weeks back, we had an NSP/GoM/AR match-up that was pretty rad. Good fights and nice people all around. The only thing I’m not looking forward to about playing against NSP again is the strong off-peak crew, though. You guys are going to get a ton of easy pvdoor points from both GoM and HoD, and that’s just no fun. But we’ll be looking forward to the rematch, regardless.

That, and I believe Rob still owes me a duel.

DH, I hope you guys do well in T6. I honestly think you might win the tier. Just throw 50 more golems at them and watch them melt. If I had to guess (and this is little more than a guess), they will match your numbers, but I think your tactics will be better.

This is probably because DH wants to push the gap between 1st and 2nd place for the point tally to move up a tier. If HoD was in second, i’m sure they’d be doing the same thing to them.

Where do I begin? My father was a relentlessly self-improving boulangerie owner from Belgium with low grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery. My mother was a fifteen year old French prostitute named Chloe with webbed feet. My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. My childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we’d make meat helmets. When I was insolent I was placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds…

It was during one of the beatings when an episode of The Brady Bunch was playing on the television. Little Cindy had told a lie and she was not beaten with reeds. I realized that my entire childhood had was nothing but madness, and I vowed revenge.

Patiently I plotted for the next 20 years for the perfect moment. They say revenge is a dish best served cold… Well this would be sub-zero… There were moments when I thought my scheming had all been for naught, fortunately, the egos of the Titan Alliance were all too easy to manipulate into self-destruction. With TA out of the way Henge of Denravi slowly descended through the rankings (or was it simply unnoticed stalking of my prey?) evil snicker

On the way down I planted the seeds of descent in Darkhaven, knowing that I had found the perfect instrument of my revenge! Kaineng proved a minor speedbump in my plan, but it would soon be worth it! Finally, the stage was set Darkhaven v. Gates of Madness v. Henge of Denravi. The deception required victory in the first matchup to avert suspicion. Now the time to strike is at hand! DH and HoD, with our combined strength we will smite the Gates of Madness and end a lifetime of torment!

Or… Maybe this is just a 3 way matchup and EVERYONE is going to be 2v1’d at some point.

Seriously though, thoroughly enjoyed this matchup the last several weeks. DH you’ll be missed. Here’s to hoping NSP v DH v HoD will be as much fun, maybe a little more evenly matched…. pretty please

This, though, if I had to guess. People often forget that the aim in WvW isn’t always to kill people. I often run by individuals, groups of people, zergs, if it’s not the time for a battle. Sadly, WvW is often treated as something much more similar to sPvP.

But really though—great fun against both you servers. I know the same matches over and over again can get really frustrating for the 2 that don’t win, but you guys have been awesome. After the drubbing we were getting for months on end before settling in T7, you guys really indirectly helped foster a new sense of DH pride and WvW desire by being great opponents.

@HoD: Another SM golem rush? Ugh. Not sure how ready for the jump we are if we keep letting that happen to us. Guess it didn’t help that GoM was in the middle of an Overlook golem rush.

There’s been some serious T7 meta evolving this week. Golems are all the rage. Not sure if HoD will be ready for this.

So this might possibly be our last week together??

Now is the time….the time for you to join forces and keep us in this tier….

You descended in the rankings. That was all part of our evil plan to destroy the Gates of Madness. We don’t care if you guys have a consensus on what color tapestries you put in your keep. Although, I would suggest a crimson or something similar, it will hide all the blood splatter from the battles better.

Now, we can substitute your change—seed of dissent—in if it makes you feel better in your role as grammar police of the internet, but that makes absolutely no sense in context. So I’ll stick with the original.

That’s pretty outrageous given how expensive it would be to transfer to DH and back to original server, unless you’re implying that your own people have been playing for the other team all along (and if so why not just join the server they’re intent on helping for some inexplicable reason than linger on your server). Otherwise that would involve two accounts, and that’s even more money than the transfers would cost. Paranoid doesn’t even begin to describe things at that point.

I really hope that the seed of paranoia was implanted in your guys’ heads from some troll who doesn’t even understand the fundamentals of the game. We’re tier 7 here, if someone was THAT insane about WvW they would have joined Jade Quarry ages ago and left us all in a better place for their departure.

About the whole 20 DH vs. 10 HoD…. and you wonder why HoD left them be? Maybe because of math. And 5 GoM? Again… math. SOMEONE from that 10+ HoD group is going to think, “Hey there’s five of you… easy prey.” That’s how it goes every single time. I like to work with small groups as opposed to big zergs and I should know, I get ganked by 3 GoM thieves, a mesmer, and say a guardian for variety all the time. And they had to pass 10+ DH on their way. OBVIOUSLY they’re working together. Or, again, it could be math. :P

That’s exactly the point and is testament to how well GoM fought in that 5-hour siege. After trying numerous different strategies to bring down the keep and having it all fail, it created a crazy paranoia that there might be spies among the DH ranks. Needless to say, that was all there is to that concept of spies. It’s just a paranoia and is based off nothing.

With the spy paranoia, DH Commanders proceeded to employ covert opts to take the keep. The covert opts failed as well as we were pushed back once more by the GoM defense. After that, the DH army just lost it and decided to employ Brute Force via throwing gold at the keep and employing dozens of golems. Needless to say, it was one of the most memorable sieges ever and was indeed great fun.

This is a bug. Somehow, sometimes not all guards switch to the new server after being capped, and what you end up having is a single renegade guard that spawns and attacks everyone around it.

Could make for some great “defend the keep/tower/etc.” karma farming

The battles tonight were very peaceful. There were not much resistance or offensives from either HoD or GoM the past few hours. Even the mighty GoM keep that created the epic siege yesterday was very lightly defended (only 2 GoM Defenders). Thus, the keep fell with only 1 ram (outer gate) & 2 catapults (inner wall). This is most likely the effect of the weekdays coming in.

That being said, we would like to give a special mention to GoM Guild HH (who is arguably one of the best GoM Oceanic-Asiatic timezone Guild) for leaving behind guild buffs at the keep. DH will use these buffs to further strengthen our ranks.

Edit: With the peacefulness of EB & the buffs from HH, the DH Army decided to take out the lesser-tackled enemies that threaten the land. The Champion Spirit was very powerful and nearly destroyed the Darkhaven Army. But by the gods, we persevered & triumphed!

Edit 2: The immortal grub was next on the agenda. Needless to say, the combined forces of the Darkhaven army was able to defeat this hated foe. In fact, one of our commanders even earned the moniker Gabriel Hawkins the “Wurm Slayer”.

P.S. In the time it took us to kill the immortal grub, GoM was able to successfully retake its keep. Thus, the time to siege once more is upon us.

i noticed something weird as well.. when i went to eb ( im from gom ) and saw 2 dh invaders way up by our spawn dead. they were red named as invaders. they had the dead ally icon above them and showed on my map as dead allies. it was very weird.. then when i caught up with my HH buddies and of course dived into battle to kill a few only to be killed myself and wp back, then it was normal dead enemies in the spawn area and the dead ally icons disappeared.

Dark Haven has been working super hard to move up a tier! I know im pumped to get a change of scenery. Now that the hard work has paid off im sure dark haven as a whole will be on fire looking to establish itself as a WvW force to be Reckoned with!

It was great fighting Gates and Henge , some good times!

I have had fun in this match as well. Never a dull moment in WvW for us these past few weeks. Plenty of good fights, some lost, some won. After all, WvW without fighting is kind of like… crafting. If things go as they seem to be going at the moment, then best of luck and if not I will resharpen the pixels that make up my blades.

Interesting. In vale today we had an Unknown “friendly” who seemed to be able to rez the hostile camp supervisor. The rezzing seemed to be happening too fast to be a stealth rez by a thief. I kept doing death blossoms over the supervisor just in case. We thought it might be a hack, but apparently not.

So… beware of friendlies who can rez hostiles… in addition to Greeks bearing gifts.

Perhaps they are saving up their vitriol for when they have to deal with BP and AR.

DH, your best defense against the BP/AR forum warriors is to focus their attention on each other. A great line for this is “BP is not winning due to numbers, it is due to skill.” This will whip AR into a righteous frenzy, and force them to focus BP. That one saved GoM a couple of times.

Agreed. As much as we like our pals over on DH and HoD, they’re too quiet on the forums. Hopefully, NSP can step it up.

Not true! Remeber last week when we went on for two pages bickering amongst ourselves!!! And making accusations!!!!

I am sure everyone is too busy HONING THEIR MINDS INTO RAZOR SHARP IMPLEMENTS in order to handle the coming trials!

Everyone is very excited. I had a little peek in the T6 thread earlier though and it seems like there’s only 4 people that were posting so I hope for HoD and GoM’s sake at least one of them was on NSP.
