2 vs 1 Server planned matchup. Is this legal?
Of course they are teaming up against FSP. Because I recently moved there and now they are (rightfully) afraid that they refer to such methods. Cuz I struck fear in the heart of my enemies MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Everybody has their delusions
Chronomancy works, I am proof of it. Now stop asking me questions. Time must be preserved!
Gandara isn’t teaming up with anyone, we couldn’t organize a kitten up in a brewery.
This is quite funny really.
Having commanded on reset night for about 12 hours on EB we had the same idea regarding FS and Gandara haha. Every time we dare to venture close to a FS tower Gandara would hit wild creek. IF we went anza or Mendons Fs would hit Golanta and then move to Klovan Or jerrifers. At one point we had 30 FS at Klovan attacking our tower and 40 Gandara attacking another . It was madness
We were getting double teamed crazy but we managed it. IF anything needs to be mentioned its the NUMEROUS tower glitching that Gandara are doing. Ive seen in Twice myself how a mesmer just appears inside our wall and a whole Gandara blob jsut gets portaled in. It looked like pugs so im not going to try and name and shame a guild on a guess. BUt this group would arrive on our borderlands and the first indication of towers being contested is when there is swords in the LORDS ROOM.
This is incredibly unfair. We were fighting at Mendons on EB struggling our kitten off to take this tower and at attempt number 4 a random voice on TS asked if he should get into the tower to portal us up.. The rage thrown towards this person was so bad that he quit. Why on earth cant other servers play this fairly.
Other servers are using such a tactic. Seeing a systematic zerg attack from DH and FC last night was more proof of that against GoM as both simultaneously attacked both Hills and Bay. Another instance was a GoM zerg attacking a FC zerg at Quentin Lake things were ok, until a DH zerg showed up and wiped us from the other side. Bad luck you might think, but seeing how the DH and FC zerg parties split up and did not attack one another. Well, draw your own conclusions.
That being said, by current standards, its not illegal do such a thing, in fact I’m surprised no one has done this before. Maybe the expected rewards of the WvW Season is driving desperate servers to ally themselves.
My suggestion to fix the 2v1 mindset currently being used in WvW, add another server into the mix. Granted you’re running the risk of creating a 3v1 monster. Other than that, maybe a create something in the WvW game to give an outnumbered server an advantage in their borderlands to equal the playing field.
I will say one last thing, don’t be surprised if this 2v1 stuff causes WvW gamers to switch servers and create a severely unfair advantage.
In a war all is allowed?
Wether they are teaming up or not, it is logic people pick on the weaker server because of easy points.
Except that picking on the weaker server is often faulty logic.
This match is a case in point. Gandara is running away with the match. So if there is in fact a 2v1 then AG made a mistake because it cost them the match. (Unless of course there is some grand strategy based on strength of schedule down the road – but I doubt it.)
2v1’s should happen in WvW. Except that it should be 2 weaker servers against a stronger server. This can be for a whole match if there is one uber server against two smaller servers, or just at certain times of the day.
Problem with the way it is now people attack the weaker and not the stronger. Which is why I hope they come up with a way to incentivze attacking the stronger server.
2×1 on WvW is not fair for sure… but yes it is legal… as some others said before me it is war and sometimes alliances are needed.
I am totally against it when it is dealt even before the match begins… but ANet cant do anything about it.

Most 2v1s “happen” when server B attacks server A, discovers it’s well defended and hard to flip, so they focus server C because there’s less resistance. Server A, because it’s the stronger one will often swap focus between Server B and C (if they’re smart), so when Server A focuses on Server C, and server B has few options, it will appear like a 2v1.
Server C will likewise focus Server B because they perceive a 2v1 or discover, like Server B, they cannot flip anything on Server A maps.
Server A really only has to be a fortress for the first couple days of the match to dissuade and demoralize their opponents, then the remaining two servers will turn on each other instead. While some may try to continue to make inroads into Server A territory all week, it won’t nearly be as strong a rally after they’ve been pushed out with force the first couple of days.
In reality it has nothing to do with collusion and everything to do with strategy.
The only time I’ve seen it actually happen was in response to server forum warriors decrying double teaming. It’s like a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Hi
I play on SF and we have been on both sides of this before, 2 weak servers focusing a stronger one is good thing, and provides a better match up, makes it much more challenging. We have been focused on before a lot including our opposition coordinating large strikes and we dont mind it.
The fights were quite intense for us and there was some serious gameplay on part of everyone involved.
I’m amazed this has been given so much credence. A throw away joke comment is the proof.. really?
Every server must have been in the situation where it seems both the other servers are targetting them & only them.. the reality is almost always different. It’s simply opportunism when it does happen, a commander maybe seeing a local advantage is to be got and making the most of it. But it’s not policy. AG & Gandara teaming up as part of some Machiavellian master plan is simply not true. In fact I would say that AG, if anything, went for Gandara, we had hopes of winning this match up, but they proved to be too strong for us this week. Cést la vie.
I predict that Desolation and Aurora Glade will double team Underworld the whole week. How else one can explain the difference in score? :P
If this were an actual thing, this is what makes 1v1v1 so much fun. I remember in the days of DAoC when Albs had all the relics and were really hard to beat. Hibs and Mids joined up to fight the Albs, because combined they had more numbers and that increased their chances to make it a balanced fight again.
I think teaming up against the “better” server should be encouraged.

If you want to see screenshots of Vizunah vs Jade vs Baruch go to the spanish forum, Jade reject to win and Vizunah help them until we (Baruch Bay) stay in the third position. It’s a shame, but this is a way to play that I don’t like at all… I don’t know if this is legal but sure this is a nasty way to play… And at last there is Baruch Bay players in France that go to their teamspeak, etc… and the players of both servers are in contact.
Sorry for my english.

Vizunah and Jade play perfectly sincronized because are in contact through their Teamspeak servers, there is a post about this here, sorry it’s in spanish.

My question was more about you admitting Baruch had people in the enemy’s teamspeak to “discover” this …. Didn’t think Baruch did stuff like that.

Read the post, this player works in France his friends are in France and play in France, he isn’t a “spy” OMG this is a game, I only want 3 servers fighting for the victory not for the second place like Jade, helped by Vizunah of course…

Well

Translation issue? The way you worded it, you indicated the Baruch guy living in France went into Viz/Jade Sea’s teamspeak and learned of this collusion.
Again, this isn’t what I’ve come to expect for Baruch. I expect good fights and my butt handed to me a couple times None of this other drama. Kind of like Piken, y’know?
