Welcome to culling. Part of the gaming experience and a viable tactic.

Haha. I want this for my signature :<
The Warrior turns to the guardian and says, “Did you hear something?”
Guardian replies, “No, but how’d the elementalist die?”
Hmm, no it wasn’t like the culling “feature” but they all come out from him. Like they all ran out from him, as if they were hiding in him.
@Spartdan
They most likely stood on one spot to reduce their numbers and only step out once enemies were close. I’ve seen threads that discussed this as a strategy.

Sounds like a Mesmer Portal.
I don’t know what the animation is for the exit side of the portal, but it is possible he cast it before he died. Then the army inside the keep used the entry portal he cast before leaving to teleport to the exit portal where you were.

Sounds like this is a possibility. If so, good tactic but I thought there’d be some kind of limit on that portal.
I does sound like a mesmer portal, an often-used tactic. But shouldn’t the portal disappear when he dies though? (one possibility is that they went through before he died, and the culling problem popped in)
They walk single file to hide their numbers.
