Here we go, another locked thread… We (servers, collectively) need to come up with a way to talk about exploit issues.

I really think GW2 needs peer review tools like LoL has. Or at the very least, an open guild that people can join to smooth over the effects of any cheating. While the cheating doesn’t really change the game, the enjoyment we all get from WvW is lessened by these types.

Of course, Anet should just remove the ability to exploit but I am sure they have “top men” on it.

That is a forum, not a thread. And posting a thread there for each instance of kittenry would result in some pretty heavy infractions.

Only thing I could come up with was notifying the guild in game and if they don’t boot the perpetrator then open season on that guild with no support from their home server.

But yes, the whole exploit thing is a tricky subject and flares anger. I think before any of us post here pointing the finger, efforts should be made to contact the guild leader …. Even just to post here something like:

Would the leader of <Awesome Golem Gods> please contact me in game?

And give it 24 hours for response. It makes no accusations, because that request could be for anything, and shows effort is being made to be respectful of each other.

All the ‘he said, she said’ histrionics aside…

EB was a blast last night. 10 hours of play before I had to sleep, and some great work by most of TC.

Surprisingly minimal map presence from SoR all night, other than the hour or so where SoR and BG both double teamed 3 of our towers into oblivion. This was brought about by certain folks on TC not following the plan that had worked well all night, and I commend SoR for suddenly swelling their numbers in EB, and BG for taking advantage of SoR’s retaliatory press after we sat on Durios for 30min.

I like to think we did a reasonable job defending Anz/OW/Mendon/VS against a 2 pronged, prolonged assault, but we certainly could have done better. I hope those involved on SoR and BG at least found claiming those towers wasn’t easy.

A strong rally and hold of VS + OL and the prolonged assault broke, and eventually we were able to hit BG and flip most of their towers, with some early assistance from SoR.

I would rate TC’s play in EB at around 75% last night. Very proud of most of the folks who were in the map in the first 10 hours last night. There’s still massive room for improvement in several areas, especially that which I had to repeat over 10 times over the course of the night.

I’d like to thank Housin, Rose, Pride, Karreck, and all the people who escorted dolyaks for hours, all the people who sat in camps for hours, all the dolyak snipers, all the treb shot blocking ele’s, all the folks who listened when I repeatedly explained the strategy (and reasoning behind said strategy).

You all made my night.

Thank you also to SoR and BG for making WvW exciting, and a challenge once more.

It’s essentially a tie. The lead has changed so many times it probably changed again while I wrote this.

Our former competitors (and even some of our own folks) predicted we would get curb stomped in Tier 2. That makes this first 24 hours that much more satisfying. It’s a 7 day fight and a holiday week so it will be a very interesting week.

When we dropped from Tier 1, I tried to run into a red tower more than a few times that first week

Greenlake stood firmily even with it’s “outnumbered numbers”. But it finally fell…
We hold it for a few hours though…

And as a captain sink with it’s ship, I died in my post!

Fun fighting last night in TCBL, especially some of the fights around Godsword camp. Fighting off several SoR just to turn around and get hit by as many BG from the other side, and vice versa, several times. We lost the camp a few times when most of us got pulled away to other duties, but there were some pretty epic fights there and along the dolyak routes.

/salute to that thief I fought along the east yak route last night, fight ended with both of us downed (dang strong thief attacks in downed, you took the last 1/4 of my hp off laying on your back after I’d blown every heal and cantrip) but since I went down last, I was able to finish it. Hope you saw my /bow before you ported, you have my respect.

I might have been guilty of any of the following last night:

Trying to run through a green door
Avoiding red npc guards when running by one of our towers
Trying to attack a red sentry/dolyak
Thinking “naw, it’s still green” when I read “BG took bay” in /t

Old Enemies and New Enemies
SoR fights from Blackgate Borderland last night.

My five man group was killing yaks on the SoR side of the map most of the night in EB, mainly focusing on the northern side of the map and trying to limit the supply that reached Durios and Bravost.

Overall, it was a lot of fun and we got to have some fun fights with SoR and TC throughout the night.

Glad to know I wasn’t the only one. Here are a few gems from chat:

- The announcement we took SMC – ummm, maybe not, we’re not green
- The statement “I feel kind of dirty running through a red door, reminds me of FA”-
- Running for a green SMC, to wonder why the guards are all hostile and I can’t get through the door. Oppps. Dead.
- “Wait, who are the blue people again? They just took that tower”

Had a really good time on the TCBL’s last night with Commander Jadon. Thank you all so much for a great fight.

Since the thread that was just closed seemed to be the most tame BGvSOR thread yet I can’t think of another reason it was locked down.

Clarification would be appreciated so this thread isn’t modded into the ground.

We had good fights at Blackgate’s garrison last night. Choo, TW, TWL, LUN, I was flattered that you all came to the party, it was a bloodbath for certain. I only saw myself get killed once in the video I was on the catapult in the back left corner during the 2nd clip I believe.

This is definitely the matchup of the week. Good fights, close match.

I know what you mean, I spent a small fortune and hours escorting the dolyak to ANZ just to get it to t3 upgrade. Then BG comes in with 3/4 sup rams and razed it in minutes :|

What an exciting match up! It is literally neck-to-neck on points and it could swing any which way ~ I’m loving this

Does anyone else find it interesting that an SOR posts proof that he has spies on our server and it is ignored.

Then someone says, and provides no proof, that an ICoa TRIED and not even succeeded in exploiting and everyone loses their minds?

Am I the only one that sees this?

I noticed the spy thing. Thought it odd … But as one TCer pointed out … It’s really inconsequential since most communication is done via guild chats.

The other involved an issue with not one, but two players from the same guild attempting the same exploit. It should have been relayed to the guild leader or officer, but I honestly didn’t see any hysteria over it. Rather a friendly warning that these two players were sullying your guild’s good name.

This is how adults handle issues. I hope more people take your suggestion seriously, as the incessant flaming would be lessened.

You don’t think watching where commander icons are moving would be beneficial for defense? They can see where the commanders call for map rallies and watch where anyone with an icon is leading zergs. Maybe most of your guild’s tactics only happen in guild chat, but we work very well and communicate with our PUGs on BG.

Come on guys, its a straight up admission and proof of using frowned upon tactics. And it is simply ignored.

Let’s have an end to the trolling and flaming. I’m tired of it and I think that everyone that doesn’t engage in it is tired of it. I’d rather play the game than the forums

I’m personally of the opinion that — whether or not you guys were exploiting — you’ve handled this with tact. To me this feels a lot like a witch hunt. People are so worked up over the possibility that someone is exploiting that they’re not stopping to think that there may be other alternatives. It’s always immediately a jump to, “Yo <opponent> stop hacking/cheating/exploiting!”

Guys, backing them into a corner like this is in incredibly poor taste and exhibits poor sportsmanship. I understand that it hurts to lose towers like that, but most of the time it boils down to user error. I don’t blame them for being smarmy or sarcastic with their posts — it’s not needed, no, but neither is the instant/constant accusations whenever something goes even slightly wrong. If you feel that there is a problem, then contact one of them (they’re very open with their contact info, it’s sort of all right there in front of you) and report the issue to ArenaNet using their support channels.

It’s the holidays. Can we please just keep it nice, at least until the week is over? None of our servers are at our peak populations/resources anyway so ultimately this is really a throw-away week when it boils down to it.

Let me explain it one last time: most of the comments (trolls aside) were not that you are all numbers with no skill, they were commenting on the fact that you generally had more WvW players than both other servers combined. When you can field that kind of numbers, skill is much less of a factor than if populations were more balanced.
That being said, with IoJ taking your place in tier 3 it’s now fairly obvious to me that you guys have a very good understanding of “greater picture” battle mechanics, which is supported by how you’re currently doing in tier 2. Good to see TC can walk the walk as well as talk the talk
Looking at the match threads and scores for both tier 2 and tier 3 and playing in tier 3 myself, I think we can safely say that everyone is better off and happier with the new matchups.

Just seen a Blackgate mesmer tele port in BlueBriar and port right back out while it was ours, I was jsut standing up at top watching this I think its probably that he saw me so watch out guys.

Also another thing I have noticed 6 times we have hit the NW wall of the bay in Blackgate and as soon as we hit the gate (note we jsut hit the gate no swords come up) as soon as we start hitting we see people get up on the wall and start calling other. ?:?? can anyone explain this?

Ive already taped it and SS’ed it sending it in To A-net but that also “slanders” your guild quite well. But not like i can message you in game to explain the situation so you can Kick them out before they Smear the rep of your guild all across the Game

I myself don’t trust all of ICoa, I do know they have at least 2 people who don’t stand for exploiting, because I have been working with them in the past over some pricks on sor who were jump exploiting. To find them and get ’em banned.

It all boils down to people in life cheat, and some don’t. We can’t control which server they go to or what guilds, and it’s best to work together to rid the cheaters who ruin the fun of WvW.

BG is good, probably the best fight [KBD] has had in 6 weeks. EB was a struggle through primtime tonight, something new. Normally don’t post in these threads, but had to tip hat to BG. Looks like darkfall beta will have to go to the back burner for the week.

TC is leading in T2… whoa! Nice job. We in YB miss the class of TC.

These two days have been great. Question is what happens on the holidays in full. For as even a match this is, that’s really going to make a lot of difference.

Thing is, this whole “holiday” is a double edge sword really.

One hand, people are out of town thus can’t play.

On the other hand, people are out of school due ot winterbreak AND most people (me and majority at my work) take off work for a week or two during Christmas time.

So, in fact, this could be MORE population than normal during certain times, but less during other times.

Either way, it will be interesting to see how well all servers hold a month from now when the holidays are behind us and students as well as adults are most likely back into the “real life grind”.

I do like your guild… I don’t like you though. Every problem that has been thrown at Imperial Coalition has been handled. If you want to continuously blame a guild for an old account (which we kicked the player for doing it and told him to leave the server) then go ahead. This is only the second time this guild has had accusations thrown at it so don’t think this is an occasional thing. I especially like the part where you said 1 player or even 2 doesn’t make an entire server because if 1 player or 2 exploit from a guild then that doesn’t make a guild with 420+ members all exploiters. If you want to be immature and keep throwing accusations through forums to make yourself feel better then go for it. I wouldn’t recommend it
