With the small FOV, you cant really see the true impact the name tags have. In the first pic, it was after we got flanked from the second pic. Keeping in mind that there were also ~20-25 DR both to the left AND the right of the screen shots. It actually really did remind me of that scene from 300, haha. I cant imagine what this is like in the higher tiers…
Explanation is needed. My guild and I were doing some camp flipping in DR BL (or was it DH BL?) last night when the strangest thing happened. A zerg fell from the sky…
It was RIGHT after the new WvW build around 9:30-10 pm est. We started our camp flipping and got to NW supply camp. We killed all the npcs and were standing in the ring about to cap the camp. All of a sudden, people started yelling in mumble “invaders from the ramp!!” I didn’t even know there was a ramp at that camp. I said what ramp? Where are the invaders coming from? Then someone replied, “the sky.”
A huge zerg then proceeded to jump down from the tower thingy at that supply camp. It was hilarious. We were laughing sooooo hard in mumble. Very funny. Took us completely by surprise. I bet you all were laughing too, because we honestly had no clue anyone was up there, let alone that many people.
Great pic. Looks like from when DR push back against DH. Here’s how that looked from the DR FOV at the beginning. That zerg line is the one streaming from SM byWC. There was a second line from SM to Klovan ( plus the guys on the plauto between each. ) Fun times.
I was hoping someone could post from the other side! It was quite a long battle and was spectacular fun for me. It didnt seem either of us were really trying to cap anything (though some groups inevitably broke off and did so). Just sitting there in an all out epic battle!
The repeated flanks were great fun to defend against, even if they didnt work out particular well every time.
There was a guardian from DR that was basically doing the same thing I was; running to the enemies front line to lay down skills. For him, it was reflects, for me it was pain inverter, muddy ground, and healing spring. The ranger isnt exactly made for this, haha, but it was a fun tactic nonetheless. There is probably even a good chance that downed DH invader is me! XD
That was some crazy battle going on there for quite a long time! Both sides pushing back and forth, with somehow taking and losing Wild Creek too.
I was that kamikaze necro that hit the bridge a few times trying to to take all that seige out you had. That wasn’t up to building code and was a safety risk to all on the bridge, so it had to go

Yeah, that was the most epic push/pull I’ve seen in years of gaming. I forgot to take a shot of all the unmade siege that littered from our keep to WC ( and I mean like evry 5 feet. )
I was like “WTF??? We making road markers of siege? We have no supply!” But needless to say it was fun over all. Think I made about 100 badges and became 100 for ya’ll.
Our commanders were streached to heck and back, but even threw the complaints I think everyone did a great job ( all sides. ) Welllllll…. Except for that lone IOJ uplevel that I just waved as they slinked back into teh moles. Couldn’t bring myself to kill em.

haha. We were astonished at the numbers we were fielding in an opponents BL (guess lots of PvEers wanted to check out the patch last night… it was amazing having that many people around being that enthusiastic) so we decided to go for it. What a great stand you guys made
Yeah, that was a rough time you guys were giving us. I was just able to get that treb up in time with some really helpful people running supply (the tower had 0) to bust those catas up. You guys really made us work for that defense. I really think that if the people that stayed around after had stayed around a little bit longer, they would have capped SW tower. We were completely drained of supplies and were chasing what seemed like 4 different groups of DR/IoJ around to prevent them from capping towers or backcapping our supplies as soon as we could.
And yeah—that waypoint at Bay saved us, really. Only got supply to the tower to keep getting carts up by waypointing there from all the other places we had to get to and grabbing the full supply that it had.

That was the smallest group we smashed that night, and one of about 20 different groups. We actually had to leave that camp because both DH and IOJ stopped showing up, I guess that means we won Zombie Survival Mode! I made it to rank 4 and 1/2 with only taking a 2 supply camps and killing for the rest if that gives you an idea of just how many people we killed.
But, its too bad we spent most of the time when our main group was on curb stomping riot. But, congrats to you beat 8 people with a group of 15+. Theres times we are out there and don’t have our mains, or don’t have a good group composition…but we still go out there. If you wanna take one fight and try to blanket the entire week with it, go for it.

2) It is expected, but for some reason you claim we don’t. We never brag about being awesomeleetsauce on the forums unless someone likes you has the urge to trakittenalk us. Oozo merely uploads videos because people enjoy watching them.
3) Do you think we are going to engage a group 2-3 times our size in the open field? Of course we are gonna wait until they are distracted at the camp. That zerg was scouted by our thieves a long time before the video started.

No, honestly I’m a firm believer that you should kill me as soon as you see me. WvW is a PvP thing after all. Now ANet’s problem with making <80s even remotely competitive (which they’re not) is another thing entirely. I know I’ve leveled this guy purely out of zerging, which means my armor is very under par until I get to 80 and which makes we weaker than a “well geared” 56.
So yeah, it’s not anything. The way I see it, keep killing anyone you see. Just saying that PvP areas are PvP areas. That means that people’ll ultimately compare themselves to you and /laugh, /cry, /anything that they feel like doing. People ultimately kill you when they see you. And that’s how it goes. That’s they way it’s supposed to go. So it’s frustrating for me, but good that you guys do something that doesn’t adhere to this weird sense of sportsmanship that sides develop here in lower tiers.
Yeah, people /wave or /salute or /whatever on both sides. That means don’t bother. But if someone /waves to you but you want to fight… kitten fight them. Laughing is weird, but it’s allowed. I don’t do it specifically but don’t condone it either. Put up with it if it happens and move on. WvW is PvP in a large scale, after all.

My little bit of friendly banter ruined the WvW spirit? It stirred up a little bit of rivalry to bad you guys will stomp any GEN you come across seeing as we have about 10 people in WvW some that are good at 1v1s 1v2s, but we’re not organised as a group.

You’re just hurting yourself by not working with us against DH.
That’s right IoJ. I hereby propose an alliance. You guys can fight against DH in their borderlands, and we’ll defend your borderlands for you. Yes, I know, it will mean we’ll have your keeps, but it’s a sacrifice I’m willing to make.
