My guild is PvX/RP. So, of course, we’re located in Tarnished Coast, the unofficial RP server. The problem is, we have a lot of new players who can’t get into TC because it’s full all of the time. Sometimes I feel like we’re taking up space when we WvW rarely. However, there is no secondary RP server that I can discern. I think it’s time one is introduced into the community. My whole guild would very likely transfer to a new unofficial RP server, should one be recognized.

Is there any possibility of a secondary RP server happening?

Mega servers makes the need to be on a single server for any pve content moot. RP is no different. You could split your guild between any servers in the region (NA/EU) and still get together to RP.

Or send some of your members to FA so you can do war RP: enemies, spies, star-crossed lovers.

WvW RP is a consideration. And despite megaservers, being on TC allows me to stumble on “wild” rp far more often. I suppose guesting would accomplish the same purpose… but going back to guesting every day is not an optimal solution.

I dont think NA and EU can pve together.

if you dont RP in wvw then it doesnt matter. maybe they are trying to do wvw as a guild though sans RP and want to play together. If you do want to RP in wvw… I expect to see videos!

dont think anyone here wants to admit there server is RP focused. maybe post in another sub forum.

They can’t that’s why I said “any servers in the region” to specify people would need to be in either EU or NA

Haha! I realize that not a lot of WvWers like to own to RP. WvW RP can be tons of fun though. Massive crusades to cleanse the borderlands of enemies!

But spies and starcrossed lovers? That’s actually kind of beautiful.

The only downside is you all have to be in a party or squad to communicate and can’t use custom /me emotes.

So are you talking about going out and taking objectives and killing other players and just generally being an asset to your server in wvw while you do your RP? Or are you talking about sitting in or near spawn and RPing? Because if the latter I don’t think you’d be very popular on any server unless they’re fairly low tier and not trying to rise up.

That is definitely a downside. I guess there is always /s chat and basic emotes. And can you join a squad on different worlds?

Ideally being an asset but working it into a storyline. Probably as a mercenary company.

If RP is a strong contender in WvW, I would consider a T4 or T5 server. You won’t have queues to deal with and lots of flexibility to do your own thing without irritating a bunch of hardcore players. For PvE runs with old TC friends it is still very workable.

It has been a while but NSP was a fun place while I was there.

If you barely if ever go into wvw then you don’t need to transfer off. The way the algorithm for detection of server population “apparently” works is by looking at wvw activity. So by not going into wvw like you said you’re not taking up any space.

Reason for my quotes. TC keeps losing a lot of wvw guilds and players yet remains full. Almost as if it’s not detecting the correct population. Same for bloated servers still only coming up as high and no where near changing to very high or full.

Rping in wvw would be fun though and would be a nice way of helping out your server whilst doing something you enjoy in the process. In pve megaserver makes servers redundant.
