How Embarassing! you had 6v3 and you STILL need siege. I can’t wait till we move up a tier and find actual people that want to fight and not Tower hump all kitten day, especially when they have numbers on you.

Dang I just left the house and have to wait a few hours to watch that.

Mad Props to Rekz and Pk, they were absolutely determined to take that keep despite being wiped a couple times. While they were running back, AR would take their turn. In the end, EBay was able to bait some of our guys to the North Inner gate and wiped half of em.

It was literally a non-stop, hour long fight right in front of the Lord Room. Although, I did manage to cut out some boring auto-attacking and some fast forwarding to get it down to 20 mins. Thanks to everyone involved in that fight, was epic fun.

I had a great time back when I used a huge screen. The image is amazing, but you really gotta squint at the text.

For a 50" widescreen, I recommend a resolution of 1366×768.

If you want to play MMOs on a 1080p screen (1920×1080) try to get 65" or larger. otherwise chat is too hard to read, unless you sit very close to the screen (closer than 6 feet).

Also, half the benefit of playing on a big screen is big sound. If you don’t have a surround sound setup (and a game that can use it) there’s not much point.

Its awesome being able to call out groups that running off to our side out of the normal FOV.

Trying to pay attention to the Chatbox on the far left monitor does suck tho.

great to see this from the other side props to everyone there all 3 servers fighting an epic fight, a small shame AR concentrated on the rest of your BL but there after the PPT only makes sense they did so!, all in all mad props back to WAR/SOS/ALS too many to mention.

AMAZING! Thanks so much for posting that. I imagine that this is exactly what ANet had in mind when designing WvW. Battles like these are too few and far between, but even just seeing it reminds me why I barely remember what PvE is…

I bet footage like that makes people in some other tiers jealous, if that gets too many hits we should all brace for transfers incoming of people wanting to join the fun. :p

AR has essentially sealed 2nd already. With 3 hours to go BP would have to tick 140 points higher than AR on every tick until reset. Not impossible, but they would have to do something like cap AR’s BL in the next 5 minutes or so and hold it until reset.

GW2 doesn’t support multi-monitors, the only thing you are doing is spreading the image across multiple monitors.

if i have 50 monitors it would not tell the game “Hey change my Camera Range cause I have more than 1 screen” your hardware is just taking the info and spreading it out across the other monitors.

don’t know how many video games you’ve written or what you know about how to actually implement a camera / view frustrum, but for a game to natively support whatever resolution you stretch your window to is uncommon (at least none of the games i’ve played have done that). typically they’ll render a subset of resolutions at whatever your window is set to (and stretch the image looking all distorted), so IMO you could “say”, it supports multi-monitors because you’re not going to get that resolution w/out several monitors…

AR is the smallest server in this tier, they performed effectively with this handicap by playing to the strategy you describe and maximized point gain for the force they are able to field. That’s a strategically sound move. I’m not sure what you would rather they do… team up with you to fight EBay head on so that you finish second instead of taking the points that are there to be had.

If placing higher than AR is important to you and your server collectively in coming weeks, and AR’s propensity to be opportunistic really truly bothers you, perhaps I could suggest you not overextend yourself attacking one enemy and thus opening an undefended front? Or be quicker to mobilize defense, being willing to abandon the gain of new territory in favor of defending territory you currently own. Both are viable strategies that would rebuff AR and likely earn the 2nd place finish.

As much as I would love feed the EBay ego for AR’s rise, AR has to stand up and take the opportunities that are presented. So in the end, AR still had to earn the points they got, which this week happened to be more than BP by a very small margin.

Meh, the fight was amusing at least from the AR side, But yeah, like mentioned before, SoS and ALS had planned to hit BP BL at 8pm server time for over a day, was in the MOTD and everything for ALS. The goal of the night’s maneuvers was to learn to work together as a group, within our alliance, and to flip all of BP BL. The fact that Ebay was there UNPLANNED already working on it was just an addition to the night that needed to be strategized around. The Participation of AR’s [War] as well was unplanned, and many of us only found out a bit before the stuff started, but was a welcome addition.

One of the highlights for the night was randomly running into PK and Rekz just before the hills fights in the ravines under hills and just plowing through them with EVERYONE from AR on the map(Mind you, we had BP BL queued so bad that it took 20-30 minutes for some people to get in).

What the higher ups wanted was to get a fight like hills going where all the forces were at one place at once, so we knew where they were, We didnt’ plan it to be hills, it just happened to end up being hills.

Once we commited to the fight for 20 minutes or so with our full group, A skeleton Crew was left, just enough people to make it appear like most of our forces were still there, while a good chunk went through with the original plan, to flip BP BL.

Glad that Ebay and BP had a good time in the hills fight though. I can’t really say I did or didn’t tho. Had more fun working with the rest of the server rather then actual fun wiping over and over for a fight we knew we weren’t there to win.

Anyways, map pic from right after hills fell, and we had backed off to take the last few locations we needed(and just secured north camp). We came right back to hills and flipped it to end the night’s goals right after this pic was taken.

What do you think that resolution support at 7680×1440 on AMD Eyefinity and nVidia Surround is? Right, that’s single monitor resolution. If it just “stretched” the image then the exp bar would go completely across the 3 screens. You can’t be serious(can you?). The game also supports 3D, but that’s moon man technology.
As far as BP attacking AR at reset, yeah, you do that every reset, congrats on using the same strategy for another week. I’ll bring the bread so you can make toast.

nah, really though, that was plenty fun!

I see that some of you remember to not clump us all together when it comes to WvW. A lot of us just want to have fun playing this game, going as far as partying with the enemy at times for conversation and 1v1 duels.

We do have some doozies of players that tend to bring others down and cause many to just leave WvW altogether (bullies/trolls if i may), which at times causes me to sit and rant on said player.

I appreciate the staunch competition we have faced. It serves to push us to get better.

And to sum it all up I’d have to say that pride is the most destructive behavior within pvp gaming. It prevents many from just having fun in many ways and forms.

The honest truth is the only resin BP is a threat is because of Kalkz and his morning/night capping crew and upgrading everything for when NA wakes up. If BP didn’t have there morning crew they would still be in tear 6.

No, Borliss is more than the sum of one person for certain. Kalkz is however the one standing up and taking about 80% of all incoming flak from the two of us. He’s also a large rallying force for your server (that being good or bad being up to you), and routinely hands whatever flak given back to us in golem punches to the face. As I stated earlier, a most admirable foe.
