Where are you, it’s time to THROW DOWN
More than an hour ago at this point. I’ve been here all night basically The more recent pushes on WK were more mixed. The first major push EMP made on DBBL was almost all EMP and I had to call in reinforcements…
I’ve heard from their members 5-10% have already transferred, which if their numbers on that Guild Listing site are correct, is already 40 people. They expect 30% to transfer or so. With the other guilds who have said they’re transferring, looks like DB is going to be the new Bandwagon. I feel bad for you, it was hectic and annoying when it occurred to Mag
Bandwagon to the server already having it easy in this tier, odd way to seek a challenge. I suppose if its NA only they wouldn’t destabilize if there’s not too many, but DB has been doing fairly decent there already last 2 weeks.
Hmmm… a few NA guilds joining DB. While this gives us coverage, this match up won’t be fun anymore due to heightened population gap Unless Yak’s and Mags decide to do 2v1. I guess I’ll havta try out one of those fight clubs, or stick to Fractals this week.
Likely yes. At even numbers in NA, DB will be greatly favored even during that time due to the upgraded structures they get set for them every morning, which opens up freedom to go on the offensive and leave skeleton crews for D.
Anycase, reset night was fun as usual. The best night of the match.
I don’t think there’ll be a 2v1. Likely we’ll just play our normal hours and say goodbye to DB after this week.
Maybe Kaineng won’t be as large/tryhard (some kn guilds were doing 12 hour shifts on 100% bl’s…) as the last time we fought them.
I’ll be sad to see some DB guilds leave. [TG] are probably our favorites. Good at pvp but still just plays for fun. We should get some good fights in on our last week together~
This is what Mag has been saying for months. Total score doesn’t really show anything, which is why we usually look for even fights or GvG instead. I don’t know why t3 suddenly cares so much about the total score so much.
That’s really what most of the level-headed folk say anyway.
Look, every T3 matchup thread since SoS dropped has been the same: The weekend starts off and everyone’s having a good time, and then by Monday morning someone is crabbing that DB is leading only because of PvDoor. Throughout the week, a few of us try to say exactly what you said: the score doesn’t matter in the first place, just have fun (or if the score matters to you, feel free to transfer to JQ). By the end of the week a few DB trolls come out and pound their chests and pretend they’re the sole reason we’re winning.
I don’t know if it continues because people are stupid or they’re sadists, but it continues nonetheless. And I imagine this thread will be somewhat similar.
Please go back and read the last thread. The pvd is actually BP/EA baiting maguuma every single morning and us not biting. Mag cares about winning fights.
The DB guys that know how to pvp, the DB guilds that know how to pvp, don’t post here and kitten it up with score bickering. Come morning, there will be more DB talking trash about points per tick, and more mag not caring.
When EA and BP want to talk about fights won/lost, then we’ll talk back.
Don’t be so clueless….Many people are just sick of your weeks and weeks and weeks of mouthin…Stop trying to play saint now because people are finally firing back….Soon as yall start cleaning up your act, others will follow
You don’t actually read the threads, do you
Since before december, pal
Our posting has been pretty tame relative to earlier threads. You’re welcome to believe whatever you want but the opening salvo in this thread was most definitely not fired by us.
Welcome rB, EMP, and anyone else coming to Dragonbrand.
To those people people thinking that guilds are just flocking to DB because we’re winning, you clearly have never thought seriously about moving a guild. When you’re looking at a potential move you’re trying to see the future. And to put your guild in the best structural position. We can all look at the MOS site or leaderboards and see trends and predict future match-ups with great certainty.
DB is going up to Tier2, it will happen next week or the week afterwards. Kaineng(most likely) will drop to Tier3. All the new guilds coming to DB know this, they’ll have a week or two to get situated on DB, and then we’ll all face the uncertainty of Tier2 together.
Prior to this wave of transfers DB was beat fairly badly by FA and TC. Both of those servers have become stronger since DB last faced them. Will our new guilds give DB a chance to fight in Tier2 on an even footing? No one knows for sure yet. But it is sure going to make the next 4-6 weeks of WvW on Dragonbrand very interesting. And that is what WvW guilds are looking for, interesting(uncertain) match-ups where the winner is not known ahead of time(and the lag/queues are bearable).
To the YB and MAG commanders, do you think the earlier reset time helped your server more than the others in this match-up? I know that most NA DB guilds were fielding less numbers at reset, since many of our west coast players were still at school or work.

Not too sure about the reset time question, it seemed to be about the same although we were doing better overall. That could just be new tactics though.
Naturally Delicious [Yum]-Yak’s Bend
/Slap faces. So if Mag/Yak realize this….. It’s time to wake up/face fact.
I suggest people quit WvW during SEA time this week. Go play with something else.
Just hand over doors to them. Some be certainly filled with angry or psychotic emotions, and it’s not healthy for you guys…
Go to rest or go play something you would truly enjoy.
All of us should really be just about done with Dragonbrand shenanigans.
They’ll just cap about everything 12/7. None of us will be able to do anything.
Before they go up to Tier 2, they wanted to kitten us before they get kitten Ironic right?

I’m not a commander, but our strongest time zone has always been around the 9 PM-3 AM EST time zone. The earlier reset definitely favoured YB.

Glad to hear maguuman demeanor is improving… Keep up the great fights guys
Fun fights so far in Mag BL, especially at Mag garrison and NE tower. We’re still trying hard and the fights are still going on!
Why are DB still recruiting more players when they have more than 3x as many players as the other people in the tier?
Bunch of America-haters.
Yay, we took our east keep back much sooner this time.
Why are DB still recruiting more players when they have more than 3x as many players as the other people in the tier?
Bunch of America-haters.
Now we got 3x players than other servers in the tier, and we were only 2x a few days ago. I guess at the end of the week we’ll be 10×.
Ya, it’s America’s fault!
By the way, sorry EA, we failed you.
I have mixed feelings about getting new guilds on DB. It’ll be nice to finally shore up our NA time, but when we get to T2, I’ll miss the fun fights with [PYRO], [D|ERP], [AI], etc.
Fer Aline – Thf; Suralinta – Rgr; Alyra Va Tel – Ele; Mer Aline – War
You want to cap all the maps with numbers and have nothing to fight because no one will play vs that. Yaks gave up hours ago. On reset night. Why would anyone transfer to a place where there’s nothing to kill at all? I don’t consider that winning.
Why would anyone transfer to a place where there’s nothing to kill at all?
See: Kaineg
The devs don’t care about WvW so I’m gonna kill players in PvE!
Because Katniss, they are transferring not for what T3 offers… but for what they potentially see T2 offering by them being on DB when DB goes into T2.
On behalf of Warsworn [WAR], we welcome any new guilds to DB. DB’s community has always been very welcoming of newcomers, and no reason for that to change at any point now or in the future. Believe it or not, DB takes a very casual approach to WvW in that none of our big guilds are out pulling 12-hour shifts in WvW. Please don’t expect that of DB’s guild if you are arriving from T1, it might be a culture shock to see how laid back we are as a community heh. We also have near zero drama between our guilds, and the bigger guilds all pretty much work very well together and get along all the same.
Reset being 2 hours earlier was just dandy for our guild. Still able to field our 30man guild group pulling defence duty in our 1/3’rd of EB for most of the night. Was fun to ninja MAG’s garrison in EB that had a waypoint up heh. As was par for the course every reset night, was lotsa fun 3-way brawls in and around stonemist, with each server claiming it at one point or another. [WAR] had fun pulling defence duty, fighting off many many incursions by both Yaks and MAG’s zergs. Hats off to [RAM], [ILL] guilds you guys run some great smaller sized groups, was fun running into you last night many times!
Not really looking forward to T2. Even with the new xfers, we’ll most likely still ping pong back and forth between T2/T3 for a while nonetheless. So all the haters can be rest assured DB will be getting their share of a good whoopin’ real soon, lol.

DB since Headstart
Guild transfers can be a great help to a server, they can also be unnoticeable and even a hindrance on occasion.
It will take some time for the new members to get settled as well as ease themselves into the already existing structure of commanders and guild based coverages.
I can somewhat understand a bit of resentment from the YB, and Mag players that are obviously frustrated with how this match up is playing out. I can sympathize with the discouragement felt when your previous days hard work is almost certainly going to be undone while you are sleeping or at work/school etc.
If DB intends to make a run at T2 the infusion of NA players, and more specifically NA guilds was going to be necessary.
As stated above, the causal nature of the community is present and that will most likely be a leading cause for us to yo yo between T2 and T3.
I can honestly say I don’t much enjoy the WvW pvp I see after we have a substantial point lead either. Suddenly people start getting too comfortable and begin to play foolishly instead of sharpening the tactics.
I hope that T2 is competitive and humbling for us to the extent that people tighten up their overall play keep finding ways to adapt and learn. Failure to recognize being outplayed is far worse than being beaten in my opinion.
Peace.
Bandwagon to the server already having it easy in this tier, odd way to seek a challenge. I suppose if its NA only they wouldn’t destabilize if there’s not too many, but DB has been doing fairly decent there already last 2 weeks.
I have no clue as to why we have had successful resets. We had a guild leave us that fielded some good commanders and players, but it would appear that Mag and YB is fielding less players, too. These last two weeks are definitely different from the past few months.
If or when we go to Tier 2, the guilds just joining us may not be enough to compete there. But, if we are having fun, then that is all that matters.
GGs NNK, was so excited seeing you in reset, wow. Epic is a word I don’t like to use but… WOW. I LOVED our fights. Really well fought, great fun.

^^^^this explains the db community exactly.
On the subject of recruiting and getting more players for NA. Db has known it was only a matter of time before we would see T2. Ever since SOS fell through the rankings Db has been laying the groundwork for better coverage because we could be in the same rough position FA was in for months of possibly bouncing between T2 and T3 depending entirely on how bad the next server above us either falls apart or makes a misstep.
Yak’s did a good job last night during NA primetime. Was great fun fighting them in the DB BL’s last night. I think the Yak’s have a good chance of locking up 2nd place this week.
I didn’t notice the new transfers much last night. But, transfer night is always chaotic. The differences will probably be more noticeable during the week.
Maguuma has had two lackluster resets in row, after a great reset showing the first week of the matchup. We had no borderlands queued on reset(I’ll attribute this to the earlier reset time) and Mag BL had at most 20-25 following duke. We tried to fend off EA and company at EK to prevent last weeks scenario and it worked for a little until they overwhelmed us there and Yak’s already took WK with their overwhelming force. Some ridiculous battles at SE camp all on the losing end for us mags(oh well), you had some great boon up time EA. It seemed we were greatly outnumbered on Mag BL or no one was listening to or following the commander. Atleast we got garrison Waypoint first
Congrats DB on your new transfers, it will be interesting and new fighting some tier 1 guilds although I assume the PPT will be in their favor. Just hoping for some good new fights and defenses, I personally love fighting outmanned although not many share that same sentiment.
BTW what timezone are these new guilds that DB got?
Awsome fights NNK, u guys showed up strong this reset.
Hope to see more of these great fights

About that SE Camp fighting last night. You are right about boon durations. I was in that camp most of the night. I play a support Elementalist. I was the little Asura standing behind the huts out of line of sight of the majority of the opposing groups so that I could keep regeneration up on our groups, along with healing and stripping conditions. Now this may sound boring to most everybody who plays WvW, but I have been studying this game when I am not playing it. Here is what I have learned:
From watching Twitch.tv and groups like Red Guard, or even being in game along side small groups like AoN (no longer on DB), I have been amazed at how they could carve right through much larger opposing groups with little resistance. These groups almost always are lead by a Staff Guardian and members who choose their traits and gear around supporting more than just themselves. They support and rely on each other. A few of us in [EA] has decided to try something new and take on this unselfish approach to playing. Wow! I cannot emphasize the difference it has made.
I played glass canon for a while and was amazed at how quickly my Fire attunement AoE damage and high critical rate and high critical damage could down large groups of non-supported players. But, I died way to much from being unsupported myself, so it was thrilling and frustrating at the same time. I added a lot more toughness to my gear, some healing power, and changed my traits from damage to support. I no longer see huge crits, but to see me and my fellow groups stay alive longer to accomplish objectives has been very satisfying. I still tag opposing group players with my AoEs and grab as many loot bags and badges as I did before, but when I am killed, I provide much more WXP to the opposing players (you are welcome) because I die a lot less.
It has been great to see [EA] play so much better now that a few of us have gone to playing support.
TLDR: 30 pew pew players going against 20 pew pew players and 10 support players have zero chance of winning. I would even predict 20 pew pew players and 10 support players going against 60 pew pew players will still win, but that is my opinion.
Hmmm… a few NA guilds joining DB. While this gives us coverage, this match up won’t be fun anymore due to heightened population gap Unless Yak’s and Mags decide to do 2v1. I guess I’ll havta try out one of those fight clubs, or stick to Fractals this week.

Good to see positive posts on this match thread so far, save a few weird ones that we always ignore. It’ll be nice to see if the positive vibrations last the week, since it only takes a spark to…
Anyway, all three servers in this tier are presumably in for slaughter next week, so enjoy the match-up while it lasts, folks!

I guess its just me that thinks that the two losing teams would always beat up first. Then once dethroned (aka brought down to a closer point value), in which case suddenly its a free for all once more to jockey for that position. I know all three servers just want good fights. I guess im thinking of ‘the enemy of my enemy is my friend…till that enemy is dealt with, so time to kick myfriend’s kitten . Just thought of the best example, and to show some age. The episode in reboot where bob and megabyte had to team up to stop the web creatures from destroying mainframe, and megabyte betrays bob at the last second.

You’re right. 2v1 on the first server in the tier makes for more exciting matches. Given the current score, Yak’s and Mags should be doing that.
For us reset time was at 9PM before, last night we decided to start at 10PM and found no queques on any borderland, after a while in ours we decided to go to Yak’s where we were outmanned for at least an hour if not more time.
It was fun to defend serveral times SW Castle with a ocuple holes with only 15 ppl against yak’s severral attemps, sadly we lost it after taking a camp when no one was there.

I know we should, but at the same time, we dont want tbe whole ‘zomg alliance’ accusations. Its like both servers feel it in the back of their minds, but at the same time, they feel dirty if they dare even try. Its like the word ‘co-op’ became a bad word like ‘bipartisonship’.
I guess in hindsight it would be bad as it would be unfair to the othe na players being stuck just inside their spawn zone. Course, at the same time, green would be off the map, so here comes megabyte pushing bob into the container….

I don’t think it’s dirty. It’s just tactics. Complainers will complain about just anything when things don’t go their way.
How do Maguumans build a treb in the safe zone, right outside of the spawn in Mag BL?
YB takes the lead initially, but we don’t have many players during the graveyard shift. DB seems to have a large population during off-hours and caps like 85% of the map for free.
I’m surprised they haven’t fixed the team unbalance issue. It really kills competition when one server has hundreds of players zerging and the other has dozens that gave up and are outmanned.

I thought it’s 3pm est. Is that still nightcapping to you? :O
I thought it’s 3pm est. Is that still nightcapping to you? :O
Any time early in the morning until the afternoon could be considered since NA gamers stay up late. There’s also people who have jobs or school during this time. It may be 3PM EST but in the Oceanic region it’s 5 AM, Oceanic players have finished a long night of steamrolling empty maps and are headed to bed.
YB and Mag have little to no graveyard shift players so our keeps are nearly undefended at off-hours.
Erm, it’s Saturday…
All I see is our NA guilds working together though, don’t think we’ve got a lot SEA players online.
Is Jormag up yet?
Score Update!
P.S. Mag I’m going to build a ram to the gods in your 1/3 in EB please don’t shoot on sight till after!

ME from YB you guys need to nut up or stop talking kitten stacking numbers does not equal skill or is a “genius” tactic we dont MOVE in fights because its running, its called positioning and we need REALLY GOOD positioning if we are to fight your 50+ guild/pug zerg. i have respect for most guilds in this tier but these guys are just bullkitten
