Being apart of Blackgate for almost half a year, I noticed it’s like being apart of a team. We will go through anything together, whether it’s bad or good, just as long as we are going through it together.

&To the people that think that we are a “sinking ship”; Blackgate is stronger now more than ever before especially with guilds like GoF & MERC. Even with the little coverage we have compared to the other 2 gigantic servers we’re facing, we were still able to beat JQ & put a gold-medal up on the mosmillenium history books, something SoR is incapable of doing even with the huge amount of coverage they have.

Now with that said, Blackgate is the server that will never die so quit trying to make it sound like we’re imploding -_-

(EDIT: Btw JQ if you get 1 more gold medal you’ll beat EU’s Vizunah Square in the gold medal count)

So, this evening, I step on to BG BL, apparently the moment after we lost hills. This sparked something in me that hasn’t happened in a while…I…get to do…whatever the hell I want!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Okay, I’ll break a series of events tonight for everyone, this was epic as hell and really fun!

We where never super stacked. Both SoR and especially JQ where several times bigger then any thing we had. Right now SoR have gotten massive reinforcements while we lost 2 guilds to TIER 1 attrition (Tier 1 is kind of boring compared to lower tiers) so we are in a situation like the last few times we hit tier 1.

WE never had the numbers to stay tier 1. We always come out swinging where we put extra hours into the game, but that time is gone now we relax and have fun. There is no reason for us to run our selves ragged.

The whole “BG IS DOOMED” is more or less no name’s from servers who know very little about what is going on.

Also why should BG not be proud of not giving up when we lose. Almsot every other server have so far gotten destroyed. We are the strongest Tier 2 server and we have the numbers of a tier 2 server. Winning is not that fun to be honest. It is all about the challenge to better your self and win.

After all we have taken first. Even with our lower numbers.

Yes, much fun in BG BL tonight.

Our first take of Garrison involved trebs and 4 superior catapults in a hole in the wall. But when we took it, the wall respawned and swallowed up all our trebs. “Nice one Mance now we lost all our catapults!” (Also swallowed up and trapped 2 a.d.h.d. SG’s)

But luckily an angry BG mob came in right after and took garri back again… So we rushed to Dawns and re-trebbed. Luckily when we got another hole in the wall, our cata’s were all still alive so we got the 2nd take.

Then the “vale wars” began… until 3:30 a.m. Good working with SF/Ward and everyone else as usual. WP up in hills! @@

So you beat Jq once… That’s meant to be something worthy of bragging about? Which you only managed to do because of mass transfers from another t1 server.

From your position I would be very careful about accusing SOR of being super stacked.

In the end every server is totally convinced they have a loyal strong community, few actually do.
Blackgate got more wvw players from the SOS collapse than SOR did, but the ones Sor got were the loyal ones that tried to save the server when the others (the ones that came to you) bailed at the first sight of trouble. MERC, ND, AOI etc are great guilds, but they will leave when things get tough. My experience of server collapses tells me when they do, many others will follow regardless of how strong your “community” is.

From a outsiders perspective all three t1 servers are incredibly stacked, the days of servers earning a position in the top bracket based on merit are long gone.
It’s all a matter of luck.

You do realize when people guest to a server it counts against their pop. JQ has a very very high pve base that is complemented by guesting because people know they can get their PvE events done.

Do you remember doing it in T1 as well, ticking away against both SoR and JQ at 400ppt for hours at a time. That was simply due to you having superior population at those times. Please don’t try to change history in a forum full of people that know better.

You lost like 30 people total in your active W3 population in those 2 guilds. Your biggest loss was a certain commander that kept you together.

When Covenn and I agree, it has to be an indisputable truth. It’s in the rulebook.

I’ll take the ‘JQ is stacked’. But saying “BG no staked! SoR stacked!” is just wrong. And I hate SoR and love BG. (sorry SoR, cant’s stand ya)

Anyone on BG complaining about transfers and coverage when speaking about SoR needs to go reread last month’s threads. Or even February’s threads.

Every server has enough players for complete coverage IF they could convince some of their PvE element to join in. At this point, any complaints about coverage or stacking or transfers has been proven to be a moot point.

WvW populations change week to week. The WvW population that shows up with the most players wins. And finally, any of the three servers can field a decent enough army to win, if their playerbase is properly motivated.

Lol tier 1 servers complaining about coverage is like millionairs complaining they don’t have enough money.

Complete blowouts or two way matches just aren’t as much fun as a solid three way match where theoretically anyone could win. Right now I think JQ is still too strong for SoR and BG but I’m hoping that in the future more transfers into t1 will balance out the equation.

I will temper my agreement though by saying that it is very close and competitive for the most part compared to other matchups in the past. 30-40k lead on one server is not that bad compared to 150k leads that have happened.

Gotta say that I appreciate the hard work that our Oceanics and SEA put in. We may not have a large unstoppable single guild like FoO or even MERC+ND, but what we have are a collection of small oceanic and sea guilds that come together and operate beautifully to take us through the night over 200 PPT when we used to tick at far below 100.

Keep up the good work brothers, we all love what you guys do.

War, as of late, is derived from politics and agendas.

Every country has an agenda, just as every server does.

When you pit people against one another in a long drawn out battle, it almost always spills out into mind games and psychological warfare. The ‘on-the-field’ battle is never enough, and other ways of beating your enemy will surely be introduced. There will be smear campaigns, rumors started, flame ram trolling, and heck even our WvW/Community TeamSpeak over at SoR has been DDoS’d lately (shame).

I have always viewed the flat out troll posts as a contribution to that servers political smear campaign. Lets face it WvW is just as much about politics as it is war. Can you even have war without politics?

What you can do however, is remove the corncob from your cornhole, and realize that something so outrageous is more on the side of satire and less on the side of trolling. I mean come on man! 4 billion! North Korea? The JQ Federal Reserve? The trick to trolling is twisting just a smidge of the truth of a message to suite your propaganda needs.

Got into some fantastic fights w SoR last night in EB. Much respect to the three way conflict going on. Those who couldn’t see it need to open their eyes and learn to play. Got off during the midnight sm defense, but everything up to that point was grade a beef.

Heh, I know one of your servermates asked for me to hit BG on the plateau, but I had to opt out on that one, I found it hilarious You guys were gettin’ hit hard, I think everyone decided it was your guys’ turn for the 2v1 this evening. I think everyone had all out war across the board.

Oh don’t worry, those guys know me well enough that I have no problem having the 2v1 on someone other than myself. It was in good taste and good natured fun. There are multiple ppl that pm me all the time with similar notions, especially if we are attacking them. “Jed, go bother someone else!” “Go kill on the other side of the map, we like our houses over here,” “Jed, I’m camping your body :P” I’m probably one of the few commanders that could care less about getting trolled by other servers, it sometimes riles me up to fully wipe servers off maps at times. I miss Jerico and Agg…we used to PM each other, “Hey, you just got wiped by only 15 of us.” Then we would wipe them and I’d respond, “Yeah, your zerg just got wiped by our 5 man havoc!” Both of our teams pretty beefy at that time with like 25+ and then add the pugs in

Blackgate can still hold its own when we have the numbers. Just to many are losing motivation/interest.
