About a Week ago I’m Sure everyone in the DH/IoJ/SF WvW scene had noticed the random appearance of a small group of “Players” with the special Anet Symbol as their guild tag. I would like to know if they were Anet Dev’s?

If so can we get a head’s up! The thrill I got from defeating them with a few of my Guildies was awesome. I don’t mind the random Pop ins. It was really cool but strange as to a few of them were upleveled o.o

Point is..Were they dev’s? If so WvW more often on one of Darkhaven’s opposing servers to get a beatdown from [SE] :P

All Anet employees have special Anet accounts, and a feature of those accounts is to turn on their overhead Anet icon.

Many Anet employees do, in fact, play the game, including WvW. Sometimes the odd one turns on his tag.

Did you really make a thread to chest thump about “beating” Anet employees? They were probably trying to do a live feed video, or test content…congrats, you killed them….probably while they were multitasking…..

It’s been some months since one of the ArenaNet programmers on my server explained it for me. I don’t think it’s a special account, they just have to rep the ArenaNet guild. That shows the tag. Presumably, if you joined that guild and rep’ed it, you’d have the lil’ icon by your name too.

Yup, they’re devs alright. I see them every now and then in EB. I know a few were on SBI and also remember playing with Jon Peters and 5 other devs in EB. Was pretty cool!

It’s Not more “Oh Man I Just Killed An Anet Dev” It’s more like “There playing the game with us! Oh Man I just killed An Anet Dev” :P They Probably were multitasking. But One of them dropped down to finish a buddy of mine after he bombed him with Arrows from the AC he was manning. Aswell as the Warrior who came down and tried to 1v5 us just before that lol. It was fun. Wikitten would happen more often.

They can be from any part of the anet team from art to coding to anything minor they are just avg playera

They’ve probably realized that actually playing WvW would improve their future additions.

good thing they are playing with that tag on, people starts to know they are also common players once in a while.

They play quite often actually the ignorancein this thread is quite rampant

so little hint, when u guys see a big ANET sign, act like your class has no skills, so u might get a buff next patch.don’t kill them or u will be nerfed!
