Q:
A humble question for ANet.
Red keep definitely has the topographic advantage. Blue keep is probably the least advantageous position. Red and Blue certainly get handicapped with Anz and Durios.
Then again, Arenanet’s philosophy is the help the winning team win more (re: Orb bonus etc), so I guess they figure the top seed should have a strategic advantage as well.

Yeah, snowball effect is definitely at play in a lot of areas. Perhaps it’s to get the stomping servers into higher tiers as quickly as possible? Hmm.
It’s true that red does have a really good corner for pressuring SM if they can hold onto it. Pangloss is also the easiest camp to defend, probably to make up for Speldan/Anzalia.
Red has a jumping puzzle near their spawn that leads up a very high cliff, from which you can treb mendon.
Blue has a jumping puzzle tower outside their keep from which they can catapult Quentin and (just barely) treb the southeast corner of Stonemist Castle’s outer wall.
Yup, I’m aware of both of those spots. Never said red & blue didn’t have their own advantages; they do.
Mm, but I digress, the point here was that green is the most defensible, and trying to make sense of why the top seed is green.
