I know everyone has been complaining about a wave of “pve” players coming to WvW, so this message is to all of you new players. I know you’re all hunting for achievements to complete your meta (and get more achievement points). You’ll get a key as a reward to open a chest that will be rewarded at the end of the season and you can open it for shiny items.

What you have to realize though, is that in order to get the best shinies, your server has to place high in the rankings. We all know the long queue times to get in, this means that there are only limited spots. And when you do finally get in, if you want to get the best rewards at the end of the season, you have to make sure your server does well. This means following the calls of the commander, read mapchat, ask where you’re needed, bring supplies and use them when asked for it, if there’s a teamspeak server get on it. All these things will help getting things more organized and will guarantee the success of your server. Work together to get higher rewards.

What I’m trying to make you realize is that there’s no point in getting in WvW, farming your achievements, and then never showing your face again and hope your server does well. It’s much better to get on and support your server, and in the end, you’ll be rewarded for your ‘selfless’ acts.

tl;dr: Don’t hog WvW queue spots and be useless. Put an effort in trying to make sure your world succeed, and you will be rewarded personally.

You do realize that in order to get the achievements that they will be putting in an effort and doing things useful.

The achievements are things like taking objectives, not mining nodes.

A more constructive post would be to mention that they should work with the WvW focused members on their server (getting on VoiP, all that) to maximize their time and experience.
If you want to be in and out, the fastest way to do that is to work with the rest of your server team.
Most commanders recognize that folks want achievements and will try their best to help you achieve them.

Most of the players won’t care cause afaik only winning servers in a league get some special rewards and only 1 server can win. If you are not with the top 3 you won’t care. Cause it does not make a difference.
