I’ve recently been trying to find players to play with during the week who’s prime time are within these time zones. After about a week or two of research I’ve discovered a few things, which are probably common knowledge to all of you
- Most of the guilds that I’ve found are a little small to be effective in WvW. I’m talking less than 30 members
- Most of these guilds don’t appear to be past the establishment phase of guild creation. Sure, some are gaming communities; however, they haven’t stabilized numbers yet.
- The guilds that aren’t small are concentrated on Sea of Sorrow, blackgate, Anvil Rock. Making these guild zergy during the above listed play times which leads to steam rolling during other servers off times.
What this leaves is a pack of small guilds spread across all servers, with little room for growth. It also leaves the few servers, like Sea of Sorrow, with little competition during their prime time. To solve this problem I have a two part proposal.
First, the leadership of the various small guilds from GMT + 7 to GMT +10 get in contact with each other and establish 3 WvW focused Oceanic/Pacific alliances . The alliances should be between 75-100 member strong each. Tomorrow I’ll update this thread with guilds who I believe are candidates for such an alliance(s). Once these alliances or guilds are formed, the leaders of each should then agree to NOT transfer to the same server. It defeats the purpose of the entire process if they are concentrated on a single server.
Once these alliances are formed part two is on the servers hands. Each server that is interested should try and recruit one of these newly formed alliance into their fold. I believe that there are numerous ways to tempt a guild to join a server from gifts of gold and/or crafting material, to strong known alliances using their clout to draw in more talent.
If you are a guild leader or player who is interested in trying to make this proposal work, please respond to this thread or contact me directly.
