Just wanted to quickly come here and say a thank you (in video-shape) to all the people that care about upgrading, sieging and defending stuff.

You are the weels what keeps WvW turning and you are what makes it different from a mindless Eotm train.

Exactly. Upgraders/siegers/defenders are the backbone of a server. Big thank you to all those people bothering with it!

i ran out with my omega golem and kill allot of OG

they responded back with there 2 omega drivers XD was fun

stile anet need to give the golems a speed buff am sure most will use them ??
there is not always a good mesmer around

Golem speed is good.

It just too lame defend in normal wvw. Defending is much more fun in EotM because enemy and own side players get angry.

There’s nothing more awesome than defending SM castle when outnumbered with siege weapons against both opposing factions. It’s like those epic last stands or successful battles with the castle lord which make WVW memorable =D

And a thank you to those commanders who will bring their zerg when called upon to help defend.

Golem speed is good.

I understand where you’re coming from but recently viewing that massive thread involving golems being ‘overpowered/overused’ I think making their movement speed would dramatically increase those complaints and it’s obvious that high dmg with mobility should be something that moves at a slow pace else it would upset the balance.

What you can do though before entering a golem is have a cheap set of runes that grant %25 movement speed so just whack those on and you’ll be able to move a bit faster!

On gunnars hold we have some good defenders. One particular in our BL always defends/scouts at dawns tower. Renamed after him, Tich tower. Very usefull, scouts everything going dawns/garri northcamp.

Thank you for this, OP. I’m pretty new to WvW, but have come to love upgrading, defending, putting up siege, etc. Though it is often heartbreaking (for example, when your siege disappears whenever you aren’t there because nobody can be bothered refreshing it) and lacking in remuneration (badges, rank, loot), the thought and planning required are more appealing than mindlessly following a zerg in circles, taking objectives that the foe is retaking right behind you. Your video captures this perfectly. I still have a lot to learn about it, but I’m looking forward to the lessons.

Da good ole Tichai and his Tichtower ( cliffside/dawns/whatever ). Back when there was this silly no white swords event he camped garrison aka Tichinson.

People who detach from the main force to provide intel / scout / defend, keep upgrades rolling, and speed up yaks when needed are the ones who can make a 1 min cap turn to a 5 min cap. Giving time for the force to come defend. Big props to those who do the dirty work. It’s not glorious but it definitely makes a noticeable difference.

Yeah, it’s a thankless job for the most part. One good thing personally is that you can get some great fights out there hopping around upgrading, checking on swords ect. away from the zerg. We just lost 3-4 of our best scouts/defensive minded players. I missed them the first day they left. I’m sure all the “vets” have also. Zerglings don’t really notice much but what’s going on around the pin… +1 to this thread!
