Tonight I thought I would put my big girl panties on and head over to EB. Mind you, I’m not an avid PvP’er, mostly because I’m not very good at it. But what the hell, I digress. I’ve enjoyed following a zerg and watching how others “do it”. (get your mind out of the gutter)
However, this evening I and a handful of others were on a camp and the Big Guy..you know the one with the buff you can’t kill? I started shooting at him and got the “invulnerable…etc…” well, yes my auto attack was on (boo hoo for you guys who think it should be disabled in pvp) I continued to shoot at it while running.
Another player watching thought he would be a smart-goose (yes I said goose :P) and make a crappy comment….I logged off after waiting 30 mins in the queue)
Now, I usually will engage in defending myself since I’m new at it, but really??? Can we help out other people here, especially if you want more people to go in there.

Agreed on both. Just like in RL you will have those “Har Har yous dumb people”, but the majority will help, join a committed but casual WvW style guild or have your guild work with theirs when in WvW. You will see the friendships and sadly addictions that can build in WvW

transfer to NSP — we have low WvW pop (great PvE community though) so your presence makes a difference.

Best of all, no queues means you can get yelled at without first having to wait 30 mins!

You were attacking the guild supervisor with righteous indignation on, hes meant to be unkillable, and the guy who stood there and watched you attack him…kinda knew that XD

I solo camps all the time, I’ve soloed hundreds and I still sometimes forget to check for the RI buff before attacking.

WvW is a lot of fun, but it also takes a little while to figure out. Honestly I didn’t know about the supervisor buff until I had been playing for some time, although back in those days it was possible to slowly damage him with a big enough zerg. At the time I thought he scaled like a PvE boss and that was the reason it sometimes took forever to bring him down.

The right thing to do would have been to advise you of the buff and explain further if necessary, all in a much nicer manner. I do this a lot myself, and I know I’m not the only one. But there are people who have issues and love to be unkind to others, I suggest you ignore them and utilize the block list if necessary.

Anybody insutling a team member is a moron. Period.

You generally have to be told some things, otherwise you’ll probably not notice. RI buff and siege engine refresh being two of them.

The fact that he insulted you instead of helping you does speak more about him than about you. You’ll “grow up” from being new to WvWvW, but his attitude will probably stick to him.
