Seriously, the queues in tier 1 are game destroying, its compounded by people standing at spawn with heal on auto. Im happy that people do need to afk for a few mins, but when you see the same players in the same place 30 mins after you have been running around its a joke.
A-net please do something about this, once the afk timer has passed do a check on 3 heals in a row with no other action (or any other skill) and then boot them back to character select.

Clap for all the people that suggest leaving tier 1.

But I wanna be on the top teams and not have to wait to get into WvW!

Edit: I support this, by the way. On Friday nights, when I Queue into EB after a 30+ min wait (which I know isn’t -that- long, by comparison), it kitten es me off to no end to see 5-6 people standing around in the starting area, afk. Not only does it prevent players from ACTUALLY playing, it ruins the experience for the ENTIRE team.

Yes, fix this. No one should be able to auto heal at spawn and sit in wvw for hours doing nothing. Worthless players!

try a different server im tier 4 and i havent had a wait time in months a guess what we still do the same stuff as every other tier.
so quit trying to play on the number 1 server just cause you want a garenteed win and get 2-3 times the points in a more competitive tier (PS the current number 1 ranked player wvw is tier 4 last i checked)

While I certainly agree that using underhanded behavior to stay in WvW while you afk for an hour is not acceptable, you should also probably understand Anet would love for you to transfer to a lower population server. So, I’m not sure if I’d expect to see them in any hurry to fix it.

I think that was part of the ideology behind giving free transfers, to say “Hey, we’re trying to even things out.”

Honestly, if it weren’t for free transfers and I had that big of an issue with queuing, I’d just avoid WvW. That should be something ANet should be trying to prevent – the less attached people are to their game, the less likely they’ll be making future (or present, given the gem store) purchases.

Yeah I really wish they’d add more strict afk rules to WvW to avoid people clogging the battlefield. Queues have increased 10 fold on my server over the last couple of days due to free transfer. Sure its nice to see new guilds, but its not so nice to see old guilds be pushed out. Waited an hour for pop in a borderland today and failed to enter any zone after 3 hours yesterday. Last week it was 0-10m queues even prime time on some days

Transfer to GoM. We’re tier 7 and hardly ever have queues to get into WvWvW. Seriously…I can’t think of the last time I actually was kept out of WvWvW because of queues.

How about instead DON’T GIVE FREAKING FREE TRANSFERS to nr1 EU server so people don’t have to spend 24 hours inside the battlegrounds for the fear of 4 hour long queves?

This sounds unreal to be honest.So the Anet staff just had a meeting and the outcome was they decided that the server that was winning for the last 4 weeks in tier 1 needs some more players.What better way to get reinforcements then free transfers right? i mean who in their right minds want to go to the best server FOR FREE.I bet people form high populated servers just swarmed to Vabbi right ?

I believe a lot of people still don’t realize what they have done here.It is actually so unbelievable that maybe not evet Anet itself doesn’t realize what a huge mistake they have done.Oh and the lag…..

ironically the issues is the queue itself…

The queue is long because people /afk-macro, and people /adk-macro because the queue is long to get back in….

Only solution is to up population in wvwvw, which means more maps as the current one cant handle it.

I don’t think the queues are that long…I usually get 30 minutes max NA primetime in EB

Server population and wvw population are almost completely unrelated. Yaks had one of the highest server populations and lowest wvw populations at one time

Safarer’s Rest rank 1 EU medium population server

1 hour queves between 18-23 (most common EU primetime)before last week free xfers .

2 to 4 hours queve atm still medium pop.20 hours + queves 20 hours a day

Server population and wvw population completely unrelated and this is not an exception server,many in EU are like that as well as many very high population servers are in t6 or below.

I keep reading “don’t join #1/T1 servers and then whine for queues” but what many people are missing is people who have been on the same server from the beta and who don’t want to move, so are they wrong because they picked a server while ago, made a lot of friends and guilds there ?
