Q:
ANET Devs, What can I look forward to....?
sorry for you but Anet dev dont give a crap about WvW and the WvW forum
They do care. The problem is, posters such as yourself, make this form of disingenuous claim, simply because they made a change that benefits everyone or a change, and not you personally.

Based on comments from the Devs concerning WvW it looks like they have decided to focus on large group fights. The changes in the patch and upcoming maps are suppose to benefit those style fights.
The problem with the large scale fights 60v60 is that they don’t really allow for skill to make any impact. This makes for boring fights.

True but it allows for a more “inclusive” game mode where skill and practice aren’t necessarily going to be the deciding factors.

If they cared about their customers who play wvw they would communicate. They do not, ergo I can’t fathom how anyone thinks they care? How often do you see them in this forum talking to us? Explaining their reasoning for changes they make? Doing just the most basic customer service things…
Honestly, I have been really disappointed by how Anet doesn’t listen to the WvW community at all. I am a member of a WvW guild and we are all waiting for the guild halls and actually arena where we can fight 15vs15 or 20vs20 in a open field map with no PvE elements, only “pure” player and team skills. The fact that Anet wants to make this game mode more “casual” for players that don’t really put effort into build a team comp and increasing their personal PvP skills really turns me down.
PS: I know my english is bad, it is not my native language
There is no doubt in my mind that the “Adopt a dev” has been a disaster. I am not decided yet about the stab changes, but it is almost certain that this came from the devs very brief exposure to serious WvW guilds. Now we get to see all of their ideas, formed in a few hours of gameplay, and now implemented without any real feedback from the WvW community. The new boarderlands map has a scary amount of PvE in it. Not good. Not good at all.

Being ignored comes to mind.

Handful of Devs ran around in a couple T1/T2 EBG pug blobs. They’re WvW vets and experts now. Trust them, they know exactly what WvW needs to promote this kind of gameplay.

Don’t forget the dev who played during reset night on ebg, explaining why capping SM fast is good while playing a HAMBOW warrior

Sadly, this.

I believe they do listen. For instance on the call for less blobbing, with the new map, what they are trying to do is discourage blobbing/zerging up (according to the description) because ‘direct assault with numbers’ would seem to be unfavourable. However, that applies to when players blob up to take an objective, how about when they blob up to have control of the cannon?
And would this actually back fire by making players create a bigger blob? (I’ve seen a huge blob made of Chinese players about 50+ pvdooring YB keep just because they can)
Also, EoTM has become an official XP/WXP/Karma leveling map. What would this new map be with PvE aspects incorporated similar to those in EoTM?
We have many WvW guilds/players in GW2, I believe we all understand the role of defending and being on the offensive and the roles that lies in between these two. 3 different gameplay in WvW, and those in between, the roles who are not defined truly by Anet, those who love to actually use GW2’s amazing combat mechanics, working together as a guild/party and test them against another player/guilds without predefined restrictions; are the ones (like myself) are questioning if there is life in WvW without being pushed into PvP.
I love using siege as much as the next person, but, besides strategic placements, I would only use 4 keys and at most the siege I man would only act as a deterrent against smart enemies. My end game reduced to a measly 4 static keys is depressing.

For me The new exapansion will be a great disappointment for wvw community.
I have this feeling..and it gets stronger every day.
For example : What’ s the sense in replacing the Alpine borderlands with the new map? The Alpine borderlands are ultra cool and I’ ve had there my best wvw times with my guildies.
It’s a non sense truly. Moreover i totally don’ t like eotm map style..Vertical stuff bah..
I’ m not a climber :P
That’ s why Anet in my opinion is going to make an epic mistake.
And such mistakes in my opinion will make gw2 die.
I want to uderline that many people that i know share my same opinion on this aspect ( freinds guildies random pugs :P ) So..let’ s hope I’ m wrong for gw2 sake..
I remember the time where the dev had talk to the people in this forum, and at this time most of the comments were nice and constructive, okay sometimes they were a little bit annoying for the devs, but okay in my eyes. But then, in 2013 it has stopped, no more talk, not even an “in progress” or so. The complains began with the ignoring, not before. The wvw player wanted to see that they are listened, with no feedback you don’t know this. You see changes for things, which you don’t have asked for, but the players important wishes were still unanswered.
What happened next, the old match-up forum was closed, people have started with necroposting, the first red post after that, was a warning “Don’t do this ever again!”. Then suddenly a kind of hope! More red posts, but unfortunately they have stopped again. I don’t know why? I believe and I’m sure, after the first rage of the people, when the frustated wvw-players have spoken out themselves, they would have been nice again. Why? In wvw, most of the players are really nice and help each other. They do rezzing people. I didn’t seen this fact rarely in a pve-event. They players would have got back the feeling of attention, which is missed at the moment. That’s my summary and view.
And yes I’m salty and I feel the worst for this game. Which makes me really sad.

Indeed, communication is key.
I dont know how any WvW player can defend anet’s attitude to WvW players. Based on coglin’s account, he’s been here for over a year, he should know the way we’ve been treated. That is if he is a WvW player at all.
At launch the communicated with us, we gave feedback, they replied, told us what they liked, what they think they could add and what may be considered in the future.
Then all we got was “we cannot talk about it” for the last 2 years! That’s two years of being fobbed off.
So how coglin can continue to defend anet’s ways are beyond me, in fact I just consider him a troll on the WvW forums. Or perhaps because he’s only been here a year, he, like us, allowed to give anet time to fix things for the first year after launch, only to then be ignored the following two.
