ANET FIX THIS BUG ALREADY kitten
If anet is just now acknowledging some of the issues in wvw that have been there since launch, then judging by this schedule since its a new map; they will acknowledge it in early 2019. Take a year to develop a fix and release it 1/2 a year later. So your suggestion is heard and your fix is incoming by early 2021. Possibly late 2020 if they rush the fix.

The WPs were in the spawn towers which was also a stupid design decision…
Honestly, I don’t know who is in charge of WvW decisions, or what direction they are attempting to force us into going, but no one likes them but QQ all you like, Anet doesn’t give a flying Kitten about it’s players as long as the Gems keep getting sold.

Anet have decided that there is no such thing as “your home borderlands” and we have no right to access an entire map easily. Each map is now a version of EB with each team having a spawn and a “home keep” with their very own WP in.
I think this is very misguided and have expressed my opinion in several threads before, like many other people. Anet originally put these waypoints in the towers closest to each spawn and when players complained that the WP in the towers were useless because only one team could use them they moved them into the keeps. Go figure!
I assume Anet believe that this change has helped produce more of the epic battles they know should be happening in the Deserted Borderlands. It is, however, most certainly intentional and therefore not a bug.

It is incredibly stupid and nonsensical. You capture east/west keeps on your own bl and there is a contested wp that your side can never use. And if the enemy captures it they have a wp open right away that they dont have to bother upgrading for…gg anet

The only way you will get any action on this issue is if they decided to move their e-sports venue to the BLs.

And what incentive do WvW players have to buy gems? Nothing from the gem store works in WvW anymore, does it? Can we water balloon fight or costume brawl in WvW?
