I’ve noticed that Elementalists are now able to place AOE field on top of walls, beyond where their characters should logically be able to see. Is this an unintended side effect of the new FoV slider, or something else?

Solution: Don’t drop siege in a place where it can be targeted from outside an objective.

Which right now means, don’t drop siege at all ?

Not at all.

There are at LEAST 7 un-targetable spots in each tower and more in keeps.

If they cannot target, they cannot use Dragons Tooth. Amd aoe is simply a matter of adjustment. Try mid-steps.

Stand outside your tower to determine best placement. If you can’t click on it, neither can they.

I hate to shatter your naïve view the game, but some people do use cheats to see further than they should. Here is an old video demonstrating this!

I hope this has broadened your horizons with who plays this game. The only solution is to make more abilities restricted by line of sight.

Probably zoom hacking, my main is staff ele and I can use the new FOV to see a lot further than I can place meteor shower. Unless you’re talking about Dragons Tooth which I could use to target legitimately using FOV but its range is only 900 so I can’t hit anything too far away.

If you are talking about siege placed directly above the “portal rooms” in ebg double doors keep or nw wk, you can aim through the tiny silts. It’s basically an 5-10 radius area so you have to move carefully and accurately. Also, free casting fire 1 with manual aim through camera positioning will work with silts.

All those siege placements are ridiculously old … And, as you see, ineffective.

Again. Place your siege, go outside, can you see it? Can you tag it? If so, so can the enemy. Revise your placement.

Or keep stubbornly using the same spots, lol.

yes, and finally you have to place your AC in spot where you have to cheat with no LOS abuse, and camera zoom… I know there is multiple spot where you can place AC behind the wall, those AC are very hard to destroy from the outside.
But that’s the same cheaty technique that offensive ac… Your arrow just going through the wall….
If you have to use broken game mechanics to protect you from other broken thing, then there is a real issue with the game…

I agree with you 100%.

Wall siege is the issue being discussed. Yes there are places within the keep or tower on the ground, steps, supply huts, rocks (if available) to throw ACs and other siege but the issue at hand is WALL siege.

The AOEs are so large and so brutal now that if an ele or eles get under you or on the side of you then forget it. Wall siege has been rendered all but ineffective unless you have tons of it and you have the people already on it when the attack begins. And you hope as a collective you can keep as many of your ACs as possible firing down and keeping the squishy eles away.

Lets take Blue in EB. Try placing siege on top of a wall that lasts in QL, Bravost, Langor, and Durios. And I mean your normal 2 or 3 ACs in a paper or reinforced tower. That is what seems to be the most likely scenario.

We all know that Durios and QL hardly get fortified and are islands unto themselves. Try dropping WALL siege at either, you can’t because the walls are too narrow and the eles AOE is too great. Both are exposed on all sides so eles can go right under anywhere and bomb the siege. Not saying I still don’t try to throw ACs on the widest portions of the wall just to thwart a mild attack but full on blob, no way. Eles wreck wall siege.

Langor and Bravost are pretty much the same. Bravost has that cliff on the northern and eastern side so you could hide an AC on the wall for a bit by the steps and shoot through the gate, that is until an ele makes the jump and gets under you. But that’s your best shot there.

Langor is totally open on all three sides to ele bombs. Most don’t go around back but they do try to jump around the front where the bridge is. Placing an AC on the keep side towards the steps, like Bravost is the only place for wall siege. Thankfully the keep is there for both Bravost and Langor so support trebs and mortars usually run off most attacks. But again, the WALL siege is melted and ineffective.

Wow. I was there. I could be wrong but I think that was Dgin manning the AC. Always thought something was fishy but I didn’t say anything.
