Well today atm : 0:17 on gandara we have a proff.. .that even lowering the numbers… solves nothing.. on T1 we just had big fight but… we had like 3 sec skill delay.. even with reduced people on map..
I just started playing again, and found out each borderland is only 60 people max now. Wow, i can’t believe Anet did this to WvW. It’s bad enough wvw players get shafted already, but this was seriously stupid.
Not only that, but i can already tell that large guilds will be hostile towards non-guildies for taking up a slot they would rather have their guildies use.
I am under the impression that is in EU only and that the NA servers are with in 10% of the previous max, based on one of the more recent post on this thread from Stephen.

Truth be told, to fix this would be to have guilds transfer down. More randomized matchups. It’s not what we want be any means, but the game did advertise 125vs125vs125. It’s on the box.

As coglin said, the dev said he had reduced the cap limit, and upped it up to 10% of what it was before he changed anything. And it is a temp change until he has rooted out the problem with the server-lag. And for all I know it might be to make metrics easier to read on his end etc.
It will be back, once they have killed the problem.
Also reading this I’m wondering just how much action is on EBG compared to BL’s. Might be more worth replacing 1 BL with another EBG copy at this rate.
Edit: just to clarify since I realized my above was a bit unclear:
* Dev reduced population by approx -20% first when there was a problem. (80% of original)
* Dev then changed it to only -10% as it stabilized a bit (now to 90% of original)
* Dev is going to put it back once the problem with the server lag is fixed.

I seriously doubt that, it still seems a fair bit lower than it used to be. Or they did it on the US servers but forgot about EU. But I dont know, I dont think Anet will ever tell us the real numbers.
Yesterday our guild was able to bring 12 people on a border with just as many in queue. Two more guilds had about 20ish each and another one the same size – which replaced a guild that gave up trying to gather due to queue. There where no pug zerg, just a few random roamers. There wouldnt have been space for any either. The queue didnt move much for about 1.5 hours (bursts coming when guilds gave up trying to get people in). What we faced was a guild blob of around 40 people, with maybe 20ish randoms and a smaller guild with 8 or so peeps. The third server had two guild groups with maybe 20-30 each plus randoms.
It was just dull, didnt see much action until most of us managed to gather east of garrison.
ya’ll must be high on goofballs if you rather play with lag than suffer 10 fewer zerglings in your pile . . . seriously? For many other reasons, lower WvWmap population caps could be very good for the long term health of the game so lets not over react like spoiled drama queens whenever ANET does a little testing. We should be encouraging experimentation instead of bristling for minor changes.
Ever think that maybe there is a combination of things going on to make the queues longer lately? And actually NA t1 had a queue spike a few weeks ago (b4 the map cap was lowered for testing) but then it mellowed out significantly lately. Queues are the price we pay for insisting we cant play the game without 80 of our closest friends available 24/7 to jump into action. o.O You have the power to alter your reality if you so choose.
