Just a hypothetical that fell into my brain… for WXP being alt friendly (and assuming it’ll never become account-wide), what would you all think of the possibility that when your character gains WXP all of your alts gain a percentage of that WXP as well? Your character in WvW gains 100 WXP and each alt gains 25, 50, whatever as a percentage?

Newly created characters would still start out with none, but they’d be able to get it while you play others. This way someone can’t create a brand new character with maxed abilities. It’s alt friendly, but it also means to get max benefits for characters you actually need to be playing those characters.

I think this would be a nice middle ground to account bound vs character only. Thoughts?

I think account bound WxP would be the most realistic fix to a simple issue, but since they have stated that they will not be doing that, this is a good alternative. Even something like adding an apprentice system would be fine by me. You would choose a character on your account to “apprentice” your main, and that character would essentially share the WxP gain or even gain a percentage of WxP. Something along the lines of that Pokemon item that you could give to back line Pokemon that would allow lower levels to level up via your higher level fighters. This would allow you to either give WxP to an alt, or even play on an alt, and apprentice your main, and not feel like you are falling that far behind. I feel like it is an easy medium between the two.

WxP Will Not Be Account Bound and you will like this…

Devon said they have something in the works to make it more alt friendly. I’m hoping they just make all the wxp rank point share a common pool. Kinda like how tokens are now. Keeping your World rank seperate and allowing you to spend rank points on any character.

Bumping a thread for the sake of bumping without any constructive discussion is against the code of conduct. If I gained one world xp level on my main and every other character gained half a level then after ten levels I would have five more world xp chests to open on all my alts who also gained world xp. This would be broken. Would work for any other percentage for alts just different numbers

The only viable option is to make it account bound.

Every time I feel like playing an alt in wvw I mainly don’t, purely due to the char bound w exp system. It’s an awful system and they need to go back and rethink the stupid decision to insist that they will never make it account bound.

It’s made me stop playing on one account, and restricted my play to pretty much one toon, which is not as much fun as being able to switch between one of my many level 80’s to suit the sort of playstyle I want to engage in.

But since Anet has wvw as the lowest priority, I would be surprised if anything ever happens.

Going to keep tagging any thread that supports account bound WxP until they change it, I quit the game or get banned for it.

What do we want, Account bound WxP! When do we want it, As soon as the devs can write it.
