I will try to explain my problem.

I have/had 4 commander tags. Since the commander change was announced publicly that even those with 1 tag will get upgraded to the new system, everyone rushed to buy it “cheaper” before the update.

I see it this way that since the information was made public before the patch, pretty much letting every single person buy the tag cheaper those with more then one commander tags should be able to get a refund.

Announcing it publicly like that, in my opinion just screwed with all those people who actually gave a kitten about commanding and bought more than one commander tag.

To be honest, I would be completely fine with that change if it wouldn’t be announced at all. “Ok, who would have known, no harm done”. Those who did not buy the commander tag before patch would have to pay the new price. No hard feelings.

So my question is, Can i get a refund for 3 out of 4 commander tags that i have since i paid for them 400g and 1000 badges of honor and allllllll of those other people paid only 100g and 250 badges of honor?

No. You will however receive 100g through the in-game mail within 48 hours as a refund for the 4th tag.

I’m so happy that except of buying the game I did not waste a nickle on this company afterwards.

Is anyone else seeing account wide commander tags? I thought a long time before giving up 100 gold last night for a tag, and now it’s NOT account wide. Did they not advertise that tags would be account wide?

EDIT: It becomes account wide after loading the character with the tag.

I also have 4 commander tags.

I had 8 tags (one for every class cept engie… and 1 doubled up on warrior). I’d like to get a refund but I can understand if anet doesn’t want to break the economy with it (so much gold flowing back in)

Same for me, i had 4 tags before the announce.
A refund of only 1 tag (and not 3) is a bit unfair, some just bought 1 tag and have the account title benefit…
Then who bought more than 1 tag “before” the patch have to pay the price “after” the patch ?
Arenanet, you listen players’ feedback? Ok, just know that’s unfair.

Possible solution: refund only 2 or more tags if they were bought more than 30 days in past.
I had 5-6 tags, most of them bought last year. Yes those palyers that bought just 1 tag last week spend much less for account bound commander tag and of course its much easier to earn 100gold now then 1 year ago.

Dev said it would be automatically mailed out within 48 hours of the patch.

Turns out it doesn’t matter if you bought 4 or 4000 tags, they are only going to refund 100g.

Should’ve never bought a tag in the first place for any of my 7 toons, would have saved 300g in the end.

On the other hand, glad I stopped spending any real money on this game many months ago when I vowed not to spend anything on it until the fix the ranger pet by allowing perma stow and keybinds for active/guard.

My first thought was being angry i didn’t know about the change and didn’t get a tag before it.

My second thought was that i really don’t command period so i don’t actually need it.

It’s funny how many people run around with tags, and yet how difficult it can be to get a commander online in WvW(this is talking about Far shiverpeeks BTW)
