After League ...
What is next? Leagues are destroying the small communities at an alarming rate. My bet is to solve this they start adding in Random Boss spawns who have a .01 chance to drop a legendary. This solves 2 problems it gets rid of the pesky wvw players and opens up spots in the Queue for pve players.
I personally hope they do away with leagues. It is far too easy to stack servers in the current system. If they did leagues and blocked xfers for the week before through duration that would be one thing, but they don’t(and won’t) so it all boils down to numbers and who is willing to pay to move to stack. Time frame, color or w/e will not matter and low pop servers will continue to get the shaft and stacked servers will continue to be bored. win/win for everyone right?
The other day I was thinking that we could do a true red, green, blue, but it can’t happen. All one would have to do is ask, “Hey which color are we going to do this week?” and stack that color. League may work if you base it on a single server, but not over all I think.

I believe a good strategy for ANET would be to possibly consolidate low pop servers into higher pop servers. Instead of 24 servers (6-8 of which can’t field large WvW numbers) in 3 Leagues, maybe go to 18 servers on 2 Leagues. Give only the low pop servers free transfers to a server of their choice, and lock the transfers for all other servers (or make them pay an actual monetary fee to transfer, no more gems).
This will give the Bronze Leaguers a chance to be incorporated into a larger pool of WvW player zergs, not to mention the increase in PvE players. Couple that with an increase in BL populations server-wide (instead of 100 per server cap, maybe bump it to 200 or something). Balance it all out with some Skill Lag modification, and some tweaks to defense/siege timers, and I think it could work out pretty well.
Another thought would be to couple servers together and keep the 3 League system in place. 24 servers could give 12 coupled matchups for some communal WvW play. 3 leagues of cooperative matches (SBI/CD vs. DB/BP vs. YB/IOJ for example) might be something worth considering.
ANET can use their vast system of Metrics and Statistics for WvW Population per server and make a determination based off high/low stats. Match a high pop server with a low pop server, etc. etc. etc. and switch it up every week in a League-wide scenario. Instead of a 1st, 2nd, 3rd reward system, make it only 1st place per League and give out very nice rewards (gems, gold, BL keys, a combination of all 3).
And for god’s sake ANET, open a test server!!!!!
I need more targets,..! thx Anet

That would overstack the NA timezone even more on the gold league and exacerbate problems with the already long queues.
Maybe some of these servers don’t need the alliance. It really isn’t a bad idea for servers that never have queue though. Ideally they would be combined in a way that gives better 24 hour coverage, but that may be asking a bit too much.
The fact that lower tier servers had so few players and no queues was actually their main selling point prior to Leagues. It’s when ANet deciding to match them up against far larger servers that people started clamouring for “balance”.
I think Anet will do something about the wvw population, since the overflow map will be in the game a few weeks after the leagues end. Anet will not combine any server because they are lacking wvw population. Some server have a large pve population but no one wants to wvw on them.

Nothing has changed playing against the no queue servers in our league; three servers in our league have no queues. Unless those sides play one another things are the same – two stronger sides wipe them off the map. Merging certain servers might go a way to solving this “might”.
I’d love to face JQ & SoR every single week after leagues.
After leagues, it is just gonna be the same as before leagues. RNG match ups.
I wish it would go back to your tier being your matchup.
as much as some ppl complained about it being “stale”.. it had a much higher percentage of matches being actually balanced and worth fighting.

I made a thread about this earlier, but I would love if it went to tier matchups for at least a month. Let us all fight equal opponents for a time. So many servers have changed quite a bit, I think it would be fine if we all got to fight out where we stand.
It doesn’t need to be permanent in case it would get stale again, but it would be great for a couple weeks.
The problem is not population size — it’s rather population disparity between servers. It’s fine to have some servers be big and others small — as long as they’re never matched up.
If each server has a few other neighboring servers of comparable size, there’d be a good variety of matchups. Currently, there are too many instances of servers that are next to each other in ranking but have enormous differences in coverage.
