All the duelers in EOTM
That’s wvw, there’s always a risk a zerg will run you over, it’s on them to have awareness to avoid it. If duelers want a safe spot, there’s the arenas available.

I encountered some duelers in EB last night. I didn’t realize what they were doing at first, as they were on the NE side of smc up against the clifffs…..being red, I started plugging at them with siege. Even hollered on map chat about it.
Once I realized what they were doing, I laid off, as EB was pretty quiet at that time later last night…..no harm, so what the heck…go at it. I actually enjoyed watching them from the wall of smc for awhile. But they weren’t in any major path…..just within sight of smc.
My feelings about duelists that pick bad spots……run them down……they’ll pick a different spot soon enough.

I never understand why duelers choose to do their thing near common hot spots. If your goal is to go 1:1 (or 2:1 or 2:2 etc), then wouldn’t you want to place yourself somewhere that the peanut gallery isn’t likely to intrude?
A couple of weeks ago, two guys were fighting along the common player route to a supply camp — every time I passed, I started to attack the enemy, thinking I was coming to the add of an ally. It was only because my party-mates steered me off that I even thought to consider that it was a duel.
Tonight and edge of the mist was great it was to 10 PM Eastern reset and these guys set up right near the three sides are running them over again and again only to hear them screaming about how they were dueling. Lol. Love it.

I actually think that’s not a good spot for dueling, although it has come to be known as the area duelers often go to. Only reason I say that … is it’s a major route for green to come back, especially when they own SMC. Maybe it’s only an issue in the upper tiers, but I often see that tags run from say durios up along that side to ogrewatch or as a short cut through to anz even.
Personally speaking most of the time when I see a couple enemies up there …. I sort of leave them be unless they fire off a shot when I run by. Only because of the common knowledge about that area being a central point for duelers, and I believe in NA anyway that propagated in large part from the HATS guild long ago.
But you will almost always see some of the zerg peel off and chase them down, by nature. I’ve always wondered why duelers never used the outskirts of one of the three home zones, or say, the area where the lizards are south of the frogs at the hero point. I don’t think anyone really goes in there.
And yes, of course … /obsidian sanctum … but it’s often deserted so they flock to a map with people on it.
If you don’t want your duels getting interrupted, take them to OS ;x
Run them over, it’s WvW, their constantly picking silly spots to duel and then cry when they get ran over. If you play on the highway eventually you’re going to get ran over.
Just ignore their whining, or bring a mug and fill it with their tears and enjoy a satisfying yet salty beverage.
Not a dueler myself, though I run with a few of them. But from what I’ve seen, a lot of the duels are spontaneous, and not organized or planned. So they just sort of “happen” wherever we happen to be at the time.
I do agree that I think it is silly to duel around SMC and in the middle of the roads etc, and I often tell them that they should stay out of sight if they want to duel, but you don’t always have communication with the opponent etc.
It is as it is, and as long as the duelers accept that they can get run over or move, it isn’t a problem. But for some reason, it is often the non-duelers that seems to have a problem with if… can’t figure out why.

Have some respect for other peoples playstyles. It’s usually 1 person, just let them do their thing. Ofc you can kill 1 dude with 50 people but why not be classy instead? They are quite literally having zero impact on a zerk or havok group.
And besides all of that, duelers are usually pretty good players, it’s better they are sitting outside SM than killing your stranglers ^^
If people “duel” next to a keep or tower or any other high traffic location its their own dumb mistake to be interrupted. Tons of spots and even a whole map ( OS ) where you can duel freely without interruptions.
Can’t feel sorry for the kittenheads.

Don’t argue with idiots, they pull you down their level and own you with experience.
Those duelers constantly flip needle(causing RI) when they’re bored. I’ve seen tags that know they’re dueling yet actively plow them over(rightfully so). When asked why, tag says they give zerg intel. If they want to duel, they should pick a better spot.
Most of them duelers are actual roamers just having a good scrap. Sometimes yes a fight club does happen around sm but it’s never at the main gate. They are normally down the slopes away from enemy npc archers so they can’t even get agro. Duels also happen with out any planning or warnings they just happen, I went to do daily bloodlust capture and when I got there, there was a fight going on, being a sportsman guy I let them go at it only for the Victor to back away from the other downed guy to self rally. After 10-15 mins of duels we took it in turns in capturing the blooldest then went on our own separate ways.
Interupting duelers with a blob is a silly idea because the dueler will just call friends and chase the blob around and gank their back lines. I know because I have been summoned my self if they are on a path or literally out side a keep/tower then that’s their problem but going out of your way just to get a cheap gank with 20 odd people is just as Sas as them duelers in the wrong spot.

Yea, where they were dueling would have been an issue if it has been busier in EB. But it was around 10pm west coast time, and the area was slow, so no harm no foul. And they weren’t complaining when I initially started sieging them….a couple of the eles would just come over to the wall and try to take out the siege. Once I realized what they were doing and quit, they didn’t bother my siege, either.
I didn’t realize it was a common area for duelers, as it seems a little exposed to me. I will know better in the future….but if it is busy out there, I won’t hesitate to call them out in mapchat to the zerg.
