I understand why the Desert maps looked like they were just hastily cropped onto the mists map…because they were.

But the alpine maps were part of the original mists map artwork….why did you guys go through and crop the map artwork out and paste it over top of the existing mists map? The cropping wasn’t done very well, either.

Here is what I am talking about. Original map from Google:

I also noticed the flickering gates in the BL yesterday.. I know you fixed them on the DBL but it seems to have come back with the Alpine BL.

Does those fix include some minor changes to map layout?

There is a a few empty spots at north east and west, skrit zone and centaur skill point, probably u guys could get ( something non gimmick >:] ) or more castle and tower, or special camps with some features included on those spots, cause alpine BL looks so small, i still prefer that map over EB tower treb wars.

A castle layout similiar to the old vigil near LA with its own supply line would be interesting for small groups to recover a bl when a server is outmaned and adversary blob figthing empty stuff??

A bit offtopic but also related to WvW QoL, some personal opinion:

Blobs are way to much efective due the spam capacity of aoe and cleave skills existent in this game, and the Alpine BL is to small for blobs.

I imagine WvW quality also depends from the balance team and how they manage the spam fest of the classes, and i feel that should be take into account of a better game, by reducing the number of aoe skills and cleave skills (all players do is stack and spam at commander order), but then improve some aoe skills to be more aoe’ish from 5 to 7 targets, we would end with less aoe/cleave spam but better aoe skills, that needed to be casted more tactical, and lesser server calcs would return in less lag?

I think that Alpine BL would be better if game wasnt so based on cluster of players spamming aoe, just my opinon.

They were working on a fix for the desert BL being just plopped on top of the map — six months ago. It’s clearly extremely difficult and complicated to fix, so don’t start getting impatient until maybe mid 2017.

Just chalk it up as Balthazar being drunk when he changed the maps and that he forgot to erase the surrounding land.
