Ok, I remebered there was a thread about WvW ratings, how it’s calculated and stuff. But i can’t find it for some reason.

So I tried to find out myself, and after 3-4 weeks I thought it was like this:

1. You win the WvWvW game, you increase a tier
2. You become 2nd, you stay in the same tier
3. You lose, you decrease a tier.

This makes sense right? Apperently it doesnt according to ArenaNet, because Abbadons Mouth(?) AM for short, made a jump of 4(!) rank and skipped a tier? This doesn’t make sense to me…

So can someone explain me the rating, or link the thread about WvW rating

The ratings system in a nutshell:

Each rating is a measure of “skill” of the server, regardless of you define it. When the server matches up three servers, it uses the ratings to create a prediction of how well each server will do. If you match that prediction, you have 0 change. If you do better than it, you have a ratings increase. If you do exceptionally better than the system expects, you can jump a large number of rating points, which can let you skip entire tiers.

At the beginning of each new rotation, the results are used, new ratings are calculated based on each servers performance vs expected result, and then new matchups are created.
