Am I an kitten?

PPT and fights aren’t mutually exclusive. One of the best ways to pick a fight is to hit your enemy’s garrison.

That’s true you can get some fights from going for PPT, it just doesn’t seem like a lot though. I wish the game encouraged players fighting each other. Instead of fighting NPCs

Hey guys. I love to WvW. It’s the only reason I still play this game. I am wondering though, am I the only one who doesn’t give a rats kitten about PPT?
You are not the only one. I have almost stopped WvW play because our server is locked in with a heavy oceanic server which means A LOT of PvDoor on both sides. Even roaming has dried up. Our small (2-3) group nearly flipped 7 camps in a row on Sunday and didn’t see a single soul.
I logged in to find us PvDooring on Saturday and promptly logged out because there are only so many doors I can knock down with PvE fights on the other side.

PPT and OPEN field fights are mutually exclusive though. I would prefer not to engage an enemy that has access to:
-Portal Bombs from behind their keep walls
-Siege
-The Wall Portal they can veil through
-Siege
-The ability to run inside when things go bad for them
-oh and Siege
To the OP no it doesn’t make you a kitten. I enjoy taking things every once in a while because otherwise I would never get loot in this game (I RARELY PVE). 90% of my time is spent solo roaming or finding fights with guildies/friends.
PPT is only a metric that matters in close matchups (Read almost never), and even then it is really more about Population, than about skill.

You definitely aren’t alone. I acknowledge that the outcome of WvW matches is determined by PPT, but I’m not sitting here with the overlay up on my side-monitor and timing tower/supply caps in the <5:00 range to guarantee the tick.
However, while wandering, I kill all of the yaks and guards that I find, which contributes towards WvW score. Also, I believe (could be wrong?) that player kills count towards the score, so roaming isn’t totally terrible for your world’s score.
Though that doesn’t stop me from leaving people alive sometimes after a well-fought 1v1.
