Guild Wars 2

So today I decided to run around on the new borderland map and try to look at it from a fresh perspective. While doing so I came across a cliff overlooking the west keep’s lava flow and the shrine of fire. here’s the question:

The first group of pictures is the top ledge that drops down to another ledge that appears to just be a total dead end. Once you jump down there, you are stuck. You cannot drop down, you cannot go back, you are simply at a dead end. Your options seem to be to suicide jump, WP to a keep / spawn, exit WvW, or log out.

Could you please evaluate the decision that went into putting this spot in the game and consider it is a good example of poor execution on the new maps? Was it put on the map as a joke in some attempt to troll players? Like so many other decisions made for WvW it just makes little sense.

Haven’t really looked at that spot real close yet. Aside from scenery I see no purpose, just another of many, many places to fall and die.

Many, many, many, many – oh, I probably ought to stop watching tv shows while in WvW now. It’s just as empty as before, but now there are so many new accidental ways you can die!

Ohh I remember those.. we literaly landed there within the first 5min of our first HoT-WvW-raid. Since we had to waypoint back anyway the whole zerg jumped to it’s death.. I felt quite trolled.

I had to WP out…Do Not Pass Go….Return to Start.

I figure it’s a venus fly trap for whatever that gets un-lucky to drop into it.

Or, we’re going to be allowed to use Gliders from HoT as a nice surprise present on Christmas morning…but we haven’t been told that yet.

If you control all the air shrines and have the buff, you don’t take any falling damage.

Now does that make sense?

omg, wouldn’t that be epic? The lower tiers play on the old Alpine BL’s, and people on the higher tiers can get there instead of waiting in que by taking the portal and playing for the corresponding color on the lower tier Alpine map.

Maybe there will be an entrance for the new Raid like Darkness Fall in DAOC or something what adds even more PvE to the borders. Anet Style you want WvW here you have more PvE in your border

You only take no fall damage near the east-keep. This place is nowhere near that, so you still die.
