An idea for matchups
What if green got 3rd place and blue got 2nd red 1st?

Well how it would work is , green would be the loser from the higher tier blue is the server who stayed in the tier and red is the server who moved up from the last tier.

I don’t think an entire server moving down a tier or up a tier is a good idea. That would encourage big guilds to “boost” a server up easily to where it’s not supposed to be and could simply leave. The current system is not bad, but what really needs to be fixed is wvw is general. If they fixed wvw more players would play and shut off server transfers would balance the rankings
NA T5 is a great example of why this is an awful idea. This week has looked better with Maguuma not running away with the matchup early, but for quite a few weeks prior to that they dealt with basically 4 “T4” servers with only 3 spots for the matchup. The bottom of the four servers dropped into T5 and doubled up the other two servers there.
Looking a little further at more matchups than that:
Right now Ehmry Bay would be dropping into T5 under this setup and Anvil Rock would jump up into it from T6. Just two weeks ago, Ehmry Bay dominated that tier, and likely would again.
Devona’s Rest or Borlis Pass (practically tied right now) would drop into T6 where last week DR ran away with that matchup early.
Kaineng is moving up anyway, so that has no effect this particular week.
Sorrow’s Furnace would move up into T7 (where they dropped out of last week after being dominated by GoM who is probably the only “true” T7 server right now) while Darkhaven (instead of NSP) drops into that tier.
Now, these sorts of issues would happen every other week (in the best case scenario) for all of the servers T5 through T8. Basically, to “fix” a perceived issue that ultimately only affects T1 and T2, you’d essentially end WvW playability for all those other tiers. We’ll see how Blackgate does in T1 next week.
/As an aside, I see you’re from Maguuma, if you can’t run away with the matchup in T5 like every other T4 server has, you belong in T5. Ehmry Bay and Dragonbrand (post transfers) have done that, if you want to play on the same level as them, you should be able to too.
