Hiya,

Please review siege disablers

Currently having no cooldown time on disablers or them lasting so long is making assaulting even paper towers excruciatingly painful as well as frustrating on a whole new level.

Don’t get me wrong, I love good long sieges and assaults, even failing after hours of work trying to take something down it’s still good fun, same as if we spend 1-3 hours and manage to capture, but for he sake of enjoyment disablers are such a killyjoy :/

I’ve been attacking t1 and t3 towers this month and with full supply or even 30-40 supps enemies are just spamming disablers. Last night we got disabled 15 times by one guy, I know what people will say "you should have blocked it or kept him off wall, but it’s impossible to stop a full stance warrior disabling again and again, this is in a tower with 400+ supply..

Even if we have a cooldown time on siege disablers or siege being disabled I feel very strongly against them, there’s already the option of trebs behind gates and mass ac fire but disablers just make it too much and kill the fun imo.

If other players could give their opinions I’m all ears, but I just hope a dev picks up on this because I really feel they need some kind of nerf, on top of this when HoT comes and there will be no PvD damage it’s gonna be a real struggle when we end up being disabled 5+ times at a t1 tower

It’s a decent way to make supply = stronger defense. Most supply depots are just used for zerg resupply and not actually used for defense. Like in the good’ole days (medieval era) castle ‘sieges’ took place to slowly starve out the people inside as attacking it full strength was not an option.

I do see how it can be frustrating to be stuck just standing there for so long not getting anywhere towards taking a tower other than a slow supply drain.

I think the main reason they were added was to help prevent the 10 superior rams taking a t3 tower gate down in 2 minutes issue.

Some tips for assaulting againts someone spamming siege disablers. Keep you siege spread out, that means use catapults if you have too instead of rams, the defender will run out of supply/disables quicker if he has to throw one per siege you have set up. Keep an eye on the disable timer, you can normally get one attack in before they disable again meaning you can slowly bring the gate/walls down. PvD, they can’t disables your auto attack on the door (until expansion hits and most towers have anti-PvD upgrade).

With the massive AC nerf, disablers are about the only way a less populated defending force can slow a zerg long enough for a fight. WvW isn’t EotM and disablers are meant to create longer fights and less PvD.
