Another pointless poll has just hit my screen and as I have said in my current WvWvW world if we get another pointless poll I will ask the question we all want answered.

Should Elite classes be allowed in Hbl’s?

For those of you who answer every Anet WvW poll without having a clue what you’re doing as you don’t play WvW this is quite simple.

2 person teams of elites that can work in harmony can kill almost any defenders of slightly greater numbers. Might sound a bit OTT but simply people take elite pvp builds, go to wvw and roam in groups or in the case of some DD builds solo, the pug defenders can’t do much about it. 2 or 3 DD’s against 5 or 6 pugs are unstoppable.

May sound like fun if you are the elite but people are dropping from home defence and solo roaming. If you play WvW on certain servers you will of met the (about to be) infamous Sky Teef. A DD that takes so long to kill people don’t even bother defending camps as it takes too long and they get bored. Its easy to say make your build anti-DD but then the Dragon Hunter you hit next eats you.

Obviously people have always roamed and good pvpers are good at what they do but some of the elite builds frankly take the kitten. New people are being Ganked (I’m an EVE player so know what that really means but will use it in GW2 terms) without even seeing their killers.

People in EOTM deserve what they get and EB is about follow the leader, if you are in a group of 50 rolling 10 who cares on your build but the actual borderlands need sorting out, not ’ Should player have cannon bp’s.’

PvE is for people who have never seen MMO’s.
PvP is for people who have their console controllers plugged into their pc.
PvD happens, and can make a difference (even if you look ashamed afterwards).
WvW should be for people who enjoy the game and the MMO aspect, not for pure elite PvP builds, there’s a place for that, its called PvP.

The first answer would of been ‘but anyone can be elite’ and yes they can (if they pay) but the point is elites are killing hbl, 20 minute fights might be fun to some but that is why there is a huge PvP section.

Any roamer should have a fair chance against any other roamer, if one is a pvp god then fair enough but fair hasn’t been around for a while now.

I believe instead of having players pay to use unbalanced elite specializations, ANet should balance the Especs with vanilla builds so both are about on par with eachother.

I have no problem with HoT or people paying, it may be badly put but my point is about things like massive dps and almost perma invis toons.

Core Thief and Core Mesmer still apply to “your point”. HoT is no culprit in there.

I agree Elite Specs are too strong compared to their Core Counterparts, but the only way to solve this would be bring Core Specs par with the Elites. Not allow people who paid for HoT to play their spec in WvW is just unfair.
