Anvil Rock is a nice and fun server. If whoever is considering a server, Anvil Rock is definitely a good choice.

They have good commanders and know how to work well with each other.

How serious is your wvw?

Well we have only been working on moving up in tier. Currently in tier 5 (blue). We have moved up two tiers in the last 3 months. And I’d say overall we hold up well in WvW. We just need to work on getting more people so we can fill up all the Battlegrounds.

Every time we have a close matchup somebody in our tier goes and makes a recruitment thread.

Sorry boys and girls, AR is closed to large guild transfers and as for newcomers, while we are very welcoming, please by no means flock to our server alone. BP is our sister server, and while the personalities couldn’t be farther apart, we share the same fight and ferocity. Please consider them as well, as we are very close in population and skill to them, and would HATE to ruin our pairing. Ebay outnumbers us, so I’d dissuade you from trying them out, but a glance in their direction wouldn’t be too rude, I suppose. (Don’t worry about the smell though, a zerg their size is bound to leave some unmentionables behind.)

As for being serious in WvW, while its true that we have been climbing the tiers alongside BP, its inaccurate to say that we are a WvW server, and I personally like it like that. We hold our own and have earned respect against kitten near every server we go toe to toe with, but we’re no Kaineg. We came up through hard honest work, not from transfers and bandwagoning (no offence to the old guard of Kaineg). In fact, we really have only placed 1st in 3 match ups since release, and the one that wasn’t a landslide was a real nail biter that came down to the last hour. We usually place 2nd, and we’re proud of the fact that we can always manage to keep it pretty close and keep 1st place on edge till the final day. While we got a little bit of publicity when Anet released the leaderboards and finally vindicated us by showing that the top 100 Spvp players included 61 from Anvil Rock, our WvW is middle of the road. We do what we can with what we have, and try not to complain about our lot. Our WvW is VERY stable on account of our server pretty much being a wallflower. We don’t claim to be something we’re not and we don’t like rockstar CO’s that come through and try to be the king of Anvil Rock. (and we have the stories to dissuade anyone from thinking otherwise) Since we never really got much recognition, we never really had bandwagoners, and so our WvW is usually made up of battle hardened vets that fight through the week no matter what the score. We have a few large WvW guilds, and they usually coordinate the Borderlands (and do a pretty kitten good job imho), while our Eternal is more or less left to the Pugs. A few devoted CO’s jump in and try to herd us cats as best they can, and 40oz (posted above) is one of the better ones, but don’t let that turn you off Eternal. They are fun folks with a whole lot of fight, and being a pug myself I love running alongside my server mates and not having to worry about vent or team speak while still able to get a lot done.

Its been a slow way to get to Tier 5, and personally I hope we stay here. T4 seems too serious and we don’t have the coverage to move up, honestly. I like it here and I even like who were with. I like that we are competitive without it feeling like a chore. We’re laid back and will usually choose close fights over easy wins any day of the week. If you like the way that sounds, come take a look; if not, well, its better you know now than coming here under false pretense and not enjoying yourself.
