Guild Wars 2

Just experienced this today. A couple of Gan(k)dara guilds literally camped themselves infront of our spawn (playing on Aurora Glade, map was Gandara Alpine Borderlands) and blocked all of the possible ways to escape. There were less of us than them and they had many thieves and dragonhunters. Even after they departed these gank squads were roaming around and would destroy everyone 4v1. I mean, I would have no personal satisfaction from that, but I guess they find that fun. The problem is that I don’t find it fun to get instakilled from stealth every time I leave the base to kill a guard. Crying won’t help, so all I can do is ask for advice. What should I do when stuff like this happens? (note that Alt+F4 is not considered as an option)

if they really were blocking all 3 exits to your spawn…play on a different map?

The best you can hope for (other than follow mcarsell’s advice) is to wait for a few other people at the spawn point and venture out together to overcome the gankers.

Is the map empty? If there is a decent sized zerg on the map, it will eventually run them over to regroup with all of the people that died.
You have 3 options:
-Switch maps. They are definitely not on every map, and if you aren’t there, they will get bored and leave.
-Use a lot of stealth. It will save you if you see them coming.
-Group up. This is my favorite option. With a small havoc guild, you can combat their roaming groups with your own. Alternatively, you can find a zerg and safety in numbers.

Give it a few days, they’ll eventually get bored. Or go find another bl and roam there, or screw with areas in other bls that Gandara controls.

Well, you have plenty of options:

Go to another border and cap their kitten.

kitten it and play some sPvP instead.

Actually tag up and do something about it. If they could 4v1 you at 4 different locations that include wide swaths lands to enter from that either mean you where outmanned – in which case you fight and die until you win – or you had so many on the border that everyone was running around like headless chicken feeding them while with a commander it would have meant you could 10v1 them.

Hop on an engi and use magnet from stealth to pull them into the legendary defenders, then throw siege on them and spam laugh.

I make note of those guys and then wait to catch them alone. I’m patient.

Otherwise just call out on map. A handful of people will usually commiserate and come and stomp the trolls.

When you’re outnumbered at a choke point, you need to call for assistance or find another choke point.

This is why there are four wvw maps and a pretty big auto-teleport zone around entry waypoints so you have a safe place for form up your counter-zerg and punch through.

If they’re locking down literally everwhere you can port to in WvW, your team is so hopelessly outnumbered that you’re not going to accomplish anything anyway.

If one spawn exit is blocked off:
-Take either of the other exits

If all spawn exits are blocked off:
-Switch maps

If all spawn exits on all maps are blocked off:
-Transfer servers

If all spawn exits on all maps on all servers are blocked off:
-go to sPvP

If the sPvP spawn exits are all blocked off
-go to PvE

If PvE is boring:
-uninstall
