I never had this type of issue before.

After entering WvW borderland, I am able to play for like 5 minutes. Everything suddenly freezes and the game crashes.

Yes, this keeps happening to me as well, and only post-update. Client freezes and I have to force close the game.

I have been plagued with disconnects only from the GW2 application for over a week. It is random and usually follows huge ping spikes.

Yeap exactly. Looks like I can’t play GW2 anymore until this is fixed. I’ve never had any sort of problems running GW2 pre-update.

If you got BGDM running, turn it off.

Yes, I have it all the time. But since about 3-4 days.

often heard the last days about a thing called “arcdps” could be responsible for game crashes ..

Just adding that I too was crashing and removing d3d9.dl and bgdm.dll (BGDM DPS Meter) from the bin folder fixed it.

I suggest removing and mods you have and see if those are causing the crashing.

Similar situation for me as well, as well as quite a few of my guildies. No one has the DPS meters since they don’t comply with anet’s TOS atm, so the crashes aren’t coming from those. Also does not explain the ping spikes.

Turn your DPS meters off kids.
