Anyone terrified about switching to 2 week rotations?
Transfers: I think instead of a total stop implementing a ‘hold’ on WvWing would work better. This would prevent players who just transferred from entering WvW for the remaining duration of the match. Or just put a 7 day limit on it.
This way friends could still join friends and be on the same server.
I think there also needs to be a longer delay as to how often someone can transfer. Instead of 24 hours make it at least 72 hours. Preferably a week before you can transfer again.
Id be worried if anyone took WvWvW seriously, which is fairly unlikely at this current stage.
I think your idea would combo well with my idea. Immediately lock transfers to the “winning” servers while still allowing transfers to the other servers. With my idea of limited players on maps being limited by the smaller pop servers, this would further encourage those on the “winning” high pop servers to leave to the smaller servers. I think that together would help “push” people into better balancing the servers.
Edit: Also adding a link to my post for my pop cap idea, for anyone that may not have seen it yet.

How many transfers does one person need to play on the same server as friends? I don’t agree with a 7 day limit for WvW. If anything an account should just be given 3 free transfers (to ensure they get on their friends servers). Anything after that should carry a real money fee.

I like this idea a lot.
Edit: The only problem would be that, say if for example, HoD was locked for being a winning server and later it had a mass exodus due to guilds chasing shorter queues. Would Areanet then have to open up transfers to HoD while closing transfers to the new server these guilds transferred to?
Seems like a lot of work.

Yes, don’t go to 2 weeks. This is why:

The Warrior turns to the guardian and says, “Did you hear something?”
Guardian replies, “No, but how’d the elementalist die?”

Fair enough, maybe not locking immediately just to see how it balances first with the lowest server pop cap first, then going from there.

Guild points are server specific. I have transfered five servers looking for one that had consistent population at the hours that I play. My playtime hours can change from day to day, so consistent population at various times was an important matter. Without that opportunity to find the right server this game would have been a lot less enjoyable. I prefer to WvW, and was often playing during low-pop hours on the first four servers. Each transfer dropped guild points to zero. I had to buy each tier fresh again. One thing did transfer – the emblem.
Chill out dude. My best guess would be they’ll continue to implement changes on a weekly basis as the ranking adjust to match the weekly scale. Until things seem fairly even, I doubt they’ll go to two week matches.

I certainly hope they don’t do until they can start fielding some close match ups. Right now I haven’t really seen any.

Yeah because things got way more balanced when switching from 24 hour rotations to weekly rotations. Oh that’s right they got much worse because they exacerbated the problems of imbalanced populations over night. And guess what? It’ll get even worse under 2 week rotations.
Um, the point of 24 hour matches was so there would be a baseline of where the servers fell as far as rank, so that 10 random servers wouldn’t spend two weeks each getting beaten by HoD on their way to the top. It should be patently obvious that things would become less balanced going from 24 hour matches to 7 day matches, but it’s much better than starting at 7 day matches, which would still be better than starting with 2 week matches.
Similarly, the point of having one week matches before two is precisely because of what’s happening now; further world balancing due to issues that weren’t present in the 24 hour matches. If you can’t understand something as simple as this, I really don’t know what else to say…

If they have any sense they simply will not do it – it will simply kill their game.
I am starting to think that even the 7 day format is to long, maybe 3-4 days is the sweet spot…. but whatever happens, please no 2 week matches until AN do something and fix the W3 imbalances.
Two week rotation is going to be a joke plain and simple.
