Is there anything WvW players can look forward to?
Has Arena Net mentioned anything?

No, only long term reward for wvw is hitting 1300 wxp and maxing all wvw traits. A-net did mention a CDI at the end of s2. It has been weeks since A-net stated that and nothing has happened. So nothing new, no idea of what A-net is planning on doing to improve WvW.

Nope, And that’s why the game has dropped so much in numbers lately. I haven’t been online now for about a month because i found myself logging in staring at the screen for about half hour then logging back out, I have a great guild full of great people and i will log in occasionally to say hi but as far as the game goes unless Anet adds something substantial i doubt i will return to full play.

Such a shame for such a promising game, Sadly this is what happens when the Devs don’t listen to the community.

You make an excellent point.

You know, I wouldn’t be surprised if the entire WvW team is literally like 3-4 people with 1 of them (i think Devon ?) simply put kinda in charge, and their boss, or CEO or whoever is in charge refuses to listen to them and forces them under duress of jobloss or insubordination penalties, to work on integrating living story components into WvW, instead of WvW itself and hence then calls it “The WvW Team”.

It really wouldn’t surprise me one bit.

I’m sure it’s economics. It’s labor intensive and internally viewed as a small piece of the pie for gem sales.

I mean realistically how does Anet differentiate between PvE and WvW players? I’m going to assume most players spend some time doing each. Did you buy that Gem store armor to look cool in Lion’s Arch or did you get it for screenshots while you stomp an uplevel trying to solo a camp? I’m not sure why I did, I bet Anet has even less idea.

Sure server transfers, which seem to be on the rise right now ( good job on that Anet ) and finishers are likely the results of WvW direct sales. One can only assume that it’s less income than they receive from the cosmetic and trinket sales which are likely eclipsed by the Gem to Gold Market.

Time will tell I guess.
