It seems like lately when I have gone to a BL or EB… I get a queue. When I enter the zone, we seem to be vastly outnumbered. It is not like we have multiple fronts. Everyone is fighting the same fight (there are no other crossed swords).

But we are outnumbered. Not only that, but this was in a home BL. We could spawn at citadel and fight at a tower and there were more of them then us.

Something is not right. I would REALLY like ANet to verify the logic is correct. My assumption is that all 3 sides are even to a max number per side. I’m hoping its not the stupid idea that there is just a max number for all sides period and the sides mismatch.

Finally, I am hoping that all these guild mates that logged off in WvW and still display as being in WvW in the guild window are not counting towards our server’s pop count.

As far as I am aware. Its a 250 cap per side per battlefield.

This is where th main problem is. Its not you have 100 they have 100 and the others have 100 . Its as many as you can field up to 250 per map.

So unless all sides can field 250 per map its going to be uneven.

Anyone ever play Aion? They had timed one sider verse another events. Without a flexible limiting population cap on WvWvW it will be unbalanced same as Aion.

If its 166 per map per side… that could very well be the issue.

If 15 are bots and 5-10 are in the jumping puzzle… and … 5 are hitting skill point A and 5 are hitting skill point B… that’s 35. That’s 21% of the total population right there.

I’m starting to think this may have been the cause of the mismatch I witnessed. When the servers restarted, the botters were not back in and we finally had the appropriate numbers involved in WvW (all the PvE’rs went to do the halloween stuff).

I’m thinking this is proof of the issue.

I was wondering about this aswell.

Is it really the same amount per server per map? That should be – in my opinion – only the case for the EB. In your home borderland you should have a population advantage over the invaders.

If its 166 per side per map, for the BL it should be readjusted to maybe 200 for the defender VS 149 each on the invaders. Its the own territory after all and you be able to have more people there than your enemy.

Not sure I agree with the mismatched pop limits in a home BL. The goal of the home BL commanders is to cause the invaders to attack each other over the towers and the isle between them. Once that occurs, you can begin moving your force en masse easier.

And it is actually not overly difficult to do due to the zerg mentality.. which is that it is easier to spawn at the border, walk a short distance and hit an enemy right there… then it is to spawn at the border, walk a long distance to hit an enemy where they have a respawn advantage.

Look at it this way:

If both invading servers provide their full power, you still need to split up your own power to hold two lines, after all, you’ll have 49 less than your invading opponent on each side. that ofc given you split the forces equally.
