Are WvW queues per server or per map?
each server has their own queue on each map.

In your hypothetical, it would be 100 max, each map, per server.
Per server per map.
If a WvW map has a hypothetical maximum number of players set at 100, can server A have 98 players while servers B and C have only one player each? Or do the queues favour those servers with fewer players inside? Thanks!
In your hypothetical Server A can have 98 players and will begin to queue once it goes to 100. Servers B and C will have one player each and will not experience a queue until the 100 limit is reached.
IE, Server A can have 100 players and 20 in queue.
Server B can have 100 players and 3 in queue.
Server C can have 2 players and no queue.
I’d love to see an official response on this. Unless they add the total player count per map to the wvw window there is truly no way of knowing. It just seems at times that player balance is off.

Each map has an allocation per server. So, using non-real numbers, EB can have 30 total players on it, 10 per server. If server A has ten people, they will queue regardless of how many Servers B and C have.
No wonder we were outmanned last night, we can only have 10 people on the map!?! We had 13 arrow carts so three weren’t even shooting…

Oh 30, that’s much better! I thought we could only have 10 each. Thanks Anet!

Ok, but is the cap the same for all three servers or is it flexible based on current map demand per server defined by the number of people who desire to play www on a specific map. I recall reading something recently regarding dynamic caps to in the interest of ensuring players are not penalized for having better coverage during specific times.

Eh, honestly, just trying to clear up in case anyone else misunderstood. You are welcome to your opinion of me though.

The total map cap for all three servers can be dynamic based on server load and overhead, however, each team will always have an equal cap. So for example, if the map cap is 300, each side will start queuing after 100 players from that team (server) are on a map.

10 players for each server and 90 additional spots for each server reserved for Anet employees so they can blob and zerg around.

I don’t really understand this. Sometimes, we have a queue to enter a map, but when we manage to enter, we have the outmanned buff. How can it be ?
If each map has an allocation per server, and we have a queue, we should be at our max allocation, therefore how can we have the outmanned buff ?
I’d like to kindly recommend checking your algorithm. I’ve seen some really mismatched fights that supposedly had equal numbers.

could be caused by a large force that was on that map hopping to another borderland…..
