Guild Wars 2

I have not done a ton of PVP yet, but I did gain about 5 levels today from strictly WvW pvp as a Greatsword Guardian, and I must either be doing something wrong or else melee in general is just really terrible in this game.

In the very rare cases where I got to 1v1 or even 1v2, I basically always won, so it’s not like the class is weak as far as I can tell. But 99% of the pvp is just massive ranged AOE zergs where I can either stand around doing nothing or charge into the fray and die instantly.

Am I missing something here or is melee just really useless at PVP in this game?

was out there on a lowbie guardian tossing up reflect projectile walls watching people kill themselves. was hilarious.

Melee is far from useless in WvW.

The problem I see with the people who keep bringing this up is that they are either running rambo, or tagging along with some kind of disorganized zerg.

Do yourself a favor and join a WvW guild. You will have so much more fun when you run with an organized group.
