Are server points still worth it?
The PPT game was already almost dead from the randomized server matchups. The Leagues will probably kill it outright.
PPT was only viable as a goal when we had tiers and putting points on the board moved you up or down. With random matchups, you have no control over this, so why bother.
The only way Bloodlust will affect this state of affairs is if it destroys GvG’s and the GvG’ers put energy and theory-crafting back into the PPT game. I doubt that will happen. More likely is that both the PPT and the GvG game will die.

Depending on how the season is scored, I think PPT will be more important if you want to win. If its the same as the current system, it will harder for higher ranked servers to maintain a high rating when fighting a low rated server. You put the number 1 server with the last place server, the number 1 server is going to lose a ton of points just for being in the make up and in order to try and break even they will have to completely blow out the match up. Of coarse this is assuming that the scoring system works this way, if not the your probably right.

In short, would WvW’ers be better off ignoring the other locations and just fighting over the Bloodlust buff?
the answer is simple
no, because its a zero sum game, and you need at least one foe willing to show up to make any profit from it.
only 1 side can win a point, and the other 2 then are at a big disadvantage
once 1 side got the buff, it becomes increasingly easier for them to cap the remaining 2
hence, the other sides tend to avoid fights entirely, just change maps to lower populated ones, to skip zergs, or stay inside keeps all day long with a billion ACs until the doors/walls are down, then run/tp.
so, figthing over the buff becomes useless to all, all sides get bored and frustrated

Is that another way of saying if you don’t fight over the Bloodlust buff you may as well go off and PvE?
